The attention to detail on this is staggering.

Looks great. Sony needs to do something about the logjam in Q1 next year. They need to space out their exclusives better so that they get the best chance to shine. Other than that, I'm digging the visuals, settings and voice acting.

I find it amusing that people's only complaint about the game is about some nebulous "gameplay" concept. They've already said its a cover based TPS. Till release, none of us is ever going to be in a position to judge how well it does that. I'll trust the people that have played it and said it controls and plays well. Its also story driven and cinematic. All those things helped TLOU sell 10 million copies. If you're one of those weirdos that thinks every game needs to be a arcadey storyless competitive multiplayer copy paste job I don't even know why you waste time in these threads. You guys need to start working on a time machine to take you back to the 90s.

This trailer made this game interesting for me again. Just wish we didn't have to wait till February, might be busy with Bloodborne then.

I thought they were going to show one of the in-game airstrikes for a moment since it was kind of teased, but it seems that will stay under wraps a bit longer. Was really hoping they would show that gameplay.

This trailer was a vast improvement over the E3 version, keeping fingers crossed for this one, still on my Day 1 list for now.

Bloodborne is March I think. It'll be The Order 1886 in February followed by Bloodborne and The Witcher 3 (not exclusive) in March. Still, what a cracking start to the year.

I think the gameplay finally looks amazing in this new trailer. The graphical detail, the animations, and the gunplay itself all look really, really solid.

Just watched this on my TV. Hands down the best looking game ever on consoles.

I'm going to day one this so hard.

Meh beyond the graphics. I loved RAD's output on the PSP, but this just isn't clicking with me. If it reviews well I'll have to give it another look.

The voice actor for Tesla is not very good... Considering story is the most important factor for the devs I haven't actually seen/heard anything about the story that sounds particularly interesting or fresh. They seem a lot more focused on lore than on character, at least from the little we've seen and heard.

The setting and atmosphere looks really good, and I think the gameplay will be at least reasonably solid. I'm definitely more excited by Bloodborne though as the Q1 PS4 exclusive, though.

While I certainly appreciated seeing more gameplay, that trailer didn't move the needle on the "desire meter" for me one bit. I

The entire "filmic" thing just isn't working for me with this game. It really does look like "Can't See Shit: The Game". In its attempts to be atmospheric, The Order has only succeeded in making me think I'm looking through haze. Yes, I know VIctorian London was foggy/hazy, but I'm pretty damned sure it wasn't that way indoors as well!

I've come to the conclusion that neither Sony's nor MS's major third person action titles (referring to Quantum Break here) are what I'm looking for.

This is the best trailer yet and actually makes it look pretty appealing.

Still kind of fed up with the lack of substantial gameplay innovation, but it looks fun. I admit it.

Think of it this way: when was The Last of Us' story at it's best? When did it really tug on your heart strings and make you ponder the human condition? Was it when you shot down grunt #56 with a shotgun? Was it when you crafted your shiny new scope? Probably not. I feel very confident in saying that we all agree that the answer is "during the cutscenes", i.e when it was a movie. The story in this video game was at it's best when it was no longer a video game.

I understand that you disagree, and I would love to be proven wrong(I don't mean that sarcastically). How exactly does The Last of Us prove me wrong? In what way did that story benefit from being a game?

I personally feel that the actions a player take leading up to a cut scene can influence how a cinematic feels. Much in the same way that 10+ hours of gameplay intertwined with cinematics can often tell a story in a different way than a 2 hour movie with zero watcher involvement.

Definitely packed with big games. There's also batman arkham knights isn't there? Crazy.

Super pumped for this game now - the trailer was fantastic.

My only real concern at this stage is that it's going to be one of those short but sweet experiences. I'm worried that campaign length will be more Vanquish than Last of Us.

I'm overhyped after seeing this trailer.

Maybe won't be as goog as TLoU, but I'm sure this game is going to amaze me and looks pretty fun to play

Game looks very pretty. Advanced apologies, as I haven't been following it that closely, but have they said whether or not there's any destruction to the environment?

Looks nice but I still have the same concerns as before, the gameplay looks like a standard TPS with chest high cover. Story looks interesting though which is clearly their main concern.

I do wish it was a little less shootbang though. Still, I will probably get it if the reviews aren't horrible. I do think the story would be better suited to a TV show though a long fight against some werewolf looking dudes with scientific advancements as the driver of the fight. A True Blood style show would work better than a game. Maybe SPTV will make one.

Out of curiosity - did you enjoy the Last of Us?

Maybe it was my lack of awareness when it came to TLoU - but I only ever saw footage of the TPS elements (plus some awesome music and signs of a strong story) and it sold me. This game is pretty much doing the same thing, but swap music for amazing visuals.

Day 1.
Visually its stunning, animations are top notch.
Gameplay is decent.

Please tell me the Lycans are not the only supernatural creatures in this game? :(

I'm not saying that game can't tell a good story; obviously they can. The Last of Us told a great story. So did Max Payne, and Red Dead Redemption, and GTA V, and so many other games. What I'm saying is that if you just want to tell a story there are many better mediums, like books and TV series. In those formats you never need to allocate any time so something that doesn't further the story. The Last of Us had a great story, and it would have been told significantly better had it been a TV series. Video games almost always limit you to one, or very few points of view and you constantly need to make room for gameplay/player interaction, regardless of whether or not the story asks for it.

TLOU spoilers

the sewers part was one of my favourite story sections, as was the dynamic between Joel and Ellie during the winter chapter and finally at the end when trying to rescue Ellie.

The last of us did an incredible job making both the gameplay and cutscenes emotionally engaging, and they also reinforce each other too.

This is what I want to know. This was what got me interested initially. And god damn at that shotgun blast. Ripped that guy's arm right off...

Back on board the hype train. This is the kind of trailer that they needed to show. Hopefully they market it well before launch and show us some more extended gameplay segments. Day one.

The attention to detail on this is staggering.

That part really made me appreciate the forward renderer, the staggering amount of different and accurate material definition is fantastic.

My pleasure, sir.

Hope this will do:

Only problem here is that my trained eyes notice the singular pointy specular highlight from a point light even though the scene has multiple lights hanging from that lamp.

A lot. That's the problem really, it doesn't break any new ground other than an interesting story and nice graphics. I think the story would be better suited to a high production value TV show.
