LTTP: Dark Souls

Ok, Bed of Chaos is seriously pissing me off. I have absolutely no idea which part of it I'm supposed to be attacking, or how I'm supposed to do that. I've cut the two things on the sides, but that's it. No idea what to do now. Think I've already died more to this thing than any previous boss.

You have to run into the center/its heart and kill the actual demon.

Get on the branch in the pit in front of it and head forward.

And yeah, Bed of Chaos is such a shitty boss the devs apologized for it.

I was trying to do that, but I have no idea how to get there. There's just a giant hole of death there, which I keep getting knocked into. Oh well, I'll keep trying.

Ah, yes, I've seen that branch and thought it might be something of interest, but I didn't think I'd be able to get there.

EDIT: Oh wow, once you knew where to go that boss was just... nothing. No actual challenge except for the game misleading you (IMO). Not a highlight of the game, that's for sure. Oh well, that's three lord souls down.

Well, that fight (4K) was rather different. Using my regular tactics of blocking and striking back I had no chance in hell, my stamina drained way too fast and I was soon surrounded and doomed. When I instead went two-handed and let my armor take the hits (I'm using Havel's set) it was suddenly very easy. Their attacks barely damaged me, and I could just pound away and take them out one at a time.

EDIT: Game completed! I'll agree with those who have said that the last part of the game (after Anor Londo) isn't as strong as what came before that. Some of those later areas and boss fights just felt a bit rushed, with less work put into them. And the ending?
"Link the fire", credits roll. No ending cutscene, no nothing. I guess DkS2 picks up where this ends? Or is the implication that there is no salvation, no lifting the curse of the undead, but just an endless cycle?

Overall I loved it though. Definitely the best game I've played this year, and certainly one of the highlights of the PS360 generation. Can't wait for Bloodborne. But first, Demon's Souls!

I wouldn't say that it's "not hard", but I also don't think it's that hard. Before playing it I was expecting this brutally difficult and unfair challenge that would be all but impossible to overcome, because that's basically how people describe it. But I quickly found that it's really not. Yes, the game does punish you swiftly and without mercy if you're being careless, and yes, you'll probably die a few times on each boss before figuring out the weaknesses in their patterns, but once you understand what to do it's really just a matter of careful execution. I don't think any boss has taken me more than 5 tries or so. O&S I believe I beat on my second or third try (although that was with the help of dear Solaire).

Try beating them without Solaire and say they're not hard. I had enough humanity to have Solaire only once and for the longest time that was the only time I made it to the second part of the battle. I tried farming rats but that took forever. 2 hours to get 2 humanity and then in a hilarious moment I died on the way to O & S. (I was running from a bunch of enemies and ran into another one that sneak attacked me from the side, then they all surrounded me) I ended up beating O & S without Solaire. It was either that or never beating it. After those wasted 2 hours, I was never farming for anything in DS again.

The other part you're talking about I just did yesterday, and had very little trouble. There are a lot of pretty strong guys there, yes, but as long as you take them on one at a time it's no biggie (although I might be a bit stronger than you were at that point, as I did a few other areas in-between).

When I shoot an arrow at one of them from a distance, it usually alerts them all to come kill me at the same time. Even when I just get one of them, it's tough and frustrating to fight in such a narrow space. If I try to circle around them, sometimes I won't be able to fit, they'll hit me, and knock me in the lava. Or I'll attack and keep backing up and sometimes I'll just back right up into the lava. What's your secret?

Well instead of just saying that its too hard, maybe look at why it took you so long to beat O & S. What kind of weapon were you using? If you don't have a +10 weapon that scales with either str or dex, your probably going to have a hard time.

I have and still have a Raw Great Scythe+5.

It also helps to have a shield with good stability also helps.

Not sure what that means, but I have a Grass Crest Shield+3.

Using Ring of Favor and Protection and Havel's Ring.

Poise helps you tank a few hits from them w/o getting staggered so having heavier armor or the wolf ring (or both but that seems like overkill to me) will help. If you have humanity, you can become human and summon Solaire for the fight. He is pretty helpful at distracting one while you dealing with the other one. You can also summon other players to help you (though it might be hard to summon people now since the game is several years old tbh). So you have a lot of ways of making the fight easier on yourself.

I don't have Xbox online since I don't play any games other than DS that I would have use for it. (If I play multiplayer with friends, I want them to be in the same room with me) That means humanities are hard to come by.
