Pretty much.

All this info comes from a booklet they sent to a prominent youtuber. Had to fucking pause to read each of the booklet's pages as he scrolled through them.

Ah, in the booklet they compare the hive to Mass Effect's husks.

Check out the arm bands that the Speaker has. Some of them look pretty decent.

Also, there's more story content in the Beta than there was in the Alpha, so I'm hoping we're going to have another step up between now and September.

ive sent in a few xbox 360's in back in the day and they took forever. maybe sony got a better program. im torn.
 
I would like to voice my support for those wanting an audio indicator for when your grenade/melee/knife is ready.

Here's the reason: the the throwing knife. It's often that I find myself doing a melee attack when I meant to throw a knife because out of the corner of my eye I think the knife bar has filled up, but it's actually very close and not quite there.

I like this but I think I'm gonna cancel my preorder and pass on this. It's fun but the online only thing is bothersome to me. I need to be able to pause. I'm so torn on this lol.

I thought they were pulling a fast one on me, actually callin it "Da Darkness!", but they seem to be real earnest on that front.

I don't know, when you're in the Strike/Story missions with friends, the gunplay is really solid, the art looks great, and you want to upgrade your shit. But when that's over, you got this kinda half-ass MMO thing if you're not into PvP. A poor man's version of the Citadel from Mass Effect, you get down on the ground and explore and you hardly see anybody, there's no real loot or challenges or anything interesting to do besides boring randomly generated missions("go here, touch thing, fight random mooks in corner over there"). It doesn't seem to have the stat allocation/customization other MMORPGs have, they all kinda blend together a bit, not a lot of variety.

Obviously this is a beta, there's gonna be a lot more content in the real thing, but I wonder about the longevity of this thing for people who don't care for PvP. Its pretty sparse on the road to level 8, and once you get there, there's just nothing else that interest me, randomly running around the same old areas again and again kicking cans and waiting for something interesting to happen.

I didn't have a problem with it. That's most likely due to A.D.D. though. My eyes don't sit still.

I might be wrong on the charging colors also but I know it switches to green when ready. I watched it like a friggin hawk.
 
so, the throwing knife is an ability the hunter gets when the melee bar is full. this type of melee power-up is exclusive to hunters, no? has there been any indication that the other classes will also unlock some sort of chargeable melee power?
 
Also as a sidenote, I wonder how much did they have to compromise the design of the open world areas in order to fit into half a gig of ram T_T

It's charged based off a time delay, there are equipment and perks which can alter the time plus I believe you can actually unlock 2 throwing knives if you level up more.

Plus the knife is exclusive to Hunter. Titan's punch and Warlocks do some magic shizzle with their hand.

Should I buy TLOU remastered when I have to wait for Destiny ?

I haven't play TLOU yet but I'm afraid that my hype for Destiny will make me enjoy the game lesser than it should be.

Yeah a sound cue is much better than a visual one. I can't stop my train of death to look at the indicator.

There's a tensioning screw that's accessible by removing a panel on the ps4. It somehow controls how sensitive the drive is and apparently that screw can come loose and spit games out. Or something like that. Mine did the same thing the day I bought it and that was to info I found from Sony. It seemed better once I tightened that, but since I had literally only owned it for an hour, I took it back for a swap, just to be on the safe side. Worth a shot? Can't hurt anything and voids no warranty.

yeah, i understand that - just confirming that the hunter is the only class that in addition to a standard melee also has the charged throwing knife.

thanks for the tip. ive seen a few videos like this, but not confident in my hardware fixing abilities.

thought about being shady and trading it in for a white console pre-order at gamestop when they were offering the bonus 50% and flat amount trade in value, but decided against it.

Titan has a powered melee attack. Their punch can electrify the enemy and takes away mass health. I've been able to take out Captain shields with it.

nice, but as someone else mentioned a gauntlet of some kind would be great and fit in with the melee abilities of the warlock.
