Nintendo Downloads - July 2014

Another Monday is about to come where I'm envious of the sales and the games that NOE releases that NOA doesn't...wonder what surprises they'll have this week.

Maybe if you'd actually enjoyed some of the awesome stuff we got this past Thursday, you wouldn't be here 4 days later complaining about what another area is getting.

So the cashier told me that you apparently had to be a Power up pro member to get the buy 2 used Wii games get 1 free at gamestop. I'm pretty sure that was bullshit but I didn't bother arguing. Ended up getting No More Heroes 2 and Trauma Center
Btm3sSzCAAAPlAO.jpg:large

Cashier recommended Xenoblade. I wonder if it was a genuine recommendation or if she only recommended it because they got those Xenoblade/Metroid Prime shipments a while back

So what did you get for your 3rd game?
Or do you mean you didn't do the deal because of what the cashier said?

Didn't do it. I'm pretty sure you didn't need to be a Pro member but I didn't feel like arguing because I needed to pick up a friend. Didn't really want the 3rd game I had picked that much anyway

Anyone knows when Moon Chronicles episode 2 is coming out? It's been a few months and the trailer was out some time ago but I can't find any info on the release date.

I thought this was going to be faster...

Aww, that sucks.
Could've at least given whatever else away on the Free to a Good Home thread.

Ah well.

Ah well.

Why would I buy a game just to give it away in the Free to a Good Home thread? I mean I understand just giving away an old game you have but spending money on a game just to give it away on that thread sounds weird :P I'd understand if it were free but I'd have to spend money on it :lol

No no, I mean if you had gotten it for free.

I've bought new games to give them away for free before :þ

Oh :lol I was actually going to pick up Sin and Punishment as the 3rd game.

I barely have enough money for my games let alone other people ;_;

Watching some youtube on the Wii U browser right now. Why is it that sometimes the video will start off zoomed in? When I press the zoom button it'll just zoom in even further.

I'm sure you would've found a happy taker for that.

Neither do I, it's usually just cheap stuff. Ah well :þ

kidding

Edit: saw the price. Buahaha!

Oh man, Rainbow Bell Adventures is awesome. Fun little platformer, definitely recommend looking into it.

You can fly vertically in the levels for like 5 minutes and then it takes just as long to fall back down.

Edit: wish they'd stop saying the developer optimised the music to play at the same speed. They didn't, the SPC just does that. Another 50hz game that will play worse on U than it did on cart many years ago.

Wii U Virtual Console
Pop'n Twinbee Rainbow Bell Adventures

Had to google that one. And that didn't really explain anything, so I had to look up some gameplay on YouTube. I love how bizarre SNES games were.

Come on, NoA. You know you want to match it! (And remove that NES Remix qualification too)

Rainbow Bell Adventures! I knew it couldn't be far off. Will definitely get that one.
The discounts are a bit disappointing, wasn't SMB2 already 50% off a while ago?

Wii U VC has been great this month in Europe . Still far from JP.

I have only played and completed Unepic. Best game together with Toki Tori 2+ on the eShop imo.
It's a Metroidvania-RPG slower but more tactical. it has an inmensity of items, missions, challenges, references and parodies. Dialogue is a little cheesy but makes smiles.
20+ hours to complete for 9.99.

hey, thank you.
is it very hard? is it the 2d version of Dark/Demons souls? because that's my concern. I can't dedicate myself so much into a videogame, in these days.
is it easy to save your progress, or you are forced to invest 30/45 minutes before saving?

Don't have much interest in an on rails shooter

It's the best game of the bunch tho

Nah, it's quite easy really. Slightly tactical in that you have to pick the right weapons, but knowing which weapons to use really isn't complex at all.

Unless you play on hard mode, you can save anytime you want. You do have to go to a specific place to save, but you get an instant teleport for it and after returning to the game getting back to the place you were in is easy too as there are shortcut paths to each area.

sounds perfect to me...very tempted, I could bite it

Nothing for me, but pretty decent week overall. Nothing really exciting, though.

LEGO Ninjago: Nindroids €39.99/£34.992048

Wow, that's an oddly precise price ;)

It's easier. The minions don't give so many problems (usually) until the final stages. The hardest part are some tricky bosses.

To save the progress, it's like a Metroidvania, you have to visit certain rooms. The playtime is similar too, maybe it has less savepoint rooms (1 each world).
Later, you can get a magic to go back to savepoint room whenever.

Playing this at the moment, on hard where you need to go to save rooms. You get a 'teleport to save room' item early on, and near the save room is access to a room full of teleport doors which lead to each area (obviously you have to physically reach the door in each area to unlock it's corresponding door in the teleport door room.

I picked hard mode for a challenge, but it is tough when you foolishly die after 15-20 mins of dungeon crawling and have to go back to the save room.

As a metroidvania fan it's right up my street though! Off screen play works really well with this too.

I buy lots of Nintendo games, but never touched the estore very much. Picked up Pushmo World this week and I am loving it. Just going though it really quickly. Any puzzle type games you guys would recommend after it? I am thinking about Armillo, but before I spend the money wanted to know if there something else I should pick up first.

Didn't notice in the thread so I guess the news of US boxed NES remix (it did an art academy) and VC release of The Mysterious Murasame Castle on 7th August got their own threads...

Nothing we didn't already know. But...I did just buy Liberation Maiden on my iPhone for a buck. Also bought Ghost Trick (the full game) a while back, also for a buck on my phone.
Wasn't this some sort of visual novel instead of the rough round the edges flying shooter.

At least it does play similar to the non-existant American version this time.

This reminds me, is there a good contact to complain at in Konami because of how 50Hz completely kills the appeal and interest in purchasing these games (I feel 50Hz Pardious is neigh...). I tried in the past with SEGA and they were just "talk to Nintendo" which is useful as running into a wall

Wasn't that only for the 3DS version though?

Looks like a game called Ubongo will be removed from the (EU) 3DS eShop this Thursday.
Not just 3DS eShop but DSi Shop too. It is DSiWare. As for what it is, bad port of a board game.

My guess is it was licensed and has expired now.

great.
what about the gamepad item management, while playing on TV Screen?

what about the gamepad item management, while playing on TV Screen?

Works fine for me (obv in offscreen play inventory takes up whole of gamepad screen when you enter inventory). You touch the screen to open it and can set items to sets of buttons.

So you have L+y, L+b, L+x, L+a, then R+ all those, and also L+R plus y,b,x,a. So I keep melee weapons assigned to L+ybxa, projectiles like ice rod, bow to R+ybxa, and potions, teleports scroll are on the L+R slots.

Hopefully that makes sense. For example, say you open the inventory and assign a spear to R+x. In gameplay, hold the R bumper and press x to get your spear out, then without any bumpers pressed, ybxa are just your regular actions (attack, jump etc.)

What?! Didn't know this was a thing :( There's a GameStop near me that has lots of gems like Arc Rise Fantasia and Sakura Wars easily available. ;_;

Maybe, but in Australia we got fuck all.

Nothing comes out here any more due to classification costs.

None of last games games came out here. None of next weeks games will. None of this weeks either.

No Armillo. No Scram Kitty. No Shovel Knight.

Just got an external hard drive for my birthday, so have gone on a bit of a spree. Just downloaded things I had deleted for space, but have now downloaded Armillo. Hope it's as good as I have heard.

I'm playing through it right now. It's great!

It's kind of like if the Sonic series evolved in a completely different direction than it what it ended up doing.
