Super Smash Bros. for 3DS & Wii U Thread 12: Gwah, hah. Welcome to the Bowser's game.

Best anime ever.

If Snake's not in, it'd be something to do with Konami, Hayter, etc.

I was wondering who would voice Snake if he comes back as well. We don't know if Sutherland is Hayter's permanent replacement for all things Snake, or if he's just going to be voicing for Big Boss with Hayter/someone new voicing Solid Snake.

I just had a friend seriously try to tell me that Meta Knight shouldn't have returned because Greninja has essentially replaced his play style and made him irrelevant.

I... don't even know where to begin. Like, they're literally not even a little bit similar.

I'll never understand what people look at to come to these conclusions. Being a part of the Smash fan base, it's also the hardest thing in the world to tune out when you see it fairly often and frequently from people who's gaming opinions you respect elsewhere.

Clearly you both meant Blues. :colbert:

This was pretty masterfully played.

I would like Mewtwo, but Jigglypuff should come first. If Sheik can stand on her own due to absolutely nothing but Smash inertia then Jigglypuff stays. Jigglypuff also helps balance the playable Pokemon visually--we already have three "tough and cool" Pokemon, Jigglypuff sides with Pikachu as a cute mascot-y Pokemon to balance it out.

Ideally I'd pick both, but Jigglypuff comes first.

Snake Eater 3D isn't very compelling as an argument for Snake's Nitendo relevancy but he should return. His whole charm was he was an outsider.

This man gets it. Trying to justify Snake's relevance as a Nintendo character is missing the point of what sets him apart.

It's not so much that he's more relevant because of a recent release, but that he's "about as relevant" as he was during Brawl, with his last Nintendo system release being a remake and a next-gen sequel looming on the horizon. Nothing about him as a third party has really changed.

Snake actually "deserves" to be in Smash more now than he did in Brawl, since in Brawl the most recent Nintendo MGS title was from the prior generation (GCN), while in SSB4, Snake would rep the current-gen MGS3D (3DS).

If Snake's not in, it'd be something to do with Konami, Hayter, etc.

In that case they could always reuse his voice clips. Marth and Falcon have never been redubbed since Melee.

I can't imagine Sakurai passing on one of the biggest 2 newcomers from Brawl. It has to be something big like not being able to secure the rights. He doesn't care about console wars since he is a third party developer. Didn't care in Brawl, wouldn' care now.

He had 2 NES games, 1 Gameboy game, 1 Gamecube game, and 1 3DS game.

I think his presence on the NES is actually more relevant than repping some PSP games or even repping MGS4.

port MG Legacy to Wii U Konami. doooo iiiittt

A game that Kojima disowned, some non-canon games, a remake, and a port

He has some history but let's be real, Nintendo always got the scraps besides maybe Twin Snakes.

I thought we can't use Miis in With Anyone? I was a bit curious to see how Palutena works, I know people are not happy with her default moveset.

I also had this conversation today with my gal pal:

Her: Is Rockman's brother in this game?
Me: You mean Proto Man?
Her: No, Red Rockman.

She knows to call Megaman by his Japanese name but doesn't know Protoman by name? I call shenanigans!

You think Sakurai will incorporate the Mega Man Boss Rush room in somehow?

If there's Bosses in Smash Run, like what has been rumored, I'd love if the Boss Battle mode this time around has you choose from eight in a Mega Man-style warp room.

Ghost Babel is apparently highly rated too. For a game like Smash, it's nice that NES-era games take priority.

Maybe Snake could get a Metal Gear 1 / Snake Pliskin-style costume.

I still can't believe we haven't seen a DK stage yet.

Or a Kirby stage. Or a Yoshi stage. These all kinda surprise me, because there's always at least one of them as a starter.

I kind of wonder if we'll see a slow down on info on Wii U stages, so that way there's stuff to talk about in between the 3DS and Wii U version releases.

I figured this might spark some discussion (yes I know IMDB, Salt of grain, yadda yadda):

It's oddly the only credit listed for the 3DS version. I think FE is due for another AT. Lyn's been the only one confirmed, right?

I know it's KT and not Nintendo, but seems Hyrule Warriors is gonna get regular patches and updates...

Really would like to see that happen with Smash 4.
