So happy to see all the Scout Rifle love in this thread! I used Auto Rifles and did fairly well with them, but once I learned how to effectively use a Scout Rifle, I did much better and my K/D started rising.
<3 my Jigoku SR3.

I use scout rifle in PvE just fine but PvP I can't seem to use it. I had to switch to my auto rifle to start getting a bit better in PvP. I dont know how to use scout rifle effectively in crucible

One shot kills and the ability to destroy vehicles and mounts in one or two shots. I fail too see what's wrong with it, it's extremely powerful.

My point was, It is not as good as Titans and Warlock's super comparatively.

I cant activate it during a fight, I get shot down when an enemy watches me activating most of the time.

If I activate it without any enemy in sight, I end up wasting it mostly.

Maybe this one is just me, but I have not even used all three shots on 3 different people yet. So that not really guaranteed multiple kills unlike Titan or Warlock's super if they activate it in the capture zone full of enemies..

I guess there more AOE abilities and the hunter is just kills that need to be done quick.

I get that the Titan and Warlock's super would be better for scenarios such as a group of four are capturing the flag and you can take them all out at once, but the hunters super makes up for that in other areas.

A big difference for me is that the Titan/Warlocks super can be used in a scenario when shit hits the fan and you are about to die. Hunter super needs to be sure he won't die otherwise it's a waste, and if you don't spot 3 players in the time you won't get the 3 shots.

We are talking about just PvP, right? Makes sense for those shorter distances.

Because in PvE, you're not going to get as frequent critical yellow hits as when aiming down sights. It's just a waste of time avoiding the ADS in PvE unless if those Thralls are running at you or if you're close to enemies.

nah i really think ADS is a piece of shit so i just don't use it whenever possible.

Jigoku SR3 is where it's at, yo. Top tier shit.

Scout is still my main on the Hunter Class on PVP but the Revolver/Pistol is my main on PVE. hipfire with it makes it like 3? or 4? to the chest and 2 upper torso. It even works well in PVP

Exactly... I think people think too much of the AoE supers... You're more likely to get three kills as a hunter than three kills as a warlock with one super. Plus the range on the golden gun more than makes up for it not being AoE. But the thing about you losing your super if don't even get one shot off kinda does suck.

My Sahara:

I don't really use it because the recoil is too much for me.

Yeah fair point. The Hunters super requires more 'skill' to use without a better benefit because of that, whereas the Titan and Warlock aim it into an area with a mass amount of people and are guaranteed a kill, if not multi-kills.

What does "Impact" do for weapons?

Does it slow people down or something?

Can anyone explain to me why this Sahara is higher than my 55 and they are the same name and gun?

That is just how the game is. I THINK it might depend on what level you are when you find it. Because I found a same gun I had before, but at a later level, and it had a higher attack.

Try to run less and begin engagements at a distance farther than you've done so far. Aim for the head. In 2 shots you strip their shields and being them to ~50% life; the enemy usually freaks out at this point and can be more prone to make mistakes.

That's what I'm getting at. I love getting kills with the Golden Gun. It feels good. I know how to use it. But I can't help feel a little jealous when I see the other two getting 5 kills at once. :/

I've got to say, I'm really excited about the loot in the full game. People have said they're disappointing but it's only because they've really restricted it for the beta. I've stated before I like how they have their own individual skill trees for upgrades, but I also think the effects have a very significant impact on the weapon. I accidentally dismantled a green pulse rifle that had the upgrade ability of allowing it to be full auto instead of semi. I'm really curious as to how it would've played out, and I can only imagine stuff like that getting exponentially crazier on blue and purple loot.

I wonder if they'll have even higher tiers of loot (yellow/orange)?

I mean, yeah - its nice and all but people are already seeing that Warlocks turn into space clowns if you simply double jump to the left or right once their animation starts up.

And people are realizing that huddling up in groups of 5 to capture a zone isn't worth giving someone a free multikill too.
Impact = Damage
Not true. Impact is the stagger effect dealt.

Titan/Warlock confirmed no-skillz required.

Golden Gun is great. You guys need to stop comparing its usage to the other supers so much. You can't use them in the exact same scenarios, but that doesn't mean its any worse than the others.

If there are 5 people huddled together inside a capture zone like idiots they deserve to get space magic'd and meet their maker.

Exactly.

If it was upto me, I would make it 2 shots and no timer for the Golden Gun.

.

It always kills me when I see like 3 or 4 on one capture point. Especially from the get go. Like 2 can stay back and 3 can move to the B flag to begin the lockdown.

Angry Magic makes the Nova Bomb track enemies, so no, that won't save you.

Yeah and the look cool doing it as well :(

Oh well, at least we have cloaks right, RIGHT?

Hence the ' ' around the word skill.

The Golden Gun is quite useful to counter snipe the assholes that camp on the edges of First Light instead of actually, you know, taking bases.

I think once we are able to play some other gametypes, the Hunter's golden gun will start to compare a bit more favorably to the other two. Since we can only play control at the moment, the Titan and Warlock abilities are so much more lethal due to the fact that in this gametype you'll have numerous chances to find many players grouped together.

In a slayer/deathmatch style gametype where there is a lower chance of people grouping in one area, it may become very difficult to get more than just a single kill with your abiliity, if you are a Warlock or a Titan. However, the golden gun should still perform well in those particular situations, due to its ability to kill over larger distances, and in more than one area.

Hell yea, same deal. I'm actually using this guy right now, It's lower impact but the higher fire rate with a good level of stability (compared to auto rifles) works great.
