That Virtual ROB BOY is pretty great, though I have a feeling Nintendo won't be celebrating its worst idea ever.Teleroboxer was fucking AWESOME though.

EDIT:damn, beaten

Captain N is ineligible since he originated in a cartoon rather than videogame software or hardwareA better hardware rep is someone who actually weaponizes said hardware for fighting.

swear to God if the dog is in & uses the zapper...
The Zapper's never going to be utilized in Smash Bros. This is what it looks like in Japan:swear to God if the dog is in & uses the zapper...
Well then! That's amazing.

They could simply use the American design in all regions. Japanese players might not get the reference but they'll learn something like us American players sometimes have to learn about them. The Zapper's never going to be utilized in Smash Bros. This is what it looks like in Japan:

Yeah, they could just stylize it for the Japanese version, or like I said, just use the American version in all regions. Japanese players might not get the reference at first, but it could be explained in-game (and on Miiverse!).The ray gun is basically the zapper with a smash original look
You can bet the character is about as well known as Mega Man nowadays, if only not in name.Guys what if Steve was in Smash?
Man, who hunts ducks with something like that? The Zapper's never going to be utilized in Smash Bros. This is what it looks like in Japan:

It's literally called just "gun."
Because Nintendo's a Japanese company. Smash Bros. has always been "Japan first" -- Marth, Roy, Lucas, R.O.B.'s default look, and so on. It just doesn't make any sense for Sakurai to design a character around a peripheral that doesn't exist in his country. They could simply use the American design in all regions. I'm sorry for going off topic here, but I just wanted to say that Smash Brothers finally clicked for me last night at about 11:30pm. I had been playing for about four and a half hours straight, trying to understand this game(I'm playing Brawl btw), and by god, I got it. I can't put into words what exactly it was that I 'got', but I found the fun. Needless to say, my hype for Smash 4 went from nonexistent to full on Hype Train status.
I'm all in. Smash Brothers is fucking fantastic.
Awesome! Now picture the fun you're having now at a slightly faster speed, with brighter bolder colors, and in glorious HD.I'm sorry for going off topic here, but I just wanted to say that Smash Brothers finally clicked for me last night at about 11:30pm. Well what do the French fans want?I feel like Little Mac served as the rep that US retro fans would enjoy, we don't need another one

Or this.
I can picture pretty much anything in the context of Smash Bros., but that doesn't mean everything is plausible. I don't mean that as a criticism -- just that it's an odd criteria for gauging feasibility.Pic of the Day: Duck Hunt Dog joins the fray! He works together with the ducks for his smash attacks and recovery. And what's that? He wields the almighty Zapper! Note this is the version of the Zapper that was released in the United States.
I can picture this.

A purple GameCube R.O.B. :-OI really want this to be in Smash 4. At the very least a color alluding to it. The random ass colors of ROB in Brawl (except for the NES/Famicom versions) kinda sucked. I really want them to go all out and make ROB the character representing the hardware - give him color designs based on consoles, changing the logo and such accordingly on him.
Well what do the French fans want?
I'm just saying that if Sakurai has ideas for a character featuring the Light Zapper, he wouldn't let the "Japan-only" stuff hold him back. Nintendo is a global company now, and I don't think he'd be afraid to reference something from one of its biggest markets.I can picture pretty much anything in the context of Smash Bros., but that doesn't mean everything is plausible. I don't think it's "fear" so much as Sakurai not being intimately familiar with the NES Zapper and not feeling compelled to design a character around it. Sakurai's Japanese, his staff is Japanese, and he's been immersed in Japanese culture all his life -- the Smash Bros. series feels Japanese at heart, and I just don't see that changing anytime soon.I'm just saying that if Sakurai has ideas for a character featuring the Light Zapper, he wouldn't let the "Japan-only" stuff hold him back. You may be right. I still think there's a good chance Sakurai may research Nintendo outside what's immediately familiar to him, though, and take into consideration the global nature of his game.I don't think it's "fear" so much as Sakurai not being intimately familiar with the NES Zapper and not feeling compelled to design a character around it. You're not allowed to be fully hyped until you read every post from the last 10 threads.I'm sorry for going off topic here, but I just wanted to say that Smash Brothers finally clicked for me last night at about 11:30pm. I'm sure he already does that to a degree (Punch-Out!! is much more popular in America than Japan), but exclusively Western things like the NES Zapper and StarTropics just seem out of the picture to me.You may be right. I read Lightning. The lighting in this game just never ceases to amaze.
something seems fishy about this pic
POTD: You know what, fuck you Smash fans. You wanted fucking Ridley, here he is. He's a fucking fish. You got what I wanted, and it fucking broke me. I quit. I'm going to go make mobile games now you assholes.
why is Enguarde the swordfish purple and flying now
So say that Rayman is an actual playable character in Sm4sh, what would you want his stage to be? Origins, Legends, 3D games? or a mix?
