This isn't the first time Israel has used flechette shells either. I don't understand how the IDF is not designated as a terrorist organization yet.

Yes, Hamas is terrible, but so is the Israeli government, and you don't need to look any further than the West Bank to realize that this massacre isn't about rockets, it's about politics. This massacre of innocent civilians is indefensible.

This is absolutely disgusting. I can't see how anyone could rationalize this. Using flechettes is a guaranteed way to ensure civilians are hurt and/or killed.

You dont have to justify or rationalize everything. I fucking hate my country's (US) foreign policy and conduct during iraq invasion 2003. I repeatedly call for a warcrimes tribunal for bush, cheney, rumsfeld etc. No country is perfect and militaries even more so.

But if you want to be honest with yourself you would weigh the both sides equally. It doesnt matter if the other side already did it. But if you are fair, you will treat each side equitibly. Also as per usual the media coverage on this is biased to unbelievable levels. Two soldiers die and they get headlines. It really is a double standard, but the IDF is not just this autonomous band of highly trained soldiers. They have a government controlling them through democracy, and are also backed by the US. I'd rather get into the realpolitik of the matters than trying to fight for a labeling from the international community that would fall on its face.

I think people are being a little unfair piling up on you and throwing out some personal mockery, but that bolded bit is where their frustration comes from, I think. Just because you have ties to a country doesn't mean you're obliged to justify it's government's actions or defend it. I'm sure, as Rusty noted, most Americans in this thread did not attempt to justify the US invasion of Iraq.

Because terrorist organization is such a loose, biased term. You can't name a military that isn't expressly designed to kill as many people as possible, spread as much terror as possible, and cause as much destruction and possible. That's the entire point. A terrorist organization is just a label used for a military organization the labeler doesn't agree with.

Where did I once make it personal? Seriously? I did not level one insult towards another member, use a hostile tone, nor did I once condone the attacks made on innocent civilians. The only thing I said was Israel had the right to defend themselves due to 427 rockets being sent to their cities. This does not however give them permission to kill 500 civilians. I realize tensions are high due to the sensitive nature of the subject, but some people are incredibly out of line in this thread.
