I want to see Robin's and Lucina's screen KO at the same time now. Still a hilarious addition to the game.
Addition? I'm pretty sure that it was in the franchise ever since first one.

I wish there were more levels with a mess of platforms like Battlefield. It's part of why 64's levels are mostly all great, with shit like Hyrule Castle and Metal Cavern.
Um, yes. It's the game that split the timeline, introduced Ganondorf, introduced time-travel, is considered by many to be the best, or at least one of the best, and brought the series into 3-D.
Addition? I'm pretty sure that it was in the franchise ever since first one.
This I agree with. Heck, I actually kind of like the dynamic platforms of Coliseum, but the level is a walk off and I don't love those. Of course, the FD version of the stage doesn't feature the platforms.
But what ya gonna do?
Did I just watch a Dragon Ball Z fight?
It would depend on what type of game you ar working on. I think a bit more things have to be concidered and more things taken away in a gave like sfiv, unlike marvel where characters have moves that can keeep characters away from them and run out time. And it bing unbalanced in a way makes it balanced some weeird zen full circle kind of things
So you know get in where the balance fits in.
Btw if I may ask what type of fighting game were you making?
I have been working on gam stuff as of late but nothing on the level of a fighting game. I'm just one dude.
pray for the Battlefield For Glory skin options![]()

I don't get it. Melee wasn't a balanced game too, it's just more fun for competitive players.
I still don't get the point of FD versions of all stages.
They should have done Neutral versions of all stages, just remove all the hazards and if it's a walk off or a moving stage just make it like a normal stage.
If every stage is FD, there's no actual difference between any of them so you may as well have just left it as FD only at that point.
People talk about proper alt costumes being a waste of time and resources but the FD stage versions definitely are.
Could we count Arena Ferox as a viable stage? It kinda reminds me of Pokemon Stadium from melee with the transforming platform structures. Also Town and City looks viable...

They don't actually face splat do they?
For the record, I still fully intend to buy the Wii U version day one and give it the fairest chance I possibly can. At the moment, all we have to go on is what Sakurai gives us.I'm pretty sure that we are aware of that. I'm still think that we should wait until we have a final version before we are jumping into conclusion.
I think your fundamental misconception here is that you believe Melee was an accident. People always assume, "Oh, it's just a party game", and often draw comparisons with Mario Kart and Mario Party in the sense that it's not meant to be played seriously. The truth is, it was never like that. There's a mechanic where if you ever so gently tilt the control stick while shielding, you can angle your shield to better cover the exposed parts of your hurtbox. Now, who's ever going use that mechanic, except for in higher level skilled play? Melee wasn't ever just a party game - it was a fighting game, with all the depth of a fighting game, but a tiny barrier of entry. That's why it appealed to everyone. You guys make it sound like he made Brawl specifically to spite some of you and is doing it all over again. I don't think you guys are his target audience. I don't think you guys have ever been his target audience. Unless something radical happens in the next 5-ish years, I don't think you guys will be the target audience for the next smash bros, either.
He wants this game to appeal to as many people as possible. This means it has to be accessible, have a lot of content, have a lot of popular characters, and be fun to play for as many people as possible. If the FGC can find something in the game to make it competitive, he'll see that as a bonus (because it makes more players happy), but I don't think he ever set out to make a smash brothers game that could be played at a pro level.
Yeah, well, it's still balanced a hell of a lot more balanced than Brawl is. Brawl is rampant with problems that indicate minimal or underqualified playtesting, with Snake's hitboxes being perhaps one of the most easily noticeable examples.I don't get it. Melee wasn't a balanced game too, it's just more fun for competitive players.
That would be incredible if they made neutral versions of all the stages.
But they aren't doing that, so let's just look on the bright side. At least now we can actually enjoy the scenery of otherwise terrible stages.

Haha. Nice.
Here's a quick guide to what's viable and what isn't:

not really, but it's funny!

That seems more like they're bouncing off the screen. This Smash seems like they're going splat against it and then sliding off.

Yeah, it's from a Brawl TAS video (don't know the source though)
Ah, I didn't see it. Guess so.I already mentioned that in my original post. They tumbled in Melee and Brawl.
I'm just saying that you said addition when it already exists in the franchise but yeah, they finally changed the animation and screen KO style which made it even much better.
Brawl stages on the 3DS?
I think it could work, there's a lot of them I think wouldn't tax the system too hard.
- Luigi's Mansion (although I think Dark Moon will get its own stage)
- Bridge of Eldin (the background could just be a static image, no need for it to be totally rendered on the 3DS)
- Wario Ware (although I think Wario Ware will have a big presence on the 3DS due to it being a portable series)
- Distant Planet (probably the easiest port, the background can 100% be a static image, it may have even been in Brawl, I couldn't tell)
- Smashville (another one I think will probably happen)
- 75M (terrible level, easy to port)
- Mario Bros (see 75M)
- Pictochat (it would be silly not to include this on the portable version of the game)
- Hanebow (easy level, doesn't even require music)
- Green Hill Zone (a "big" level detail wise, but I think it's doable)
Stuff like Delphino, Port Town and New Pork City are out of the question imo.

Oh my god
I'm of the mindset that brawl stages will be on Wii U and melee/64 stages will be on 3DS. I'd love to see them cross over, though. We'll see!
New Pork doesn't seem like it would work on a small screen at all. Why? 3DS has Rainbow road and lumiose city, those 3 shouldn't be that bad.
It's like you guys have never seen a TAS before.
So Jigglypuff's rest is gonna become even more of a risk at the end of a match.
Also, I better get some Wonderfull 101 music in the game.
Fox v. Falco
I'm lost. What's with this Sakurai=George analogy?
Fun Fact (Kinda FE:A Spoilers): If you have Robin marry Lucina,Chrom proves himself as the Ultimate Bro by being cool with it later in the game, despite the act being a direct violation of the Bro Code. You also effectively make Chrom a grandfather when you recruit Morgan.
In the Spring Scramble DLC, if the match above is a thing,Robin is implied to live in fear of Chrom seeing him & Lucina together.

Pic of the day. Here's a Screen K.O. shot. There are also patterns where players will disappear into the sky for Star K.O.s, but as a match's time limit approaches, those K.O.s will not occur anymore.
Holy crap, way to pull a post from 30 pages ago.
Cool of you bring this up from over 20 pages ago, since then we already have completed this discussion. And no. It didn't introduce time travel. ALttP did that with the switching between light and dark worlds, even though you didn't play as differently aged Links.
Introducing Ganondorf and splitting the timeline aren't great achievements, and I would even argue it was also ALttP that split the timeline before OoT, as it was the first game to tell Link's and Zelda's story anew, and change Link's origins.
Alright, I know SS already got a stage, but we need to talk about how cool a Lanayru Desert stage could be. You could do the desert itself, Lanayru Mining Facility, or Sandship, but all would revolve around timeshift stones. It'd just be cool to have a level that was completely static until someone hits a timeshift stone and the level comes alive. There's a couple of interesting stuff you could do with it.
Won't happen, but it's still a neat thought.
I think my favorite part about that is in the S-support Robin is likeHe knows!"I tried REALLY HARD not to fall in love with you, but it DIDN'T WORK D:"

I don't expect 64 levels on the WiiU, but do on the 3DS. But I expect all three series on the 3DS, and Melee/Brawl on the WiiU. 64 stages will look... off on the WiiU.
