Loving how smooth the beta is now! There were constant frame rate drops and stutters over the weekend, but now everything is silky smooth. Seems the IQ and shadow resolution have taken a small hit, but it's a great trade. Destiny now feels absolutely perfect to me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who found the Beta gameplay to be bad. Don't get me wrong...the world is beautiful....but I would gladly give up detail for better mechanics/physics/story/voice acting, etc. First I want to know why there are only 3 classes. Their easily could have been 2 more to mix it up. They couldn't make a better create a character than the few preset options? I couldn't rotate my player to even see if her was long or short in the back(really this is the least of my worries). Next...I thought this was supposed to be a MMO. It's not. I also though this was supposed to be an RPG....seems to me once you open the other There are other people in the world, however there is a limit on the amount of players. And not only that...Im pretty sure there is a limit to the amount of people you can explore with. I enjoyed doing the missions at the time...but in retrospect...they were pretty shitty. Go to tower(loading). Go to orbit(Loading). It was a load fest from the very beginning. I hope that's just because it was the first set of 5 missions but if what we saw was a precursor of how missions are done and what is to come then I'd have to go out on a limb here and say Im not looking forward to it. Go here...listen to an un-animated ghost. Go there...kill a few guys. This has been done before hundreds of times. This game feels like Borderlands with a Halo suit on. Soon after I beat the missions and decided to give pvp a shot, I was at a level 5 with a few upgraded pieces of gear upon entering. I did not enjoy my time playing it. In fact...I turned it off completely after about ten matches and went to play Dark Souls on my 360. I found this to be the most horrible part of the game. After having realized that being 3 levels lower than the rest of the people playing(who were for the most part all level 8) that I was super underpowered. I would get one shot nearly every time. Even when I was firing first...my weapon seemed to do minimal damage. So between being jelly and trying to stay safe from the vehicles(most OP vehicles of any game in my opinion) I just couldn't get into it. Not only that...I found the pvp to be really slow. I started a Warlock class and the double jump/float is god awful. Running feels more like a power walk and Not only that...the amount of one-hit killers in the game is ridiculous too. If I wanna play one hit kills, I'd go play hardcore in CoD or better yet Golden Gun on Goldeneye for the 64. (Bungie has their own Golden Gun btw). Also, what's up with the lack of blood or oil coming from the machines? Shooting thing's doesn't cause some kind of reaction? Im not even a proprietor for blood in games. That said, Im sure there are a ton of fanboys for this game already and that's fine, but to me...Bungie seems like they just didn't want to let Halo go. Everything about Destiny screams Halo to me. The "Fallen"(might as well have been called the "flood"...still starts with an F) arrive in ships and jump off the platforms just like Halo. The sniper looks and feels like the snipers in the Halo franchise. The Guardians all feel like a wannabe Master Chief...especially when they put their helmets on. The Sparrow is a watered down ghost and your Ghost is a wannabe Cortana.

Look...I realize it's "Just the Beta". But let's be real. The game isn't going to change all that much. Truth is that the FPS genre just isn't what it used to be and sadly Destiny is not the future of the FPS. It's just another chapter In a book with all the same shit as the other FPS's out there. They're working on a few things they can tweak but mostly they're just making sure the network wont crash and the servers are operating correctly for launch day and leaving themselves a window for repair time. . What, because I get to change boots and gloves I'm supposed to be impressed. I will be picking this game because I love to play Coop....but...I feel it's only going to grab my attention for a few weeks or so. It reminds me of Titanfall in the fact that the hype has surpassed the final product. I feel like game developers and the producing companies need to stop the Pre-release hype and possibly cut down in advertising. They need to figure a way to keep the mystique. I think the biggest fault is that this game does not identify itself as new and fresh...it's being compared to Borderlands and Halo so much that it turns this into a comparison match. For this game to have been "Great"...It needs it's own personality...and the one we were shown is just another sci-fi shooter.

I have to agree on pretty much all points. The world does look great, but the physics and shooting just don't feel great to me. I guess I'm just spoiled by PC shooters, and this game won't be coming out for PC for whatever reason. I had the same response after playing a few matches of PvP at level 5, that I was dying in 1-2 hits, and putting several bullets into an enemy didn't seem to do anything at all, this was on a server with 'leveling balanced' or whatever it was called as well.

The game felt like a combination of Halo, Borderlands, and Guild Wars 2, but not better (or as good) as any of them.

First Column:
Kinetic Damage

Second Column:
Steadyhand IS
Stable sight. Optimized for excellent recoil control.

Truesight IS
Flexible sight. Light, with good recoil control. Strong target acquisition.

Ranged Lens RLS3
Mid-range scope. Good effective range and recoil control. Heavy and slow.

Third Column:
Third Eye
Radar stays active while ADS.

Fourth Column:
Upgrade
Inc. weapon attack

Fifth Column:
Explosive Rounds
Volatile payload explodes on impact dealing a portion of the weapon's damage in an area.

Relic Iron Rounds
This ammunition considerably improves impact but fewer rounds can be carried in reserve.

Skip Rounds
Ceramic-jacketed rounds ricochet in hard surfaces. Their extreme density lets you carry more rounds in reserve. Added mass slows down weapon handling.

Sixth Column:
Lock In
Increases Attack but locks in all previous choices.

Jesus.

I've been playing with the Jigoku SR3 that was on sale yesterday, and I have to say that I might find it hard to go back to an auto rifle now. It's a little tough to use, but the benefits of the accuracy and especially the high impact damage are worth it.

