Fun times glitching places.

Another way I found to fast-track your gear leveling is by having the ones you want upgraded equipped when you turn in bounties. That XP gets dumped onto the gear as well and it almost always results in leveling up gear and unlocking one or more of their abilities depending on the XP reward. Some of those Vanguard bounties are easy peasy.

Grinding for loot and bounty at the Divide, the area just after the Skywatch is great.

Crazy fast respawn, the Defend Warsat quest is not time consuming, and loot drops quickly due to the volume of enemies.

Hmm. Getting an error when I try to connect to the game right after making a character.

Says error is "newt"

Just got this. Dammit, Bungie! Took 6 hours to download the damn thing, now you "can't find a match for my Fireteam."

Grumble, mutter, grumble...

EDIT: Nevermind, works! Just keep trying.

Feels much smoother on XB1. PS4 had some type of judder or FPS drops. I do think the ps4 version looked a hair better though.

I played for a couple hours on 360, then a few more hours on Xbox One. There's a huge difference in terms of performance (no surprise). The 360 version has some pretty consistent framerate issues (depends on the area) and is aliased to all hell. The Xbox One version has a super-consistent framerate that I'd reckon was 60 FPS if I weren't told it was 30. And the increased resolution makes aliasing almost a non-issue. It's going to be very hard to go back to playing on 360 when my friend gets around to joining me.

Getting "Waiting for Party stabilization" right now and can't do shit in orbit.

Nice music doe

I had to press Start, go to Settings, and then Log out. When I logged back in, that was no longer happening.

Agree. There is no stutter in the Xbox One version. IMHO, I think they should use the extra resources and leave it at 900p and give it more aggressive AA solution. It plays very smooth, much smoother than the PS4 version, but aliasing is a little worse than the PS4 version.

That's a bit dramatic. They're quite close. "Much" is misleading. They are both overall smooth and discrepancies are small.

So what is the point of the Grimoire cards? Are they just Glimmer/extra story info?

They've said-- but not yet revealed-- that there will be an additional purpose for collecting grimoire cards beyond what they provide at face value which is fleshing out the lore of Destiny; though right now they're not even doing that since most of them are "redacted". I personally just like hunting for those damn ghosts.

Whaaaat. I don't notice anything about the X1 version playing smoother. What I do notice is how much less detailed the environments are at a distance on it.

After playing this beta on both platforms, I can honestly say that it's more enjoyable on the X1 for me. It runs smoother to me and I prefer the X1 controller much more for FPS overall.

PS4 version is still amazing all around and I would be just as happy owning the PS4 version.

Guess I'll have to try and get a XB1 code and see what y'all are talking about.

Can't imagine is being smoother, but I do love the xb1 controller.

Not sure if this is good or bad. I have this worry that Destiny will have a really small PvE area and will try to nickle and dime you with more zones as DLC.
Each location in Destiny is a grand open space for exploration, adventures, and discovery. These first 5 destinations (Mars, Venus, the Moon, Old Russia, and The Tower) are a sampling of what's to come; Destiny's fiction clearly establishes all the planets, moons, asteroids and other features of our solar system as fair game for exploration.
The question is what is meant by "a sampling of what's to come"? Is what's to come referring to the released game or dlc? That isn't enough content if they are referring to the released version. Assuming each planet's area is the same size we're talking about the total PvE area only being 4 times as big as the beta. I'm looking for a PvE area at least as large as Borderlands 2.

Gaz, you play a Titan right? Does their slide go further than the other classes? It seemed like you slid double the length of me when we'd face off, lol.

I honestly didn't notice any differences in terms of smoothness (haven't flipped back and forth to compare directly yet though, just played on PS4 while I was waiting for the XB1 download), but the controls feel much better on XB1. I got nearly double the number of "Precise Kills" on that first mission on XB1 compared to PS4, simply because lining up headshots reliably was way easier with the XB1 controller.

Is there anywhere in-game or on bungie.net where you can check on your progress for the various enemy kill challenges that sometimes pop-up in game (like 250/1000 Fallen kills, etc)? It seems to indicate you get Grimoire points/cards (?) at certain benchmarks but I can't find your current progress on them anywhere unless I'm blind. I'm not real clear on the navigation on bungie.net for them either.

Eh, PVP has sucked tonight. I'm either on a team that sucks balls and it's frustrating, or a team that's too dominant and it's boring. No tight matches. No middle ground.

Also, that day off regressed my skills big time. I'm a poor to mediocre player to begin with so it's been rough.

I miss Mars and Earth too. =(

The PS4 version is smoother now thanks to the update. Not sure why those who just now tried the Xbone beta are thinking it's smoother, it isn't it's just that the Xbox One beta already had the fixes since today it just started.

getting nothing but 'unable to find a match for your fireteam' after starting a new character on x1... any info on that one guys? i never ran into that one on ps4 yet. always interesting seeing the different 'bugs' across platforms, haha

Does race have any effect besides cosmetic?

Nope, only cosmetic so far... But why you'd ever want to be anything other than an exo is another question :)
