Again, no one said that and Viv/Hix/L1N have all collectively misread the posts.

Over the initial period of the season (August-Dec), when their stats were comparable, Ramsey was better was what I was saying.

I'm saying it.

Ramsey is better than Yaya.

Quiet management? Classy manager? Home-grown players? Do you know jack shit about Dortmund? I mean seriously, look up their players on Wikipedia.

Classy is probably the wrong word. I love Klopp though. He is a great manager with a fantastic personality. Also, compare Dortmund's management team to Bayern and tell me they are louder. Also, up until recently they had Götze as homegrown, along with Reus and Schmelzer and Grosskreutz, there was also Sahin too. They have about as many as we do, but at least the stars they've gotten were brought and made there, which is something I can admire heavily.

Edit: I was a fool twice.

Fucking nailed it. I couldn't put my finger on it.
Yeah man. Looks like a spiting image of him in his prime.

Hummels came from Bayern.

City EDS v United.
Manchester Senior's Cup

City piling on the pressure in the opening exchanges, United almost gave a penalty away.

You don't really know this.

I love it when people make weird generalized statements when they really don't know that much about a player. If Arsene Wenger spends 26m or whatever it is on a player it's because him and his scouts have probably watched that player more than even fans of the actual team have and they believe he's worth it.

Lallana was good 2 years ago, and very good last year

Calling him a one-season wonder is nonsensical whichever way you slice it. Especially since before 12/13, he wasn't even in the PL

Arguing over which footballer is better than the other is fucking stupid either way. I do find it funny how people try to undersell Yaya's contribution to City all the time though.

It's weird. Toure was easily top 2 last season.

It's crazy how Ramsey had more tackles-per-game than Fernandinho, Tiote, McCarthy, etc etc though, on top of his attacking production. I really hope he gains that true balance (still needs to improve tactically, which you'd expect for a 23 y/o), the type Vidal has down perfectly. You read him talking about his goals/assists stats and that's great, but he shouldn't become obsessed by them.

Anyway, I like what Newcastle are doing. Really think Sissoko is gonna have a great season, and Riviere could be a hit. Remy taking to this league so well is a good omen for he and Brown Ideye, who have both have/had good goalscoring rates in France.

As things go on, I really can see wenger not getting a DM. Carvalho would be an A+ signing, and absolutely needed, but I can just see wenger sticking with Wilshere, and trying him and Ramsey as a pivot. With Carvalho, we really could have a shot at the league, but alas.

Hummels came from Bayern.

Eh, I don't know how I let myself forget something like that. Oh well, I was throwing in guesses for players off the top of my head that post. Hummels doesn't seem like a Bayern player to me though, I don't know. I guess it i just that I can't imagine him not at Dortmund.

Lambda shares the same sentiment as Arnie about Willy C and he follows the Portuguese League...

To be totally honest, Lambda has been almost 100% on all his predictions of Portuguese League players after they move.

TBF you could just use Reus instead since he was technically a Dortmund youth player before he left for Rot Weiss Ahlen.

ummm......ok?

Are we just throwing random facts which haven't got to do with anything right now

There are more sheep in New Zealand than people. Like 9:1. Crazy.

Age has a huge factor to why people would underrate Lallana. Why hasn't he left Southampton earlier? Some would say if he was that great, he would have been plucked up while Soton were in the lower leagues, like Bale, Walcott and Chamberlain before him. I mean he totally do a Drogba and be a later bloomer, who knows. Ramsey on the other hand has shown the goods in a top team and in the CL. It's why more people think Ramsey has a chance of replicating last season's performances. Lallana could do the same, but I'm more skeptical.

All Lambda said was that Carvalho was a good player, but not worth as much as they wanted and he hadn't proved himself in Europe yet.

So I have some people asking me to join their team for the GAF TLOU tourney tomorrow night (I think?), does anyone else want to join up with me?

Newcastle are my Dark Horses for the season

Yaya's goal tally last season was an outlier. hard to say Ramsey had a better season when he missed half the season because that hurts your value a lot but Ramsey, now, is better than Yaya.

*whistle*

I wanted to, but I distinctly remembered him going back to Dortmund so I felt a little off about it. In all my effort to not get criticized for being wrong I made a reallllly dumb mistake, especially from someone who should have known better having followed Bayern forever. Oh well.

With all those variables how does that make Arsenal favorites to win the league with the signing? Which is what Arnie was refuting, while taking a dig.

If I was in charge of making a team to play against MartianXI FC tomorrow, with planet Earth at stake, I'd have Ramsey in the team over Toure.

There.

Ramsey will be better than Yaya this season. Just needs a more competent DM next to him so he can unleash his full attacking potential.

I said I'd fancy them. Just like I'd fancy a nice Chicken Biryani after work today. Doesn't mean it's my favourite.

Gotcha.

It's kind of a dumb argument because its always unknown for the most part when a player comes from a diff league.

I am almost tempted to support Dortmund a little more until Bayern can get their shit together. I mean, I have loved my team my whole life, and we have had so much success. Seriously though, we are the worst team in the Bundesliga when it comes to morals, and it disgusts me. We buy off all the local stars so we can be the best, instead of working on our academy.

It is literally the same reason I hate most of the rich clubs: Real, Barca, Man city, etc. They buy all of their talent. Ffp can't really fight against it in the way these teams do it, but this shit needs to stop. How is there supposed to be solid competition? How are the lower teams supposed to develop and eventually become good? Should be developing your academies and creating your teams to be the best, sell a few along the way.

That also said, Bayern has a lot of assholes in management, and I can't stand Guardiola. He is such an ass, and he isn't making us better. His strategy was a notable step down from our prime season. We have a lot of really great players, but a lot of them are being used poorly and some of his choices are so stupid. Martinez is not a fucking CB and Rafinha is not better than Lahm in that spot. I could complain about him forever, but I don't know how I can seriously enjoy my team when a lot about it infuriates me right now.

I mean, Dortmund has a classy manager, good quiet management (overall), home-grown players, persistence from losing their stars all the damn time, and good market strategy. They are a solid team, and the only reason we are rivals is because we are both good. Like, Dortmund wasn't even worth noting much before the 1990's, they are hardly our biggest historical rival. I don't know. Is it traitorous to feel this way?

You're welcome here.

Don't worry, no one sell Klopp for a coach that's worse (poor Henyckes).

Anyone else getting Diablo 3 on PS4?

I will.

Cissokho is strange

When he wasn't playing every game, he was reasonably solid

Don't expect anything from him going forward though, his crossing and ball control is dismal. In fact, his ball control is so bad that it prevents him from being able to use any of his pace, since he can't sprint and control the ball at the same time. And since his first touch is so bad, if you're counterattacking and the ball goes to him in space, it will go back to midfield as his first touch is used to try and stop the ball, rather than to push it into space to carry on the counter

Bayern are the club in the top 10 with the most home grown players if I'm not mistaken. But I agree about Pep and the management in general, specially this last round with Rummenigge talking shit about Reus' release clause was terrible. Pep has always been a massive cunt so there are no surprises there.

I don't think we should worry that much about the team under Pep, tho, even thought he isn't half as good as Heynckes at least he is good at promoting youngsters (specially midfielders) so in the long run it will do us good. Kind of like LvG, we were much better after he had left but he gave us so much.

Dortmund are a great team, basically thanks to Klopp and that's it. Their homegrown players are Großkreutz and like 2 other guys nobody gives a shit about. The difference is they buy unknown or not so known players for cheap and then Klopp improves them, but if you're looking for a club with serious focus on homegrown talent and a great academy then Schalke is the only right answer (somehow).
