I think it's a natural by product of a country at perpetual war abroad. It's answer to everything, even domestic, is more warfare.

Dogs, riot shields and racial comments were brought to the peaceful vigil BEFORE riots broke out.

I'm talking about now. I know what happened before the riots which is why I knew there was going to be a big police presence now. I also stated how this presence is probably the biggest factor in the unrest.

If Obama coming out to speak on how police brutality against non-threatening (as in, no possession of weapons and no intent to attack) black Americans and instances like George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martian is somehow a detriment to his party, that says a lot more about the supporters of that party than it does about him.

Progressive liberals at large already put the aforementioned issues on the back-burner, it's time they woke up and realized they can afford to give equal support and caring for all social inequalities in this country.

Dems are fighting against possibly losing both Houses after this election cycle. How the President is viewed this November (and it ain't exactly rosy at the moment) plays a lot in to that.

There are nuances you're skating over but it's not like I disagree with your fundamental point. All this to say I'm doubtful Obama will take authoritative interest in this situation unless something cataclysmic happens. It's national news but it's a local "situation" at current. The problems surrounding this issue and why it occurs in the first place are far beyond something Obama can correct in five terms, never mind today or the remainder of his two years.
