Sorry but I guess I'm gonna be against GAF's consensus on this one.
I really liked the movie. Didn't love it but I seriously wondered where the hatred for it came from by the time the credits rolled. It's not a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination, but no superhero movie is. There are some weird scenes and some really shit dialogue, but it was beautifully shot (it is a Zack Snyder movie after all), casting was spot on (except maybe for Amy Adams as Lois Lane, but more Amy Adams is always a good thing) and overall it was really enjoyable.
The flashbacks never felt confusing to me, except for the one where he's a kid and he pretends to be a caped hero... who is he imitating exactly? It can't be Superman.
My other major grievance it's the overdone Jesus analogy. It was reeeeally heavy handed. Making Clark be exactly 33 years old when he first puts on the cape? Come on, son.
I also thought the complaints about them destroying the whole city were greatly exaggerated. The giant machine makes the most damage, and then Supes and Zod destroy maybe 5 buildings at most, and mostly because of Zod not holding back.
But yeah, both me and my GF really enjoyed it and are really excited for Batman v Superman now.
Let the shitstorm begin.
