It took me a hour or so but I'm really liking the game. I thought it was just mediocre at first but now I like it. I've been playing the PS3 version and will start the X1 when it finishes dl.

seems like there's a lot of crazy upgrade slots.

No the only random matchmaking PvE content available is the Strike mission.

I'm okay with that, I started a Hunter and got to level 2, and tried the level 2 mission on Heroic (solo) and had a blast until the end, then I had to kite guys around.
Took me much longer, but was still doable.

Edit: I think i hit level 4 when I finished

found this day 1.... like a boss. (found found...it was a random engram!)

That's what I use too, it's so awesome I rarely even bother with my sniper rifle or heavy weapon. Especially since I got some Komarov 3.0 gauntlets that improve scout reload time.

I'm never going auto, I love the semi-auto too much. Really fits with my hunter and my play style.

Is something going on with the shadows? (PS4) Seems there's quite a bit of flickering on distant shadows
The shadows had flickering at a distance in the alpha as well.

It's just the shadow rendering approach. Shadow quality drops off in steps as they get farther from the camera, and shadows are dependent on the camera position and time of day. So, far-off shadows are both constantly changing and low-quality, resulting in aliasing.

This isn't unique to Destiny.

It seems worse than before the maintenance because I immediately noticed it.

Shoot an ammo drop and it'll pick it up. Primary, Special, and Heavy.

Oh...that's pretty cool actually. Could be very useful in big firefights or bossfights, where you don't want to leave cover for fear of dying.

More of that kind of talents, and less of boring stuff like quicker reload, faster firing, more dmg etc.

Yeah I think the hardest part of that Strike mission is the waves that come at your while you wait for the Ghost to open that security door. The tank and Sepiks were cakewalks by comparison.

Yeah, I agree. It's really easy to get overwhelmed on that part. Sepiks wasn't really hard. I just sat in the entrance and saved my grenades / special for when captains spawned.

Sepiks is super easy, wave fight is also pretty easy as long as you position yourself well in the enviroment.

Spider tank is the hardest one imo. The cannon oneshots you, and it can be difficult to see exactly where it's firing, and there's not really any way to know when the cannon fires iirc.

You can see the laser aiming before it fires the one shot cannon.

When I first went to orbit I stuck the game on normal (hard for a new character due to level) and it felt like the true and tested bungie shooter I love, so good.

Having a good team on the Strike mission makes that section a cakewalk.

Agreed. I've only had a solid team once out of the few times I played through the Strike mission though; I've yet to play with anyone from my friends list or DestinyGAF so it's co-op'ing with the strong silent types :) Still, it's all good and a lot of fun.

I hang out underneath the main platform so I can get clear sniper shots at his center while also taking shot at the enemies on the sides.. Also, being protected like that means my teammates don't have to rely on getting revived; they'll respawn as long as one person still remains viable.

it's frustrating to play with people who dont know what they are doing.
shoot the legs damnit lol

i just noticed on my last strike run that you can shoot right through the joint to the weak point. no need to open him up.

the game glitched or something and we couldn't damage his legs so we started to look for other weak points.

Been downloading for about 4 hours and I'm only at 65% on the 360. Yeah I guess I won't be playing tonight. I'm just glad bungie opened it up a day early at least.

If no new content was added my immediate need to play only for my character to be erased in less than a week has decreased. I'll play a bit this weekend especially during the 26th but it won't be as much as last weekend.
