May 6, 2016: Captain America 3
July 8, 2016: Doctor Strange
May 5, 2017: Thor 3
July 28, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2

May 3, 2019: Iron Man 4

Would be cool if I get a few right lol
Zero chance they wait till 2019 for a IM4 movie. That would be 6 years between 3 and 4 and 2 avengers movies. Not happening.

Gonna edit because I realized I did something stupid. Had two Ant-Man films in Phase 3.

I just realized the robot in this pic is ultron from the trailer.

I still wouldn't say Iron Man 4 is even a sure thing. I can easily see it never happening.

I guess it depends if they go the James Bond route and just recast the character and no one in-universe notices. Then they could use IM4 for that.

They are really secretive about vision, no prop, didnt appear in the footage, even in poster you see him from a distance.

Maybe they're not to sure how the audience react to it? Seems like they take a very direct to comic book look with the color, complete with the cape too

In the past I would have thought that was necessary, but then RDJ was like "why not?".

I guess he likes 50 million dollar checks.

They could just start aging Iron Man alongside RDJ, so like as he gets older and so he can't do much action anymore. They can
still keep him in to do other things.

The mass audience knows JARVIS, they aren't going to market his transformation into The Vision ahead of time (I would guess)...or at least not very much. It will serve as a genuine surprise for a lot of people I think.

I don't see IM4 happening, also the interview mentions that they'd like to keep doing releases like this year and the next, where they have one established series and a new one (so Black Panther and/or Captain Marvel for 2017 are very likely).

I hope that Tony calls out JARVIS on that, like he did on IM1 with the Mk3 colours XD

One of their biggest properties and RDJ wants to do another one. It will be made.

Also thats what Feige said would be ideal, but nothing is set in stone. They will not do a May release for a new character, so they only way that would happen is if they did Thor 3 in May 2017 and somebody knew in November, based on your thought of no Iron Man 4.

For the love of God, they need to get Chris Evans shirtless again in this movie. The fact that he never showed the goods in Cap 2 is almost unforgivable, and he looks even bigger now than he was in Cap 1. Henry Cavill is single-handedly winning the Marvel/DC Pec Race; it's time Marvel fought back.

I don't know that that's true. I feel like both Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Olsen have way better pecs than Gal Gadot.

... I'm trying to figure out what sort of nightmare would occur if you swapped this to Scarlett Johansen/Cobie Smulders.

Goddam dat ripped Chris Evans. Daaaaaaammmmmmnnnn.

The write up regarding the trailer sounds amazing. Ultron will creep me the fuck out.

This looks OK. Although I'm not sure Cap [and Tony] will survive A3.

Once again, this projection puts it as just a single new franchise in Phase 3, with the others all being Phase 1 sequels and one Phase 2 sequel. I originally assumed the 2019 one would be Avengers 3 to both give Whedon a break if they want him back and also to provide more buildup, since the whole MCU so far has been building to Avengers 3.

Would also have given it a chance to put more new properties, especially given it looks like GOTG, a more cult comic, is going to be a big hit and prove they don't need to be A list or even B list heroes anymore as headliners, and the MCU itself is a draw if the movie is marketed well (which GOTG has been).

I thought IM3 seemed like a conclusion to the solo Iron Man films and that they would be targetting trilogies for the solo films, seemed to make sense to me.

I understand Marvel Studios only exist to make Marvel films but they have to be (should if they aren't) concerned about saturation and franchise (or universe in this case) fatigue that will hit the audience. The negative impact it could have on superhero films or worse just their films alone. Resulting in a situation where people get excited about Sony, Fox, and WB/DC even more so then they normally would because their films will appear fresher, new and more event like because they're aren't releasing films three times a year, annually.

Since theres no more solo Bat films, Until BvS proves to be a hit, the "event" films are going to be Star Wars, Avengers, Avatar Sequels, and TransFormers.

I don't think anyone else is keeping track, the casual movie goer...if they truly are casual movie goers could care less if there are 2 / 3 films staring marvel property. Just like a comicbook reader has his pull list, people will watch what they like to watch.

He had that wife-beater on in that scene with Black Widow and all the women would lose their minds. Sometimes the tease is better than all out shirtlessness.

Phase 3 of the MCU:

July 17, 2015: Ant-Man
May 6, 2016: Captain America 3
July 8, 2016: Doctor Strange
May 5, 2017: ??????
July 28, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2
November 3, 2017: ??????
May 4, 2018: ??????
July 6, 2018: ??????
November 2, 2018: ??????
May 3, 2019: ??????

This is our list of confirmed movies so far. Nothings set in stone for Dr. Strange yet, but I think the consensus here is that it will probably be the other 2016 movie so I just decided to toss it in there.

I think the most important thing to figuring out what is in Phase 3 is knowing whether Avengers 3 will be in May 2018 or 2019. A lot of us originally had it pinned in the 2019 date, but Feige saying that they want a new Avengers movie every three years seems to point towards it being in May 2018 which just made Phase 3 shorter by three movies.

Given that Thor 3 is a no-brainer, that leaves only one "unknown". Iron Man 4 is obvious from a business perspective so if they can renegotiate a deal with RDJ before then I can definitely see it happening. Otherwise if I was a betting man, I'd say the last film would either be Nova or Captain Marvel with either film being used to flesh out the cosmic side of the MCU started by GotG.
