I just wanted to say thanks to the many recommendations of Nippon Yasan for Wii U Pro controllers. I'd been hankering after one for a while and they were by far the best place.

I can't believe how fast they delivered. Ordering mid-day on Aug 6th, email to say it was shipping on Aug 7th. In my hands Aug 11th. Outstanding!
Yep, these guys are awesome, as I posted in the Gamecube thread:
Guys, guess what? I have to plug my good ol' friends over at Nippon Yassan. I've been posting requests for help from a Gaffer in Japan to help me obtain a Gameboy Player from Amazon Japan. Someone did point me to a website service in Japan that lets me order with my normal Amazon account, ship to them and then they ship to me...but it got all complicated cause my UK login details wouldn't work on Amazon JP. Anyway, I wrote to Nippon Yassan and told them of my woes, asked if they could help me out with this predicament. They wrote back to me saying that they'd look into it, but it could take me a while. Within a few hours, they wrote to me again saying that they had added the product to the site:

What a hit. These guys are awesome. I ordered one straight away.

GAME have a voucher code GAMESCOM3. It gives £3 off pre-orders for selected games at GAME. I imagine the selected games are at Gamescom...

In reality it makes some things marginally cheaper than thegamecollection (Hyrule Warriors is £28.99 with the code for instance).

I thought Captain Toad was only going to be $50 = £30?
$50 tier tends to be €50 which is £40 RRP so pre-orders are likely to hit £30 at rock bottom.

However if NOE are out of their mind they make it a €60 game (see Wind Waker HD) which has an RRP of £50 and as such £40 would be around the rock bottom.

I would be interested to know how GAME handle pre-order price guarantees when you have used a £3 off code...

Nah, it's $60 on Amazon.com
There was a store flyer with $50 going around. I don't know if that ever got refuted.

Captain Toad for £40 seems like a terrible idea since it doesn't even have Christmas to pull in a few sales.

I've no doubt it'll be worth it for me, but Nintendo are going to have a really hard time convincing other people of that. Toad isn't a draw in himself, really the only appeal is to people who played SM3DW and loved his levels, surely it needs to be priced nearer to "impulse" territory to stand much of a chance of performing?

Of course, Nintendo is Nintendo.

For some Nintendo fans, It depends what the game actually entails. Is it a fully fledged game with multiple worlds and levels, or is it just a large DLC sized pack of levels akin to New Luigi U. But yes, I agree that it should be priced around the £30 range. It also depends how much they are willing to push this on the eShop as well for digital sales, like Luigi U with the in game notifications of new DLC in NSMBU.

Was gonna pick up Wolf Among Us the other day after receiving a free £10 PSN credit from Now TV. Pleased I waited!

Just picked up three Xbox One games (and I don't even own an Xbox One).

Forza 5 Limited Edition (€24.99/£19.99) | €87.33 on Amazon UK.

Ryse: Son of Rome (€24.99/£19.99) | €46.26 on Amazon UK

Dead Rising 3 (€24.99/£19.99) | €53.86 on Amazon UK

Free Delivery Included.

Not bad, €74.97 all in, which is almost what one of those games go for here in Ireland.

Those will plummet more in the coming weeks - there are cheaper Complete editions coming of each of those three, so I suspect you'll get the non-expansion versions for half this then. If you can stand to wait!

Man, I wish I had €75 to just throw away like that. I bet by the time you get an Xbox One those games are €10 each :lol

Gosh darn it, this is making me want to break my digital only streak....
Only for dead rising though!

Anyone have ever ordered stuff from cdjapan? I wonder if I can request them to mark down the stuff to avoid VAT charge :\
Sorry to butt in but this reminds me of another point.

In the case of the books these have 0% VAT in the UK (from what I can gather import VAT only applied to goods that actually have VAT in the UK*). As a result what should happen if a book gets hit by customs and Royal Mail BS handling fee is applied. Do you have to fill in a C285 form for a rebate from HMRC. In that case what about the Royal Mail BS handling fee, all I can think is keep sending in any correspondence relating to the C285 form until they decide to refund their BS handling fee?

*-Maybe I'm just getting things wrong at this hurdle.

At work so I can't access all websites, but anyone know where the cheapest to get:
Sonic Boom 3DS EU
Child of Light Vita EU

I don't live in the UK btw, so if the retailer has a free shipping option, I don't mind waiting a few days for it =)

How much hassle is it to have a US PSN account alongside your EU one? Do you have to switch accounts to play the games you download?

Nah having a US account is easy peasy. Make a US account, have a random US address, any game you get from US PSN can be played on any account on your PS4.
Get US PSN cash codes off Amazon.com using a random US billing address too.

Or signup for Borderlinx (free) which will give you a valid / legitimate US address

You can use that valid address to sign up to US PSN , and add it to your normal Amazon account - you can then buy PSN cash codes from Amazon to add to your account and purchase via the PSN store or you can use PSN codes when Amazon sell them.

