What are the walls made of? Is that plaster?
Finishing my basement and have decided to go front projector + screen for the home entertainment setup.
Does anyone have experience with this being your primary gaming setup? Pros/Cons?
I imagine the immersion would be amplified on a 110+ inch screen but wondering if it makes games like FPS or Sports harder since you would have to literally look up/down/right/left to cover all your spots.
Worth it in the end?

Classic gaming setup in my basement. That's a Sony BVM (20F1U) running pure RGB, via scart to BNC. You can't see in these pictures, but I have my snes, nes, genesis, pc engine duo-R and saturn hooked up. This is the result of 20+ years of collecting, as I haven't really sold any of my original hardware and am now 34 years old.

Well, I definitely thought about it but in the end decided not to due to the additional cost, time and complexity involved.
My budget had already blown out to over $3.5k on it as I had to buy everything from scratch, i.e. PC, speakers, amplifier, 2 x screens, IPAC controller & wiring, buttons, cabinet, Star Trek TNG decals, proper widebody table legs, stainless steel lockdown bar and side rails, hardened safety glass etc...the list went on and on!
It also took a huge amount of time getting all the various software working together as well e.g. HyperPin frontend, Visual Pinball, Future Pinball, getting the playfield, back glass and dot matrix display to work in sync, downloading ALL the back glass images, downloading all the original flyers/instructions for the actual tables, generating sample videos of each table to display as you cycle through them, and also included using Excel to generate a 50,000 line registry file to automatically resize all 300+ tables to fit my screen dimensions and apply other default config settings (otherwise I'd have had to do them all manually)!! In total it took me close to 100 hours from start to finish!
As I said...it was definitely a labour of love and I am very happy with the way it turned out (certainly has the 'wow' factor when people see it running!)...but probably one that I wouldn't choose to do again

Your pinball machine is amazing and you should be proud of yourself. I'm doing a Mame machine next year and a pinball machine after that. Yours is very inspiring and I think it's the most impressive single item in this thread.
No sir, sad situation but I'm already half way back to the point I was at 200,000/400,000GS. Sucks but enough time has passed for me to be "over it"

It's nothing special. Something I found at an office store a while ago (Staples, maybe?). I liked the very simple, clean design. I ended up mounting a pair of wire management racks to the bottom to contain the insane number of wires. I haven't really re-wired the setup properly since adding a second PC and a third monitor, however, but when done correctly you really shouldn't see many wires at all which is nice. It's great for shoving your PC in the corner section of the desk, though, I must say.

Didn't care for it much and went back to using a regular one. Might be better if I sat at a different height.
WTB mousepad with boobs and butt on it at the same time. Preferably a single character in a hypersextended contorted pose for my viewing/rubbing pleasure.

Absolutely amazing monitor. Best LCD I've ever used.
It's an MVA panel as opposed to IPS or TN which means much deeper contrast (akin to a mid-range plasma - nowhere near as dark as a Pioneer Kuro, of course). It's the only 1440p MVA panel currently available.
Really, the only thing missing is support for high refresh rates and all that comes with it (strobing backlight and g-sync, for instance). Unfortunately, with LCDs, you always have to give up something and I actually find that a good contrast ratio is the most important piece to consider. The brightly glowing backlights of TN and (especially) IPS monitors can be rather distracting.
That's not to say it handles motion poorly, however. It's just as fast as a 60Hz TN panel, from what I've seen. There's definitely blurring in motion as you'd expect but it's much better than older VA and IPS panels.
Trying to picture how that would work...some of fetal pose or something?

Was given to me by a friend many years ago. We both had industry connections at one point. All I will say is I honestly don't know where he got it from exactly, but it was a gift. One of the very few "can't replace it" items in my collection.

So, today, I finally got rid of my janky, particle board TV stand and replaced it with something legit.
Close up:
Bonus: I ditched my old sofa, too, so now, across from the above, I have a two-seat recliner with a center console and cup holders.
I just wish I could do something about the wires from the TV.

Put your TV on the stand, put the soundbar either in front of it, if it'll fit under the frame, or wall mount it slightly above the TV so that the wires are hidden.

They sell a plastic molding in electronics stores (bought mine at bestbuy I believe) that you paint the same color as your wall, mount it, and pass your cables through. It is still a bit noticeable, but not as bad as having the cables hanging everywhere. Costs around 30$.

It's all in what you buy or how you modify it honestly. I recommend checking them out in person at the store rather then online. You can make a better judgement on the durability of the product based on your needs.
Depends. They have great stuff with great quality and also a lot of garbage.

My table tops were ten bucks and sturdy as hell. I could have done better with the legs. They were 3 dollars each and with only four they were kinda wobbly.

I have an ikea desk. Its solid, and sturdy. I've moved it quite a bit I love it. This is a 3 year old pic but it looks the same.
Haven't hooked any of my consoles up to it. Just my PC. The consoles are hooked up to the 23" Asus whenever they are in the room. Really good response time.
