Sakurai wanted to add Wolf since Smash 64. In don't think that in his eyes, Wolf is lower priority than other characters. I think it's more likely that Falco would get the axe than Wolf, if one of the Star Fox characters would have to be cut.

So why was it Falco that got added to Melee instead of Wolf?

Wolf had been considered for Melee as well, as Fox's (actual) clone, but Falco was ultimately chosen because he was visually more distinct from Fox than Wolf - Sakurai felt that people would think Wolf was just a grey Fox. And Mewtwo made it into Melee. He almost made the cut in Brawl, but was cut very far into development (as the removal of his data was nowhere near as thorough as any other character's), likely to make room for Sonic who was added late into the game's development. Sakurai also mentioned that it was difficult to work with GameFreak cause they are very specific on how their Pokemon are represented, which also might've been a reason why Mewtwo wasn't finished so late into development. Probably a combination of both.

I sincerely doubt Wolf is in any danger.

Yes. Someone on Sakurai's staff at the time also really liked Dr. Mario's music, which is an additional reason, and why they included that secret theme on one of the stages.

Yeah, I think this one in particular lends more credence to the idea that Lucas has a good shot at coming back. As a recent convert to Neiteio's Church of the Boots, I'm all in favor of having the bae in Smash, but Sakurai himself said that moveset-wise she's a Marth clone.

I have heard tales that people dropped it several times and it didn't break. Are you pretty sure that it's not working? If it is, then try Radioshack since they had 3DS on clearance. We have no idea if we are going to get special edition 3DS for Smash.

I mean, yeah, okay, if there's a super huge lack of time and Sakurai thinks that Wolf is more expendable than any other character on the roster, sure, he might cut Wolf. But how likely do you think that is? Particularly given the fact we got Lucina, who might not be that much easier to implement than Wolf, since Wolf already has the framework from Brawl to fall back on, which is what a lot of characters' movesets seem to be based on.

well at the moment the top screen wont turn on and is scratched as hell,the bottom screen is flickering. :\

That's okay, I'm often drawn to low tiers anyway. I main Samus in 64 and Brawl, and one of my most played characters in Melee is G&W.

Yeah ever since NGamer went down I've stopped buying magazines completely.
On topic (sort of) I remember the issue where they scored Brawl 93% and No More Heroes 94% and the next month the letter page was a chorus of complaints.

In my "list" there wouldn't be an iffy tier. All the characters from that would move up to likely, and Ness would easily go up to guaranteed. I don't see why you're forcing the restriction on "keep the tiers the same size", either.

I'd move Ganon down to likely too, and then I'd say you have it correct. (Maybe Snake in iffy.)
