EDIT: i'm slow :lol

The 'Challenger Approaching' banners have already been removed from the website. Clearly another character reveal soon.

Yes?

No...

SDCC is this weekend...and they did say they were going to have surprises. And they are live streaming.

...but why they would do it at SDCC and who they would confirm I can't even begin to guess.

Assault was probably an easy choice since they were probably able to take the assets from Namco Bandai. I have a feeling it's going to be a mix between the traditional "Great Fox" stages from melee and 64 and the traveling style of Lylat Cruise where the background shows off different locales.

As for the newcomer banners being dropped, I sense a vet reveal! My money is on either Falco or ROB.

Aww damn, that looks really awesome. The Assault Great Fox was one of my requested stages for Brawl, so I'm very happy to see it here. SF:Assault always had the best vehicle designs in the series.

Agreed. And somehow I even managed to like the entire game. Including ground sections and multiplayer.

1vs1 dogfights on that Space Station map are sooo good. As are the ground sections with four players. I was impressed that you could use the tank and the Arwing in the multiplayer during ground sections, actually. Such a blast to play *_*

Great Fox is back in space, where it belongs. Sector Z is the true Great Fox stage, not that knock off known as Corneria.

And it looks so cool in this shot.

As some have stated, SDCC is a big enough event with ties to gaming, as well as more casual media, that I see it as something feasible.

In a case like this, Nintendo would have just caught up with what the likes of Capcom and Namco have been doing at Comic-con for the last few years.

Watch Wolf be revealed instead of Falco.

I think I'd actually be fine with that since Wolf is a little more of his own character. All three are most likely coming back though, so I'm not complaining.

Hell, I'm pretty much fine with anything they do with the roster at this point.

I think there's only a few character reveals that could happen there that would make a huge boom if they're trying to get casual media (do you mean mainstream media?).

Gamers would love to see Mewtwo back, Ganondorf with a brand new moveset, or maybe even Ice Climbers and how they work. But I don't see mainstream media picking up much of a story unless it's Pacman level where everyone knows the character.