To use this on your PS4 you simply sign in with that account go to settings and set this console as your 'home' console , then you can play those titles on that console with any other account.

The US digital side of things tends to work best on new releases (typically $60 = £37 when the full games are often £50 or above) or when they have a sale on.

I think its just as easy to use a US PS3 account (but I dont have specific details) - it is more awkward to use a US Vita account as you can only have 1 account per 'card' which means you'd need to keep a seperate card for your US titles / would not get trophies on your account and each time you swap cards out the Vita takes a minute or two to rebuild its database)

Thank you both. I appreciate it. I think it'd be cool to go digital only with PS4 as I am not a big fan of trading back in games that I have bought (very much a PC mentality). I hope the US store gets a few sales on PS4 games eventually. Sony have been pretty good with sales for Vita and PS3 nowadays, in terms of pricing anyway.

Hmm. Will that headset work on PC as well? Been wanting to get one for my son so he leaves my Golds alone :)

Edit: ooh, clubcard boost works, so it is only £20 in clubcard points..

I'd already preordered Destiny with Tesco back when it was announced. It had a £55 price at that point. I purchased it with a £25 card and then used a £15 off £75 spend voucher getting it down to £40 anyway. Good thing is that I also got an extra 500 points and Tesco have confirmed that I will get a £10 refund as well to my card as it's now £45 and you pay for the preorders when you order.

Similar situation with D3 as well, but that came with 1000 extra points.

Anyone knows if the US Version of Destiny will have German Dub/Subtitles? I would rather save about 25€ by buying at the US SEN Store. Or any good deals for the german version? I don't mind english, but my dad is very very excited for this game (he played the beta more than me lol)

Legendary Version of Ryse will be €50 and Apocalypse Version of Dead Rising 3 will be €60. So far those have only been announced for Tier 2 countries as far as I can tell.

Keep in mind a few things:
1- Always use Store.SonyEntertainmentNetwork.com
to access the store, it's much better IMO than using the console.
2- You can't access BOTH the US and EU webstores on the same web browser even in different tabs. You must use 2 separate browsers to access the stores...which is what I do! Heck I use firefox for my JP PSN account XD

Pokemon X is £21.40 at Tesco and Amazon UK yet again.

In other news Amazon UK give a whole up to £4 for trading it in (which seems ludicrous considering it is one of the most popular 3DS games).

Edit: gone from both. Flubit was so crappy they didn't even process the Amazon price yet. Good job I didn't spend points to make the offer come in sooner as I would get a lovely offer of ~£28...

May as well bring it up here since it's discussed, but has anyone else had any trouble with some DLC in their region switching adventures? I haven't bought much, but AC4 seems to be an offender. The multiplayer DLC works as I have Blackbeard, but Freedom Cry never worked on my UK account, but I can get to it on my US one. Wondering if this is a bug or if anyone has had similar problems.

You can also sign out / sign back in with the other account - I do tend to use 2 browsers (one defaults and logs in to my UK account / one to my US account) but if you just want to check it can be sometimes easier to sign out / sign back in.

The DLC is region locked (so if you have the US version of the game you need to have the US version of the DLC) - it also seems to get very confused if you *try* to download the wrong region DLC

As an example I have the US version of Battlefield 4 , and while in my UK account had clicked to download some gun pack thing - it downloaded it and stuck at the 'waiting to install' part and that seemed to block some US stuff from downloading and installing correctly.

It would be worth checking your notifications for stuff that may be 'stuck' and removing it

Nah, it is the US version of both the game and DLC, the UK store wants me to pay money and I got the US season pass. Been a while since I tried it, just popped into my head reading about all this so I might just try a re-install.

Worth a try - and as I said for me it was accidentally clicking a free download in the wrong account that messed things up.

I've seen quite a few people ask about cheapest option for TLOU PS4 and gamestop have it back in stock now at £28.97

Wait, so you have redeemed the US season pass, downloaded and installed it (via a US account) and your main account is UK and it doesn't work on that one? Does it work, when you are logged into your US account? (It seems to be that way, I just want to verify)

DLC is region specific most of the time on PS3. But you can get around that by having another account from that specific region. And as soon as it's installed, it normally also works on all other accounts.

So the principal of it is okay but there may well be something odd with AC4 or it may just have been a one off

Yes, maybe a bug or maybe Ubisoft are just asshats and locked it to the specific account, that redeemed it. I think I had similar problems with one game some years ago. I logged in and out a few times and after a while it worked.

Thats how I read it - I've not bought the season pass for AC4 but have bought the season pass for COD:Ghosts like this and it works fine on my UK account. So the principal of it is okay but there may well be something odd with AC4 or it may just have been a one off

Yeah, works on my US account. It might be a weird bug more than anything, because the Captain Blackbeard DLC works on my UK account and that's all US based again. MIght be this specific implementation of the mission.

PINBALL ARCADE Season 1 PS4 is only €13,99 on PSN, what a goddamn steal!
Best version of the game by far (yes, PC/Steam included)
