Sean Bean dying is never a spoiler.

Wish I'd been following gaf's game of thrones threads when season one went down.

I'd also love to know how sean bean feels about being typecast as The Walking Dead in every movie and show.

I originally had a specific game of thrones spoiler in there but cornballer put the fear in me lurking those show threads. I don't feel safe from being cornballed even in this circus of delirium.

I completely understand why having to constantly tiptoe around people whining about every single detail that other people post (some people even whined over Shepherd's death at the beginning of ME2 being a fake-out as a spoiler) is really frustrating.

It's not remotely hard to do though. Like I said, this sounds like complaining about being expected to hold open doors for others; it's so easy, it's hard no to look silly complaining about it.

There is NO FUCKING SPOILER in the title. It's not about being inconsiderate, it's about having to deal with people who I honestly am starting to think are just insane. The definition of a spoiler can now be -anything- at all. It's nonsensical. This isn't people being inconsiderate, this is spoiler culture trying to turn any normal discussion and debate into accusations of people ruining something for others when they're not.

I just wanted to note how fantastic it is to see someone with influence injecting some sanity into the spoilerphobic hysteria that has become part of seemingly every single discussion about anything on this forum.

I just woke up and saw the thread title got changed sometime in the last six hours.

Clicked it, and now I have no idea what's going on anymore.

WHAT'S HAPPENING.

What a terrible spoiler.

I'm glad I saw the movie today. Few bad for those who haven't yet.

Anyway, couldn't properly identify which zodiac was him:

Looking forward to the other 11, though.

what's so great about thanos?
It's not about how great Thanos is, it's about putting Z-list characters like Iron Man, Carol Danvers, Squirrel Girl, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Daredevil over him

Then Captain America will stand up for human determination in a godbattle where the human condition has zero application.

You mean in Avengers 2 when he picks up Mjolnir?

It might be a nice thing to do, but no one has an obligation to cater to your self-imposed restriction. If you are having a personal issue that keeps repeating, perhaps it is time to analyze your own behavior instead of placing the onus on a majority which does not share your inclination.

It's not a lot to ask for a thread TITLE to be considerate of others. I can understand the subject of the first post, and what not, but a thread title? Come on. It would be like saying, "The Usual Suspects: Kaizer Soze is XXX! Who saw that coming? Discuss! Oh yeah, Spoiler thread!"

The thing is, if there is something that has the potential to have spoilers that I don't want to know, I will actively avoid threads/discussions about said subject. Kind of hard to do when I open up GAF on my phone, and the title of the thread is the spoiler. It's not unreasonable to be annoyed, or to ask for more courtesy when it comes to naming threads. As I said before, I haven't been following GotG closely, so I had no idea Brolin was cast as Thanos (which is awesome, by the way), or that he had a larger role in the movie. I always thought it'd be some small nod like Avengers did, nothing substantial.

No one except you spoilerphobes could be reasonably expected to think that Thanos being in GotG is in itself a spoiler.

I don't know how else to explain it to you: just because you did not know something does not make it a spoiler. It is simply something you did not know.

We can not limit conversation to what you personally know. That is absurd. We would have no idea what is off limits.

Thanos being in GotG was never a secret. It was never intended to be a surprise.

I don't get it, man.

Thanos is in Guardians of the Galaxy. His casting was announced literally months ago. It's been confirmed time and time again he would be in the movie. Josh Brolin was on stage at SDCC just last week wearing a mock infinity gauntlet and talking about the movie. Because you did not know these things does not mean anyone should respect your ignorance. Your analogy with The Usual Suspects is way off base, because in your example the plot of the film (something the studio did want revealed) is spoiled. With this thread, the only thing spoiled is how Thanos looks. That's it. That he is in the movie was already known. This is a nerd-centric community, and people are on info as soon as it's released. We can't as a whole be expected to know and cater to your whims.

No, flipping your shit at this thread is like going to a restaurant, ordering a steak dinner and complaining there is meat on your plate. Or hitting the tab for a fountain cola and complaining it's not water. You want something completely removed from reality. You want Thanos to have been a surprise, but it never was. It was never meant to be.
