Anon's lack of central leadership means they have no credibility IMO. Anybody can post anything. So why listen to anybody who claims to be Anon, when they have proven time and time again to be incompetent? I'd rather see someone with a face and a name who is willing to stake their reputation on their info. That's the risk real journalists take. These fake script kids? It's for the lulz for them.

Thats how anon has always been. Theres victories in some cases, and failures in others. But its a welcome addition to an entirely broken justice system. The same could be said of mainstream media, when they have proven time and time again to be incompetent. Senators, when they have proven time and time again to be incompetent. All without any reprimands for being incompetent.

I understand your point, but not the focus on anon specifically. I mean, they are adding to the pile, but what they are adding is hardly substantial or worth vilifying.

Guess what it will take to change the way the justice system works, Rand Paul.

Big government.

He's all for Big Government... just not when it comes to taxing/regulating wealth. I do think he wants to scale back US military presence in the world, though?

I think it is. But then again, I graduated from J-School and we've had the dangers of irresponsible journalism pounded into our heads. It's like a career furniture mover watching a video of someone picking something up incorrectly and complaining, while having someone else go 'hey, it got moved and nobody got hurt.'

Police truly fucked up when they went after the press. That was their nail in the coffin IMO.

So many incidents over the last few days.

Don't officers have to identify they number when asked? Here in Canada, it's even written directly on the agent and they have to answer when asked:

At least it helps you can file a complaint for an individual, because these guys act exactly like anonymous assholes on a power trip would act.

I've not read a lot of pages since early this morning, so forgive me if old, but it looks like that Anonymous twitter account was suspended.

Only the one that released the information on that dude.

Anonymous has a lot of different voices within the group and as such have a lot of different social media mouthpieces for those voices. That was just one of them.

No, it hasn't.

Once again, for those having difficulty with reading comprehension, @YourAnonNews is not @TheAnonMessage, we did not dox anyone, kthnx.

Yeah, I know. That's why I said that account. :p

Does the cop in blue at 12:04 say "She needs to go" referring to the Al Jazeera lady who spoke early and just asked about the tactical officers in charge on the ground who assaulted her agency when they were behind police barricades and there was no protestors in sight. Or does the cop in blue say "We need to go"?

The officer in blue is looking over in the ladies direction and then he looks at the chief and then his eyes go back towards the lady as if he's saying..."her."

This entire force needs to be shut down. Hearing the details of the attack on Al Jazeera team is fucking scandalous. These thugs need to be put in prison. This is some treasonous shit.

To me...his body actions, especially his eyes say it's the former. But he doesn't says needs but instead says need. "She need to go" is what I hear.

Anyone?

My apologies for coming into this late. Is there a summary of the events that transpired since the murder of defined in the OP? Some riots and looting?

They were twitter reports, so tank them with a large grain of salt: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=125322920&postcount=4735

Yep, which is why I was wondering if recordings had popped up. They were allegedly reacting the same with with anybody who called to inquire on someone who was locked up, so I'm hoping--if this is true-- that somebody would have thought to record one of the calls.

I can't check at the moment, but there was at least one youtube video with someone calling. I didn't listen to it, but I'll try to track it down when I get the chance.

The saddest part is that I can't fully disagree. People should be able to resist wrongful arrest, but having Suing the cop wouldn't make up for a wrongful killing, unless you're TheChocolateWar

Or less military gear to the police like Rand Paul is saying?

Or lets make them actual military if they like dressing up so much, and then we can tell them that they can't quit their jobs and can face courts martial for being fuck ups.

I think PDs need to stop recruiting from the military.

I didn't realize there was this much militarization of the police until I watched this one video in the Gaza thread about a former IDF soldier talking about police forces training in Israel with military class combat and equipment. I was speechless!

Edit:
My understanding of the situation:

Man was shot dead by police under sucpious circumstance in front of a crowd of witnesses.
Word spread, people started gathering in the area he was shot.
A peaceful protest formed, lots of folks gathering.
Cops roll up on scene brandishing automatic weapons and threatening protestors.
Violence breaks out, situation escalates, rioting and looting happens.
Police continue to be overly agressive to protestors, using rubber bullets and tear gas even where it's not warranted.
Media starts being harassed, including a brief 'no fly zone'
Media is arrested, including WaPo reporters and a popular citizen journalist.
Police gas and steal from Al Jazerra reporters.

Thank you! And WOW! I'm surprised there hasn't been outright revolt against the police!

Elected officials were also arrested: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...h-alderman-arrest-ferguson-missouri/14042391/ He's out now but 2 of his companions are still behind bars.

Does anyone know how fox new is spinning this? I would turn the channel to it but I feel like keeping my brain cells.

Countering with their ragtag bunch of indentured servants moneyhatted black male roundtables discussing how thuggish Brown must have been to have gotten shot, "he was fighting for the cop's gun," running strawmen news stories over heroic cops doing good things because they're not all bad, interviewing the chief of police, saying protestors fighting back was setting us back decades from what MLK would have wanted, etc.

He said "Chief... Chief you need to go."

Or less military gear to the police like Rand Paul is saying?

He squarely blames "big government" for the militarization of the police force in America and vaguely mentions racial biases present that make the issue disproportionately affect blacks.

To make any of his words meaningful, these things need to change. And big government, not simply disarming police forces, is the only current tool for that job.

All of these things beg the question of whether or not these officers are aware of the way information spreads these days. It seems that their main priority was to withhold info that paints them in a bad light but in doing so they only made their image much much worse,

Streisand Effect in full effect

I would obviously prefer none of this to have happened, but if it's going down, at least let it blow up and gain as much attention as possible.

Thanks. That was a visual definition of "flop sweat."

This is outrageous

Al Jazeera: "We found ourselves a direct target, literally shot with rubber bullets and teargas canisters that hit our vehicle. Why would that happen and who made the decision to do that?"

Chief: Raises eyebrows and feigns concern "I don't know who made that decision, I will look into that"

Al Jazeera: "So why is the media a target?"

Chief: Exasperated look while shaking head like you might at a child "The media is not a target"

Oh jeeeeeesus
