I always found Smash's rumors and leaks hilarious for many reasons. Mainly, Smash is only game that got A LOT OF RUMORS and LEAKS comparing to other fighting games in my experience.

I would attribute that to the comparative popularity the Smash Bros. games have in relation to other fighting games, and the fact it's a mascot fighter, and as such, its characters are even more important than regular fighting game character rosters.

You know, just comparing the Sticker Star portion of the Paper Mario stage to its origin, I never realized how well Paper Mario areas actually work as Smash Bros. stages.

They're flat, floating dioramas. Like they're tailor made to be Smash Bros. stages already.

As somebody else said, it's the Japanese artbook the Monado Archives. If you are a big fan of Xenoblade you should really get it, it's quite lovely even if you can't read Japanese.

If he's not on the main roster I think he will be DLC. He would bring a lot of content to the game and is a huge fan favorite. Both Nintendo and fans would justify people paying for a Snake pack.

Plus the fact that Smash has always had a couple out-of-left-field characters on its roster creates the feeling that anything is possible. Even the craziest suggestions come with a bit of built-in credibility; people think, "well, if Wii Fit Trainer could get on the roster, why not this character..."

Trailer reveal:

A silhouette of Solid Snake lying on the ground, looking unconscious. Then suddenly, a figure in a weird armor suit wielding a sword being knocked back. Then he mutters "What is this power..?" He poses, and then "GRAY FOX wants to be hurt MORE!?"

Then suddenly, a figure wearing a hat and carrying a baseball bat appears...looks like he is their opponent. It's Ness, with his smug look on his face! Then Gray Fox and Ness resumes the fight, The cyborg is at a total disadvantage, his sword being knocked back by a simple yoyo swing. Ness is ready to launch his PK Fire when suddenly, an attack from above cut the battle.

The figure from above, descended, and muttered "it's going to be alright." Then he shouted "Jumpstart the economy. What.. a..load..of bull***!!!" He poses, and then "RAIDEN shows his nature!" Rules of Nature kicks in the background, with all the fights showcasing their moves.

It's also the best selling fighting game by a wide margin and only pulls from established, existing characters, so it makes sense.

I still can't believe we got a Thousand Year Door stage in partial either. I mean, who would have thought the ship from the beginning of Chapter 5 to a game that came out ten years ago and has since been forgotten by its own series would make it in as a stage in Smash Bros.?

Both this and the Wii U's Star Fox stage have me excited for the future prospect of stages. I figured a lot of games had missed their chance, but now that Sakurai is willing to dip into games that came out pre-Brawl, I have renewed confidence.

It was. Sakurai realized what a horrible mistake he made when he designed the SwapNote/Miiverse stage to include people's real notes and posts

Yep, I agreed with both of you. Second place would go with Marvel Vs. Capcom franchise. I always fascinated by franchise that can pulled a lot of characters from different IPs because we wouldn't know who would make in. Also it always provided a lot of discussions and speculations.
