Careful, Ash, eight years is wonderful and all, but there's always the chance she's a closet Genesis fan who's been biding her time, and she'll lace your Smash cookies with some Mexican ingredient that'll have you shitting for weeksHahaha, that's awesome. My fianceé is something of an in-betweener. She was really active during the Super NES, N64, and Dreamcast days... her favorite game of all time is EarthBound (something she told me the night we met!... you can imagine how I felt about that) and she also loves stuff like Chrono Trigger, Ocarina of Time, Crazy Taxi, and Sonic Adventure.
She doesn't really keep up with modern gaming as much beyond the Ace Attorney and Professor Layton series and the occasional Zelda game (she's playing through The Wind Waker HD right now), but she's 100% onboard with why I'm so excited and is going to be helping me bake Smash logo cookies for my Smash Wii U launch party whenever the release date is announced. So, like I said, I'm pretty lucky.

My cousin will text me about Pokemon updates all the time, usually chiming in a "yay we're adults!"
He does not have the same hype levels I have for Smash though, which is pretty much down to a single friend of mine and my brothers who are going to be playing it on my Wii U since they don't own one. It's why I'm on SmashGAF, I have no one to share my excitement with besides you all!

Haha, well... I had both a SNES and Genesis growing up (though I was definitely more of a SNES kid) and knows how hyped I was about Sonic in Brawl and (more recently) in Smash 4... so I think I'm safe there.
Besides, I was the editor on UDON's History of Sonic the Hedgehog book and listened as I read a bunch of shit from it back to her to make sure it sounded okay out loud, so I think she's pretty much 100% fine with Sonic at this point. If she wasn't, she'd have lost her mind a couple of years ago.
Her lack of appreciation for Sonic in Smash shows she's not the one, Beef. But that's OK, because your real soulmate is here today.

Sadly, the verses just don't match up as well with Together We Ride as they do with Under the Sea.
Surprisingly, the fire emblem theme part of it works the best.
