Apparently Steam thread has an actual post credits spoiler? And a screenshot?

Edit: Hooooooooooooooly shit. That's amazing.

All I can do is shake my head at people doubling down on the "spoilers don't matter" notion here. If you don't care, just say so and don't get indignant when people get annoyed by you spoiling stuff for them. It's like vehemently arguing that I don't need to hold doors open for people right behind me. Yeah, no one's legally bound to hold open doors, but it takes such a modicum of courtesy to do so that it's pathetic to get up in arms when someone calls you out for not doing it.

Assuming the original title said who was in the post-credits scene, it could've said "major character appears in GotG post-credits".

To the title-change happy mod:

People aren't saying spoilers don't matter, we're just acknowledging how it's been general knowledge for months that Thanos was going to be in GoTG. There is no spoiler here.

LOL @ this spoiler stuff still going. Just woke up to find 13 pages of this stuff.

Has it been answered why officially released TV show previews/promo material for the following week's episodes can't be talked about, yet stuff like this can.

Would people consider it a spoiler if we talked about how Tom Hanks
gets off the island, reunites with his wife - who's since remarried, before leaving her again
in Cast Away?

You've missed so much.

I never heard it. Is it too much to ask a thread like this one to have a title like "prominent Marvel character appears in GotG post-credits scene"? And that's not a rhetorical question, I'm wondering if that's really too much to ask.

I tried asking, but Thanos.

Yeah because that castaway spoiler is totally the same as talking about a character that was announced in may of 2012.

I looked at a few pages, but when arguments seemed to go in circles and shouting, I stopped around page 7 or 8.

Oh, so you missed the part Bobby called you out...

It was all in the trailer, so yes

FRAUD!

While this thread is hilarious, I don't like that mod(s) is changing the title of every other threads just for joking purposes. I think that is a bit of crossing the line. Just saying.

May as well cross post in here to keep the Steam thread from being contaminated.

Relax, he was shown in some of the trailers. That said though, I'm seeing it on Monday! Looking forward to it immensely, already heard about the post credits sequence and can't wait for it... mega spoilers about post credits...
Fucking Howard the Duck played by Nathan Fillion!!!!

They haven't added them to the film yet til the official release. Fortunately our Russian friends with camcorders give zero fucks about such trivialities.

And yes, footage is lurking online.

One of the many sources:

Interesting fact about the spoilers I posted that I don't think many have picked up on yet.

The official release for GOTG is August 1st, guess which film came out on August 1st exactly 28 years ago? That's right, Howard the Duck

Thanos uncovered the Watergate scandal. He's also on the Apple Board of Directors thanks to buying huge amounts of stock with his shrimping empire money.

So then TV previews and promos for the week ahead should be fair game in topic titles as well, right?

Anyway, it seems like this thread run its course. Gonna see GotG next weekend.

Only in thread titles of other threads, not in the topics themselves. But according to the same logic we can post major Game of Thrones spoilers as long as we don't post in the NO BOOK SPOILERS threads.

The Thanos CG gif where he turns around and smile looks comically bad. Which I guess is appropriate for a comic book. But he looks decent in the first still image.