Yeah, I already submitted it as a bug. It's definitely supposed to let you, but just an oversight (they were probably looking for the keyword "gold")

I picked up a three-month code on Amazon and got it within minutes
I got an error code 'buzzard' and looked it up and it doesn't sound like it is a bug.

360 plays must have gold to play the game.

Hey guys, just downloading now and have a quick question.

How is the story and the characters? I don't really like FPS games and have no plan to do any multi-player stuff, but the game looks really great aesthetically so wanted to give it a try.

Thanks :)

There really isn't any at this point. I suspect that they're going to introduce more story/character stuff in the full game, but at this point it's pretty barren.

Man, if the blue weapons have all those sweet upgrades, imagine the Legendaries and Exotics!

You can actually check out the Legendary weapon stats when you're at a vendor. The only major catch is that this is where the crafting comes into play, so in addition to needing money to unlock them, you'll need to gather resources to perform the upgrade. What's nice, though, is that the weapon descriptions will tell you where to find the resource in question.

Game seemed really slow. Forgot this was only 30fps for this type of game. I can't go back to that. It's very slow. Game plays just like Halo to me. I've played every one of those Halos and I complained about the same thing. Slow. That's why for me, COD took over. Fast and smooth. And then TF took that a step further. Even BF has the speed of 60fps now.

But this?

No. Feels slow. Feels like there's input lag on the controller. It looks great and all. But ya. A shame. A new game like this on PS4 and X1, and it's 30fps for a First Person Shooter. Boooooo. BF4 got so much better jumping to 60.

Man I love some of the upgrades attached to these guns. I was having a ball when I upgraded my scout rifle so that kills with it reduce grenade cool down. Coupled with that, my armour selection increased the reload speed of scout rifles so with enough enemies around I could easily refill that grenade meter in no time and dispatch a big cluster of goons.

too bad you feel this way. its your opinion though.

Mine is very different. Yes its similar to Halo.. I wonder why? Bungie is comfortable in a certain genre. lets be honest. If Microsoft had allowed Bungie to leave with Halo this would be called Halo:Destiny.

They started with a fantasy themed game and quickly realized where the passion was for them.

Its obvious loot games and the drive for better stats inst a draw for you. For me its like crack. I will run the same mission 10 times for the hint at a better glove.

The idea of going on this journey for the next 10 years is exciting to me. My friends have all joined a clan and we are ready for whatever this game turns out to be.

I can't really agree with your games need to stop with the HYPE!! comment. Bungie has done a piss poor job of showing this game off. Most of the HYPE you talk about has come from gamers and people excited to play. That's a lot different then what happened with Titanfall.

Same with me.

It's a game I've always wanted. Halo (or other great single player FPS) in a big world with WRPG-ish quests and co-op with friends. I could take or leave the running into randoms.

Borderlands was great, but the gunplay wasn't on par with great FPS, and I'm not a huge fan of cel shaded graphics.

Are there different sights for the weapons? I haven't been able to find how to switch them.

Press Triangle (or Y) to get back to that piece of equipment's upgrade screen, and then you can make your changes. Something as simple as switching between a sight and a scope can have a dramatic impact on how quickly you can bring up ADS.

I'm very sorry to hear that something like how many framerates you're getting shown in a second prevents you from playing a great game.

Not sure they improved pulse rifles or not, but I got one with a nice red-dot scope and I am leveling people. All the guns feel really balanced for the most part as far as PVP goes. I would say TTK on the auto rifle is still a little high. You land all your shots and they are down in a flash.

I was getting merk'd real bad by someone with a fusion rifle. One hit kills with full shields and health. Crazy strong and deadly. Anyone come across a FR like that?

I stayed up until 5:30 am playing last night. I wake up for work at 6:30. I am z fucking zombie right now and all I can think about is getting home to play Destiny.

Destiny or sleep.

The struggle is real.

AR for PvP, Jigoku for PvE. Can't lose.

Almost level 6 now. Told you I was a beast.
Nice! You'll be up to 8 in no time. Just keep collecting those uncommon weapons/armor.

What class are you playing with?

Everything's coming up Millhouse good job dude.

And does it actually "lock" lock your choices? As in, it's permanent?

I'd hope so. Tough decisions.

That's correct, yes. I have to imagine it's a fairly significant attack increase to make the decision a little more wrenching: do you go for it and lock your weapon out of its utility, or do you keep it open to have some more flexibility between PvE and PvP? It definitely gets more painful with the Legendary equipment, since you have to consider the amount of crafting that goes into them, as well.

Disagree. If you're gonna parkour around and float in the sky, there's got to be a trade off.
There's got to be a trade off? Well, no, not really. I mean they can do it, but it's not like they have to.

Eliminating that horrible mechanic would open the gameplay a lot, and make the game way more fun and interesting, that's for sure.

Moving and shooting >>> Moving or shooting. No contest.

I can live with ADS (although they should definetly reduce the accuracy penalty when you don't use it) but seeing your bullets go all over the place randomly whenever you are not on the ground (even while using ADS) is just awful.

TTK is weird for almost everything since it seems like latency is currently playing a large role in when damage actually registers. I've had a lot of instances where it'll say that I killed someone with melee, but I'll still die to a shotgun blast my victim made well after I hit them.

And yeah, Fusion Rifles have extremely high damage at point blank range. It's like a more powerful shotgun with added charge-up time.

Ok, so I was in my second Crucible match on the Moon map after the beta came back up last night. I was zooming to B and i am almost positive that one of the players cloaked?!?

I know this is a later game perk for one of the classes,(hunter?) but are there a few people who have access to this early? Or am I just crazy?

I agree but not with the bolded. I don't think it has anything to do with 30fps. This game is just slower paced and doesn't feel like Halo at all.
