On the topic of the practically inevitable Smash 3DS Direct: What might they cover?
Of course, there's no guessing what stuff may be completely under wraps. But they have shown bits and pieces of other things that haven't been explained yet.
Like what appears to be a new Classic Mode, with branching paths and scalable difficulty reminiscent of the Fiend's Cauldron from Kid Icarus Uprising.
There was also that tabletop trophy battle mode they showed but didn't explain in the E3 Digital Event montage.
Of course, there are also a number of stages we haven't seen in action yet, like Tomodachi Life, Paper Mario and N's Castle.
I just wonder if they have enough content still under wraps that they could do a Smash Direct as robust as the one they did in April. So just as many new items, just as many new assist trophies and Pokémon, etc.
One thing for sure is that they'd reveal a bunch of new stages. The 3DS version launch is about a month away in Japan and there's still a lot of major series that don't have stage representation in the 3DS version yet (Metroid, Yoshi, Kirby, Star Fox, etc.).
