Has this video been posted? Not sure if I need a warning, but strong language is used.

This would appear to be a third witness, aside from the already known Dorian Johnson and Tiffany Mitchell. I found it through Antonio French's twitter feed (he is the alderman in Ferguson that was arrested). Someone in the comments does give a name (Jack Larson), but they may be talking about who posted the video or something else, not clear. These comments are really sickening and not informative so I don't have the hear to go through them all. I haven't seen this video anywhere else.

Quoting self for next page.

I know this is a few pages back and maybe this is not something I should do (I'm trying to play catch-up and this thread exploded after the last time I was here), but I really want people to read what you said, because it's so important.

The cop left the scene? Damn. Could I have some sources to confirm it.

So the Chief is stating that Dorian Johnson will not be charged, and that they do not believe he was involved in the robbery at the store.

States that the officer who shot Brown was not the officer initially called for the robbery, and that their meeting was unrelated.

I thought the Chief said this morning that the description came out, and that the Officer who shot him was responding to the robbery? Unless I'm mistaken.

"Initial contact between the Officer and Mr. Brown was not related to the robbery"

We're back to square one then on why Darren Wilson stopped Brown and Johnson.

Man, this whole thing is just fucked up. All this is doing is creating more confusion. Now he's being grilled for basically flooding the media with their accusations of Brown, and now basically diverting that by stating that the officer who shot Brown had nothing to do with the robbery.

I used the words allegedly because it is an incidence report. Also, Brown's never going to have his day in court because Darren Wilson took that away from him along with his life. So I used alleged, it is because he's not have been convicted of anything yet and never will be.
Fair enough

Nobody is defending it, people are saying that bringing up is a smokescreen for justification of the shooting. I'm not trying to make Michael Brown into a saint here, but trying to focus only on the convenience store robbery is an implication that that Brown's own actions led to his death.
There were some defenses though. I merely pointed out defending the robbery is just as bad as using it for justification. That's beyond fair to say, no?

That is the issue I have with your posts. You're trying to force people to focus on something that is tangentially related to the issue that an officer shot Brown multiple times.

At least own up to that.

No, you're misinterpreting my posts. I've said at least twice it's not directly related. It could give reasons for actions from either side on that street, but doesn't justify any excessive force.

I quoted Zoe after reading a few posts from said poster that were very logical, but brushed aside. That lead to some people seeming to want to defend every aspect of Brown's life, which is completely unnecessary for a case of excessive force.

Obviously him stealing a pack of cigarillos from a store justifies his execution style.

Go play in traffic; it'd be the smartest thing you've done all day.

Who said anything about saying he deserved to die? Wasn't me.

I stole cigarettes from the store as a kid. I don't think I deserve to die for it either.

Someone asked if the items in question on the video were found on Michael Brown. The Chief stated that they were.

That right there is going to be the PD's saving grace from this really exploding.

So what the police are saying is that he deserved die because he stole something? What is the point of the video? It doesn't show anything that involves the shooting of an unarmed citizen by a police officer.

Arguably it sets up a reason for the cop to stop him, and a motive for Brown to be hostile towards the cop. It's the first steps toward building a case of self-defense.

I must've missed this -- is there a link to the video?

from the bits and pieces I've read so far it sounds like they're trying to smear Brown's character but have no idea what they're doing or really how to go on about it. They're reaching for an excuse, any excuse, to justify the injustice that took place.

So again, the point of releasing the video is....? Seems to be to dehumanize the victim.

It pretty much is, by releasing the video it helps people justify his execution in their mind. Point in case many upon many remedial people in this very thread as of late with their not at all subtle bullshit.

They already stated that the stop had nothing to do with the incident at the store.

I saw this video on worldstar a few days ago. I believe him. The cop executed the kid and they know he executed the kid. That's why they won't give out a name. The kid had no weapons on him and he shoots him 9 times.

Can I get an abridged version as to all that's happened. This thread is 160 pages long

Cop shot an unarmed black man for no reason.
People got angry.
Local police decided to LARP Iraq for a few nights.
Saner authorities intervened.
Situation calmed down, victim blaming started on Neogaf.
