You should definetly watch Jaws and shawshank, and then read a clockwork orange and every philip k. dick book.
Or watch 2001 and go out and buy all the books and realise how sometimes, just sometimes, the movie is better than the book it was based on.

Anyone remember what episode of the Bombcast the whole Ryan is a narc story came from? I want to listen to old Bombcast episodes at work, and I remember that whole episode being absolutely amazing.

Top five favorite movies:

1. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
2. In Bruges
3. Dark City
4. Out Of Sight
5. Snatch

Go.

In no particular order
(apart from Robocop, that's no.1)

Robocop
Starship Troopers
Pulp Fiction
Moon
Dan in Real Life (met my current girlfriend on a plane. We started chatting while watching this. I know I know, I'm a soppy cunt)

I haven't watched and read some stuff that's considered cannon, but i'm kinda ashamed of it, to be honest. I had a period in my life after high school when i just wanted to educate myself as much as a can and watched a lot of classic stuff, Citizen Kane, all of Scorsese movies and so on.
I even watch some damn Bergman, or at least i tried to, but god dammit it's so boring.

After watching Dan play Warcraft its made me really want to get back into it again .

Is anyone else feeling the same ?

I do too, but deep in my heart i know i would just hop into my max level character and grind fucking reputation for no apparent reason instead of actually enjoying any content. I will never be so blissfully ignorant in this game as Dan is :(

I will admit to some things...

I have never seen Blade Runner
I have never seen The Shawshank Redemption
I have never seen 2001: A Space Odyssey
I have never seen any of The Godfather Trilogy
I have never seen Jaws
I have never seen Goodfellas
I have never seen Schindler's List
I have never seen A Clockwork Orange
I have never seen a Studio Ghibli film
I have never seen season 4 of Arrested Development
Whoever rates movies on imdb must be really mad at you.

I'd be more concerned if you had never seen a Kim Ki-Duk or Tarkovsky or Kaurismäki or Kurosawa or Polanski or Coen brothers or Lynch or Bergman or Woody Allen or Fritz Lang or von Trier or Bertolucci or Fassbinder or Kobayashi or Lumet or Tarantino or Jarmusch or Fellini or Truffaut or Forman or Godard or Rohmer or Greenaway or Werner Herzog or Antonioni or Beat Takeshi movie.

The Blair Witch Project terrified me as a child.
But you have to remember, it was sort of the first of its kind. I remember newspapers being confused if it was real or not.

It was so built up. So hyped. And it delivered.

But, you go back to it. And there is pretty much nothing scary about it in the slightest.

I must have been a way smarter kid I guess.

I think the last non-marvel movie I saw was the Simpsons Movie or... Salt? And I only see the marvel ones cause a friend of mine is a marvel fanatic.

I could trump Keyser Soze's list no problem.

I don't do many favorite lists but Back to the Future and Fargo are in my top 5 for sure. Back to the Future is my most watched movie. I would probably put The Bourne Identity in there as well. The first time I saw any of the trilogy, I watched all 3 in one evening. That was a good night.

Having Brad and Dan on is interesting. Maybe they are returning a favour for some GS members coming on this week's Bombcast. I'd be very happy if Mary Kish was on today's Bombcast, she is right up there with Danny as one of the top Gamespot staffers.
Mary's great. One of the few GS staffers who aren't afraid of letting their personalities shine through - she even knows her segment on The Lobby is total bullshit and jokes through it while Danny takes the piss.

Wonder if the recent cull means CBSi might try to get more camera friendly/funny presenters? Even if their views aren't great yet, they must have realised their audience responds better to Danny?

Not only do I enjoy how bitterly opposed to so much shit Jeff is, I revel in how angry it makes so many people that he doesn't like things they like.

Brad and Dan are going to be on The Lobby in about 2 and a half hours. http://www.gamespot.com/videos/rogue-legacy-the-swapper-the-lobby/2300-6420616/

Thanks.

Dude you should watch Blade Runner.

I now what film I'm going to be watching next.

I have never seen A Clockwork Orange
I have never seen a Studio Ghibli film

DAN HAS NEVER SEEN BLADE RUNNER

I'm with you on Studio Ghibli. I saw Princess Mononoke and that was it for me. Two hours of exploding animated goop.

Dan is you standard American 30 year old. And it is terrifying.

I love Dan as an addition to the show, but more in a train-wreck sort of way. The things that come out of his mouth astound me - I'm not sure if he plays it up or what, but it's crazy.

Just from the last podcast - not understanding recycling or biodegradability? Used a single shoebox for weeks to reheat frozen pizza in the microwave? Uses only disposable cutlery? As time goes on the list just piles up. It's marvelous.

He's no Ryan, but he's still a great complement to Jeff in a totally different way.

Totally. Tried watching Spirited Away and couldn't get into it at all. Didn't bother with any others. Sometimes I wonder if Japanese media is put on a pedestal just because it's Japanese.

That said, I've always been curios about the moving castle movie, simply because the castle itself looks boss on the poster.
