Galactic Knight was in triple deluxe, no? Was Bandana Dee in that?

Galacta Knight wasn't, but Dark Meta Knight was as a boss for Dedede's campaign.

Bandana Dee would appear before bosses and toss Kirby a health item.

Edit: Actually forgot that Rick did have a cameo in Triple Deluxe.

Sounds like we need him playable to offset all the blue-hairs.

Looks plenty badass! Is this an appropriate time to get hype?

Even If he is still an AT, I hope that they at least will use this desgin.

he needs to wait for the tears of ridely fans to ripen further so his youth will forever be sustained

We won't have any tears. We will just sigh and go "Again, eh? Well, maybe next time". At least those of us who are, y'know, actually people you'd like around and not 5-year olds like on Miiverse/Smashboards' Smash 4 section.

Villager can jump into the ocean!

But anyway, not jumping is pretty much Captain Toad's defining characteristic.
Exactly. People who want Captain Toad are missing the point of the character. He's supposed to be weak and useless. That's why he's navigating the levels that way. Putting him in Smash would feel be out of character.

Didn't stop modern Sonic.

Or SSB4's Samus.
Thank god it stopped Megaman and Pac-man's most recent incarnations. Hell, SSB4 Sonic and even Brawl Sonic are far from the worst Sonics there have been.
Hell, I don't really mind Brawl Sonic, but that's probably because I'm one of those weirdos who prefers the Adventure games to the Genesis ones (although I hate Heroes, Shadow, and 06).

I think Captain Toad is wanted mostly because he's the sole named Toad in the main Mario franchise. It's more that they want Toad and less that they want it to be this specific Toad.

I really don't think Captain Toad being able to jump, but just being really shitty at it, would be at all out of character. I mean, relatively few characters in Smash can jump once in their games, and an incredibly small amount can double jump.

You haven't played fighting games... ever have you? There are plenty of characters, who's entire point is that

It's not like every game with modern Sonic sucks.
I also still don't understand the hate for the design, and probably never will.

You're aware that Smash Bros. is a not a traditional fighting game, but one mixed with a platformer, right? Including scrolling stages and whatnot.

I don't think Shadow really counts as a Sonic game. It's a spinoff.

And yes, the Adventures games (Especially 2) are worthy. Though I disagree that they surpass StH 1, 2, 3&K. In my opinion they started going downhill when they made character choices "because it's funny" or "for the kids" as opposed to real design reasons. Also music quality was very important to the early games and, well...

It all depends on how Sakurai feels about the character. If he is important enough and Sakurai thinks he'd bring something unique to Smash then certainly the jump limitation won't stop him from being in.

Just making up a possible workaround, but for an Up - B recovery move have Captain Toad scurry up a ladder in mid-air, that will then fall and hit anyone underneath it.

Corny lyrics aside, are you implying the music in recent Sonic games is bad? Because boy, are you wrong. I'd argue the music is pretty much the only redeeming quality of many of the pretty bad Sonic games in the first place, including Sonic 06.

Toadsworth, Sunshine.

I kind of want to play as Captain Toad in Break The Targets...

Pichu being a prime example.

Even though I'm still opposed to the idea of Captain Toad. I can't see it working. But I'd be glad if it does work and he makes it.

Yes, and I am of the belief masahiro sakurai would figure something out.

As far as your top point goes, Muh childhood though. As you can assume I have no issue with modern Sanic. I don't even hate boom sonic... Ok knuckles looks terrible but the rest of them are fine.

None of those games rely on 2D platforming mechanics as much as Smash Bros., though.

Depends on how you play mahvel .

That said I am sure they could figure something out.

I donno, I kinda like the extreme horridness of the stories of the 3D Sonic games before Sonic Unleashed. They were horrible, horrible stories with horrible voice acting, dialog, and direction, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss them. They made me laugh a lot, a hell of a lot more than the recent Sonic games do.

Toadsworth, Sunshine.

Holy shit how did I forget, this is my favorite Mario game, too.
Although, it did kind of introduce the Toad Brigade.

Oh he made it.
Under Peaches dress.

Oh wow at this Takamaru deconfirmation. Sorry guys, I know how excited you were. :( I'd feel the same way if Shulk got that treatment.

Which he won't.

Shulk will be a playable newcomer with his own newcomer trailer. It has to happen. It HAS TO.

Please.

