Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC listed on Amazon UK

Here's the fifth post from the MCC thread. I've seen posts like it all over:

They'd be irreparably hurting the brand by making their strongest exclusive IP no longer exclusive.

/waves

Seriously though, you're right.

edit: I wonder how many times that has been quoted in the MCC thread.

Lock if old.

Thanks to AttackOfTheFanboy a PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection has been listed on both Amazon UK and Amazon Spain.

Could be nothing, could be something.

Amazon UK

About the Amazon Spain listing.

The sad part is that if it comes for PC maybe Microsoft forces us to use Windows 8 or 8.1 just to run the game(s).

If this is true, I suspect that they'll release this on the Windows Store and not on Steam. Maybe they'll launch this with Windows 9??

Both I'd imagine. With the death of GFWL MS has seemingly realized Steam is the elephant in the room you can't ignore. Hell they released the Halo Spartan Assualt game on steam. (Wonder if that was a way to test the waters in interest for Halo on PC)

This is nothing but a mere placeholder and is confirmation of nothing. Amazon generates placeholders that appear after enough people have searched for a specific item.

All it shows that there is a demand and that people are searching for it.

If it had a price attached to it and some actual product information then there would be something were discussing.

I politely feel the MODs should lock this thread since it's very misleading.

The way you make it sound is that this is an automatic process. In that case why does the page list item weight, format and release date? It also says "by Microsoft Press".

See, I'd be the first person screaming this from the damn mountaintop if this were a 100% confirmation, but there's also a listing for Sunset Overdrive Day 1 Edition with the exact same specs (down to the CD-ROM format). I'm willing to bet these are both listing errors.

See, I hate posting right at the end of a page, because that means no one is actually going to read your post.
But seriously, though this is likely a fake listing, Microsoft's web pages for the game haven't exactly been screaming Xbox One exclusivity, either. "Coming to Xbox One" is not a boastful call of exclusivity to me, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

After look what else microsoft press was selling, Sunset overdrive also says no platform and cd rom. I wouldnt look too much into this.

Doesn't feel likely at all, that would be pretty much MS giving up on the Xbox One.

I don't like Halo, but a collection like that with Mouse&Keyboard could be what would made me give it another try.

GFWL 2 exclusive.

Riots will happen,

I could live with a new "GFWL" on PC if it wouldnt be bad like GFWL, it should be around the level of Battle net / origin or better. If this is the only option to get some of the xbox exclusives on PC then do it Microsoft.

It will come to the PC. It makes sense since MS wants to unite all OS under one. They would probably release the PC version after windows 9. They already said they could stream Halo 4 onto another device.

Why they'd release this on PC when they really want to sell XB1s is beyond me. However, good for the PC folk if it does get released on PC.

This will hurt Xboxone a lot so it will not gonna happen.

its not going to hurt the xbone, not many dedicated pc gamers will buy a console, let alone the weaker one just for some old ports.

That and there's Microsoft talking about Windows 9 working across all Microsoft products with universal "apps". There's definitely demand for this game on PC.

Hopefully MS wised up and realized they can make more money on it by NOT tying it exclusively to the Xbox one. The majority of diehard Halo fans probably already bought an Xbox One for Halo anyways, so in terms of sales I don't see it being a big exclusive.

Bad business move long term, for short term gain. All it will do will harm the Xbox brand. Just like it has done every time a Xbox exclusive showed on PC. It didn't grow the fan base of any franchise, it just dilutes the platform.

I hope this is true, only interested in Halo CE. After playing the Halo trial and the pc version for years I prefer to use a mouse and and keyboard over the Xbox controller.

lol @ thinking this will come to pc....they want people to buy an x1, why would they be giving people reasons not too

dedicated pc gamers will not pay $400 for an underpowered console and then pay a monthly fee for peer to peer online play.

but there are many who would buy this on pc, me included. by not putting it on pc they are leaving money on the table.

The way you make it sound is that this is an automatic process. In that case why does the page list item weight, format and release date? It also says "by Microsoft Press".

It has a database where it can look up company info, which may or not be accurate. It is more or less an automatic process.

The format weight and release date are generated by similar items (ala Halo MCC on X1 was probably used as a reference)

The database does not always produce accurate info because of that.

A couple things.

If they were to release the game on PC, then it would certainly be a long period after the Xbox One version was out. It really wouldn't take much away from the console after the fact.

You also ignore the fact that many console gamers "like the convenience of a console better", so that crowd won't magically migrate over to PC in the first place.

And you also don't take in to account that if this were to launch on the Windows Store or Windows 9 (again, WAY after the console release), then this could convince many PC gamers who are still on Windows 7 to upgrade to the newer OS's. It's a win win for Microsoft, I think.

If Halo 5 remains exclusive to Xbox One, Halo MCC on PC could be something used to help reinvigorate interest in the series before the sequel is released for those who haven't played the games or those who may have lost interest over the years. As a popular gaming franchise, there is no denying that Halo has seen better times. Let the sequel be the system seller.

its not happening, i hope it does but im buying x1 when this releases anyway. i want a pc release so the games are immortalised and 10 years on people can still play them on their pc whereas x1 will be long gone

It will happen. That's a fact. It just won't be this year, in order not to steal sales from Xbox One.

I would buy this. I can't stand the Hall games on 360 because they're clunky 30fps and the aim assist is absurd.

I thought they were trying to sell people Xbox Ones.
They are. In their mind, PC players excited for Halo again, have them play the remastered version, and then launch Halo 5 exclusively for XB1 in hopes that it will cause some PC gamers to buy the console and XBL

Here are my 2cents on the whole thing

The idea for the collection was thrown around awhile back but back then it was all separate releases and Ntkrnl's leaks add to that assumption. They at some point decided they were going to eventually release the games on PC but not until after the XBO launch of the game. Then the Steam leaks happen and everyone goes crazy and then the pages were deleted (though the groups are still up). While testing out the Halo 3 port references were accidentally kept in a AMD driver update.

So I think they are coming to Steam but will probably be soon before Halo 5 or halfway through its life cycle.

Yep people forget they had the Master Chief Collection listed for Xbox 360 as well.
