I think analyzing details like this so early is a bad idea.
Brown was shot because he matched the description of a black guy who might or might not have taken some swisher sweets.
The black guy in the QT video would be presumed innocent until proven guilty. We don't even know if an actual robbery took place. But Brown was killed because he matched the description of a guy who might or might not have taken a 3 dollar pack of cigars.

Thats what it looks like to me too. The pics are pretty grainy and sun drenched. Its really hard to get any hard details, other than the hat.

I was referring to the monetary value of the stolen goods. In many cases this matters. Clearly he is a hardend criminal deserving the execution he received.
Are you referencing the photos above as the "QT Video"? I ask because all QT employees wear red shirts and khaki pants/shorts. So if that is the store clerk in the video, that was probably not at a QT.

The surveillance tape likely wouldn't have even been a silver bullet or anything. He matched a description, they would've questioned him, investigated him, done normal police procedure stuff. That can't happen anymore so all the tape does is confirm the idea that they approached him because he matched a description. And because he matched a description, everything unfolded that resulted in his death. So maybe he was the guy or maybe he just matched the description. The events still unfolded, they were still unjustified, and the causes behind the escalation have always existed.

Picture on the bottom left seems to show the pants possibly being a light tan. It could just be a matter of lighting for the "dark shorts".

Because most are probably very outdated technology-wise. We update our phones every two years, but most video security systems might get updated every decade, maybe? And a smaller business like a franchised QuikTrip might do it less frequently than that because of the costs associated with it.

Regardless of if he did shoplift and whether or not the pictures match, he didn't deserve to die. It still doesn't make this okay. Not even in the slightest.
I keep going back and forth on whether or not the robbery suspect is Mike Brown. At first, I thought no... but it seems like both Mike Brown and the man in the robbery have some kind of distinctive pattern on their socks. I'm starting to think that was indeed Mike Brown.

No, he was shot for presumably assaulting an officer and trying to get his gun. Seeing as how brown had no problem assaulting a tiny elderly person, it's possible he'd have no problem trying the same shit with a cop.

Wasn't the original story that he ran from the cop cruiser when they tried to question him? If he was a suspect for the robbery and then ran away when you attempted to question him, what would you do? There's like a two second window to make a decision and the cop chose to use his gun. Maybe he was trying to fire a warning shot, maybe he was out of range for the tazer, I don't know. All I do know is that you don't let a robbery suspect run away scot free after you attempt to question him.
That said, if the stories of Brown putting up his arms and surrendering are true, then it's clear the officer used excessive force and should be prosecuted.
Unless he actually tried to take the cops gun, then I don't know wtf happens. Crazy story all around.
Or the hat, guy in the grainy pic is wearing a hat, there's no hat in the pics of Brown dead in the street.