... if the leaker can mix up Chrom... maybe he missed a part of the match where he saw Shulk... maybe he missed Shulk emerging from a round, plastic capsule.

Aww man.

I'm so sorry heath. Just woke up and saw the picture of the day and immediately went 'oh no, poor heath!'

My condolences.

At least he has little mac status, now. Assist trophy today, playable tomorrow.

Where is Sheriff from? Also, Duck Hunt Dog should be in this pic.

One of Nintendo's first arcade titles, if not the first, also called Sheriff.

The selection I gathered from the desires of the Internet. Duck Hunt Dog wasn't even on the radar and still isn't. It's why Toad and Blaziken got replaced as more recently their fans have died off a bit and been replaced by Captain Toad and Sceptile fans.

Captain Toad can't even jump, man.

Most difficult character moveset ever. Or they could just base some of his moves off of Toad in general, since they do that all the time with other characters.

Much like his mistake with Chrom, the leaker made a mistake with Shulk, who is in reality part of Reyn's Final Smash.

I don't know where you were looking then, because I have seen more people asking for the Duck Hunt Dog than for this Sheriff present in your picture.

Going back to see the hype then the reactions from last night was amazing. I'm kinda pessimistic about the roster, so at least we can get delicious de-confirmations. Soon Shulk will be de-confirmed too.
Just kidding, he won't even be an AT
.

Maybe Captain Toad could just use a spring to do his normal jump. That could be a pretty unique character.

Similar to how Little Mac is unique in which he strongly excels in one aspect (ground) but is terrible at another (air) I think Captain Toad should be unique in that he plays like an agile / light character but in terms of health can take a beating like a heavy. In return don't kill his air game necessarily as it'd be too similar to Little Mac, but rather just his recovery. In 3D World for example, Toad had the shortest jumps as well as the fastest falling speed of the cast.

Both of them should be playable so everyone can do what they have always wanted to do and shoot that bastard laughing dog.

Nope. Not letting this sway my beliefs. He'll be a playable newcomer with his own trailer! I'm sure of it!

Much like his mistake with Chrom, the leaker made a mistake with Shulk, who is in reality part of Dunban's Final Smash.

FTFY.

The Shulk disconfirmation will be amazing. Though I'd like it if we could still get a Xenoblade stage on the Wii U version, even without a playable representative.

That shit would be glorious.

4chan and Smash Boards would be going fucking nuts!

" LEAKIER BTFO "

Didn't make this until right before E3. The initial rosters I'd agree had Duck Hunt Dog on them, but his popularity died soon after that.

Sheriff still had some support over on Smashboards at the time, and was listed on a handful of other sites in their list of wanted newcomers. By then the duck hunt dog wasn't on any top 10 lists.

Alright then. I just found weird that Sheriff and Sukapon are in the list but DHD isn't. It doesn't really matter, though, I don't think he has big chances of being Smash...

If Captain Toad were to be playable, I'd think he'd be a weird physics character a la Luigi, but in a different way. He'd be the fastest of the Mario characters, however he'd be very heavy. He'd have a good Up B, but his jumps would be really short, kinda like the opposite of a floaty. His attacks would generally be Ganondorfy, powerful, and somewhat slow compared to other characters, but still fast enough he doesn't feel gimped. Attacks could include his pickaxe, stunning people with his head flash light, a down aerial dive based on the cat powerup, a Bowser Bomb type attack involving his extremely heavy backpack, and maybe other powerups from the games he's been in if they needed to stretch it a bit further. His final smash would most likely involve the Toad Brigade.

Bored so going to take more of a crack at this
Up B: Power Squat Jump. Charges for a short bit (reduces downward momentum if used in the air), then releases a huge jump. Doesn't leave him in a help less state, so it'll be how he uses a lot his aerial moves.
Neutral B: Flashlight. Activates a flash light that will stop incoming, non projectile attacks for a small amount of time, and stuns/trips upon activation. After it goes out, it can't be used again for about 10 seconds.
Forward B: Cat Suit Slam. Jumps a bit (only if on the ground) then charges downward diagnally. Jumps off of and meteor slams opponents.
Down B: Backpack Drop. Falls backfirst, crushing opponents. Can be cancelled at the cost of a helpless state, a la Dedede's Up B.

Forward and Downwards tilts, smashes, and aerials would involve his pick axe. Neutrals would be a weak punch/kick type deal. Upward attacks would involve his bulb.
