Obviously I realize the beta is a very small slice of content, but given what is here I'm finding nothing at all compelling about the story portions.

The narration and objectives seem straight out of the disposable MMO quest template.

So I decided to put in my 14-Day trial card because what the hell. Still no dice. Buzzard error. Can't play. Seems like anything from a 48hr trial to a one month sub won't get you access.

Bungie pls

The Roster is for inviting people on hour friend list. If you want to invite randoms, center your crosshairs on them and hind the inspect button. You should then be able to choose an option to invite them to party up with you.

I believe he was asking where to go to find more people to play with. Like, to add, not how to invite people to a team. Hence saying he wanted more "Destiny pals"

2 bugs I've encountered since the update.

1. Can't revive when the mission is over and you have to wait 20 sec. Really dumb since the dead person could search for some dropped loot during that time.

2. Same Firetime but opposing team on crucible. Only happened once though.
That happened day one with me and shadow at the first boss that crawls out the wall

Heh. Start a warlock and just noticed my clan tag decided to show up. Says "DestinyGAF NA" I thought we were going with DGAF/GAF? Not that it matters to me.

For whatever reason, it shows the clan name rather than the tag. Which results in some cut off words for some clans lol. "DestinyGAF Cen" or "DestinyGAF Eas" etc.

Ok. Guess the west 1 got cut off. I thought that was why they added alliances so it didn't matter if we had to make a dozen little clans. Oh well lol.

Or they are just being quiet about it which I'm hoping is the case. Just don't get your hopes up

Yeah, I'm hoping there's more. The way they describe the five locations as: Venus, Mars, The Tower, Moon, and Old Russia makes it sounds like there's nothing else to explore on Earth in this first game. That would be very disappointing to me; Old Russia has been kind of fun to explore, but there didn't actually seem to be all that much to find in Explore mode.

I've just started playing and have some initial feedback, and this seems like as good a place as any to provide it. In no particular order:

The character creation options seem a bit sparse. Perhaps this is expanded upon in the full game, but as is it seems there are very few choices in each category.

When making character creation selections (or any menu dealing with cosmetic changes), the feature should be displayed when highlighted instead of having to push A repeatably (Xbox) to reflect changes. For instance, if I want to test out all the hair colors, I don't want to mash A 20 times to see them all.

Holding Y (Xbox) to go to orbit or exit the post mission report takes too long, maybe 5 seconds. This can really be cut down. 2 seconds ensures it is not a mistake, 5 is annoying overkill.

As I've seen pointed out very often, the enemies respawn much too quickly in all occurrences. This has been expanded upon by many others, so I'll leave it at that.

Lastly, this deals with fundamental mechanics of the game which I fear will limit the amount of change possible. I feel the movement speed is too slow, almost sluggish. This has been an unfortunate trend in Bungie games, most egregiously in Halo Reach. Movement speed needs increased, simply put. Also, the aiming accuracy while airborne needs to be increased. In fact, the aiming penalty should be abolished altogether. This really discourages what is a fundamental movement in the game. If this game is supposed to feel fun to shoot, this does the exact opposite. I feel this is an unfortunate effect of the push to ADS in destiny, which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but it detracts from certain aspects of the shooting mechanics. The movement penalties for increased accuracy is something I never expected for a Bungie game, and it is unfortunate it is so pronounced.

My last point is the most important, but also the hardest to address. I hope some compromise is made in the coming months before release. All said, this is a great game and I can't wait to get my hands on the final product.

Oh. Well, when you are in the Tower, you can "Inspect" other players and "View profile" will be one of the options. From there you can send a friend request.

Or join the GAF clan, you'll make lots of friends that way. The GAF clan thread is here.

Good stuff, might want to post it here too: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=859474

The bolded is something I wish they'd apply to all their menus. Feels like everything takes 1-5 seconds to load.

Load times in general are really bad. I wonder if they'll be able to optimize it at all, because I'll bet that will end up being noted on its review scores.

So first message I got right after the first cutscene:

Error
Unable to find a match for you Fireteam, please try again.

If the problem persists, it may mean there is a problem with your networking setup. For more info please visit help.bungie.net and search for: newt

Anyone else get this message? (XB1 by the way)

It finally finished! YAY

I went the warlock class with exo style, very darth maul :) First impression when starting at russia is mindblowing. Amazing graphics.

Cant wait to dig into this more.

Anyone rethinking their digital order of this game? If it takes 4 hours to download the beta..I am still itching to play and I started nearly as soon as it was up.

PS4 has preloading and I'm sure XB1 will have the same so you shouldn't have to worry about waiting for your game to download before you can play it on release day. The only issue I see is that the digital game will unlock/release at 12am PST. This is not good for any EST'ers.

I certainly like the co op and exploring of the game but the PvP is not clicking with me at all like a normal Bungie game.. something seems off. Will keep at it but.. just not having fun in that mode for some reason.

Game seems to be running very smooth on X1 from what I could tell.
