Captain Toad can't even jump, man.
To be fair, neither could ROB or Villager.

Captain Toad can't even jump, man.
Galactic Knight was in triple deluxe, no? Was Bandana Dee in that?
I'm pretty sure there are instances in 3D World where jumping would've made it a whole lot easier for him.Is that really true though? What if he just chooses not to?
Sounds like we need him playable to offset all the blue-hairs.

Looks plenty badass! Is this an appropriate time to get hype?
Captain Toad can't even jump, man.
I really hope it's this version of Isaac that Project M Isaac is based on, even though the game it's from sucks. Would make Isaac stand out a lot more.
he needs to wait for the tears of ridely fans to ripen further so his youth will forever be sustained
To be fair, neither could ROB or Villager.
Exactly. People who want Captain Toad are missing the point of the character. He's supposed to be weak and useless. That's why he's navigating the levels that way. Putting him in Smash would feel be out of character.Villager can jump into the ocean!
But anyway, not jumping is pretty much Captain Toad's defining characteristic.
Didn't stop modern Sonic.

You haven't played fighting games... ever have you? There are plenty of characters, who's entire point is thatExactly. People who want Captain Toad are missing the point of the character. That said, the "Captain Toad can't jump" thing would make impossible for him to in Smash.
Or SSB4's Samus.
Thank god it stopped Megaman and Pac-man's most recent incarnations. Hell, SSB4 Sonic and even Brawl Sonic are far from the worst Sonics there have been.
Hell, I don't really mind Brawl Sonic, but that's probably because I'm one of those weirdos who prefers the Adventure games to the Genesis ones (although I hate Heroes, Shadow, and 06).

Captain Toad can't even jump, man.
Also music quality was very important to the early games and, well...

I think Captain Toad is wanted mostly because he's the sole named Toad in the main Mario franchise. It's more that they want Toad and less that they want it to be this specific Toad.
I really don't think Captain Toad being able to jump, but just being really shitty at it, would be at all out of character. I mean, relatively few characters in Smash can jump once in their games, and an incredibly small amount can double jump.

Yes, and I am of the belief masahiro sakurai would figure something out. It's not like every game with modern Sonic sucks.
I also still don't understand the hate for the design, and probably never will.
You're aware that Smash Bros. is a not a traditional fighting game, but one mixed with a platformer, right? Including scrolling stages and whatnot.
None of those games rely on 2D platforming mechanics as much as Smash Bros., though.
I don't think Shadow really counts as a Sonic game. It's a spinoff.
And yes, the Adventures games (Especially 2) are worthy. Though I disagree that they surpass StH 1, 2, 3&K. In my opinion they started going downhill when they made character choices "because it's funny" or "for the kids" as opposed to real design reasons. Also music quality was very important to the early games and, well...

Toadsworth, Sunshine.
Sorry Heath.
... Hasn't AT Isaac been confirmed?
Pichu being a prime example.
Even though I'm still opposed to the idea of Captain Toad. I can't see it working. But I'd be glad if it does work and he makes it.
Oh wow at this Takamaru deconfirmation. Sorry guys, I know how excited you were.I'd feel the same way if Shulk got that treatment.
Which he won't.
Shulk will be a playable newcomer with his own newcomer trailer. It has to happen. It HAS TO.
Please.
Did you just lose a bet? What bet, if so?
Dat FYI lol
Still hoping for Isaac though. Were there any Brawl secret AT's already shown?
Where is Sheriff from? Also, Duck Hunt Dog should be in this pic.
Captain Toad can't even jump, man.
I don't know where you were looking then, because I have seen more people asking for the Duck Hunt Dog than for this Sheriff present in your picture. One of Nintendo's first arcade titles, if not the first, also called Sheriff.
The selection I gathered from the desires of the Internet. Duck Hunt Dog wasn't even on the radar and still isn't. It's why Toad and Blaziken got replaced as more recently their fans have died off a bit and been replaced by Captain Toad and Sceptile fans.
Most difficult character moveset ever. Or they could just base some of his moves off of Toad in general, since they do that all the time with other characters.
Shadow was a secret AT wasn't he? He's been shown in smash WiiU/3ds. not sure about the others though.
Going back to see the hype then the reactions from last night was amazing. I'm kinda pessimistic about the roster, so at least we can get delicious de-confirmations. Soon Shulk will be de-confirmed too.Oh wow at this Takamaru deconfirmation. Sorry guys, I know how excited you were.I'd feel the same way if Shulk got that treatment.

Maybe Captain Toad could just use a spring to do his normal jump. That could be a pretty unique character.

... if the leaker can mix up Chrom... maybe he missed a part of the match where he saw Shulk... maybe he missed Shulk emerging from a round, plastic capsule.
Much like his mistake with Chrom, the leaker made a mistake with Shulk, who is in reality part of Dunban's Final Smash.

Sounds good to me.Both of them should be playable so everyone can do what they have always wanted to do and shoot that bastard laughing dog.
The Shulk disconfirmation will be amazing. Though I'd like it if we could still get a Xenoblade stage on the Wii U version, even without a playable representative.

Alright then. I just found weird that Sheriff and Sukapon are in the list but DHD isn't. It doesn't really matter, though, I don't think he has big chances of being Smash...Didn't make this until right before E3. The initial rosters I'd agree had Duck Hunt Dog on them, but his popularity died soon after that.
Sheriff still had some support over on Smashboards at the time, and was listed on a handful of other sites in their list of wanted newcomers. By then the duck hunt dog wasn't on any top 10 lists.
