how's season 4 gonna work then
Why are you people insisting they'll kill Tenzin off? I mean I'm not saying it won't happen but this is a series that outside of the queen doesn't kill people willy nilly. They just had their shock death scene not too long ago, they won't be killing everybody for the sake of showing us how edgy these guys are when the whole season they haven't killed.
They killed the eath queen because it's part of their code and mission, with entropy/anarchy or w/e. Zaheer was taunting Korra into coming, he even told the air benders that none of them would be harmed as long as they played ball. He's big on air culture, he isn't about to kill the world's master airbender because he says he won't stop fighting him. All you have to do is beat him senseless.
This is still Nickelodeon and the show wasn't always planned to be taken off the air. Tenzin is too important to the show as the leader of a rebuilding air nation to be killed off, again for little reason besides "they killed the earth queen, everybody is fair game now". They're not maniacs.
I don't think they will kill him... I was just saying they could if they wanted to lol.
eitehr way I am excited for next week... hopefully it finishes strong.-
Not will kill Tenzin off, did kill Tenzin off. He dies at the end of the episode that aired today.
Again, everything about the way that scene was presented was a buildup to Tenzin's death.
If they wanted to show that he got knocked out, they just would have knocked him out and showed him on the ground, like they do with everyone else who gets knocked out in this show.
They explicitly had him tell Zaheer that he'd never stop fighting as long as he was breathing.
He's dead, Jim.

That scene had not enough tension for death. It just ended with them beating up on him with bending. If they wanted to kill somebody they'd make it obvious. Like showing you their gasping breaths of air. They're not going to kill a major character off screen before the next episode airs.
This is basic writing 101. If you're going to kill a major character in a battle, you make them have this really sad death on screen where somebody else screams their name or sees it happen. Why are you so confident on a kid's show? One death of a bad character =/= game of thrones. That's not how it works for 99% of shows.
This is like the 'Zelda is a girl in the Wii U teaser, let's focus on this one gif where it kinda looks like he has boobs'. Some were insisting he was a girl with overanalyzation that disregarded the obvious/

In fact the episode ended with pretty boy going flying to get help, probably finding Korra. This was meant to show us how badly the airbenders got beaten, with their leader being completely beaten so he doesn't cause any problems. They'll probably put him in a jail cell or some form of earth/water shackles.

Sounds like avatar bet time.
There's no way he dies by the end of this episode. At best he gets beaten down into unconciousness and is taken as the main hostage, leaving Korra furious.

They went off screen to make people think "what if". Basically the classical way of saying, "He's still alive" in most shows. They'd show it if he died.
lol, I literally said all of this verbatim yesterday but he not hearing me.
Stand and be counted! Did Tenzin live, or die?
#TeamAlive: Trey, Satch, Mariolee, Admiral Woofington, Hamlet
#TeamDemise: Htown, Spring-Loaded
You're probably right. But we'll see.
Honest Question: Would you guys watch a 3rd Avatar Series?
I just don't get why you guys think Zaheer and friends wouldn't do this. Literally everything about the characters and the situation as presented leads to the inescapable conclusion that Tenzin sacrificed his life valiantly in an attempt to keep the Red Lotus from taking the new air nation.
But this is Legend of Korra. Anything can happen even if it's illogical.
It's not bloodlust, it's looking at the way the scene was presented.
Again, there is literally no reason for Zaheer and friends to leave Tenzin alive. They already have the rest of the airbenders, so they still have leverage against Korra. They already think they killed Bumi and Kya, and ol' Water Arms was forming giant ice swords to try to cut Kya in half. They don't care about killing people. And Tenzin, who can handle a one-on-one with Zaheer with ease, has just said he'll never stop as long as he's breathing. Literally the next thing that happens is Zaheer frowns, then they start attacking him again, the "camera" hides behind a wall and we hear Tenzin cry out.
This is Zaheer, who literally murdered the Earth Queen, and tossed a man's soul into the Fog of Lost Souls for eternity just for failing him.

"We're gonna kill you and that's why we're specifically asking you to surrender and using non-lethal attacks to beat you into submission."
'Kay.
They asked him to surrender. He refused. Then they killed him.
By smacking him with small attacks and dodging his potshots.
Zaheer just suffocated someone to death and you think that's the best they can do to kill someone.
...'Kay.
count me on team alive.
I still think he's dead. That wording and camera pan heavily implied they killed him.
But seriously, why would they have the character just bring up, "as long as I'm still breathing", in that context, if the implication wasn't "well I guess we'll have to stop that then?"

This is like the second most ridiculous thing I've ever felt I have argued in an Avatar series. For reference, the first was shipping battles back when the first show was airing.

I've dealt with "the flowers in Zuko's room being red and blue means Zutara4ever" arguments.
Nothing can faze me now.
Think of it this way: Legend of Korra is finally decent enough to have a meta surround it in this thread. That means the community actually cares.
The whole Opal and Suyin Beifong are evil or part of Red Lotus was just as silly also.
Unless there's a big twist in the finale which I doubt.
They killed the Earth Queen essentially onscreen. Watch how the Red Lotus fight Bolin and Mako (who they keep alive since they're still trying to get Korra to come to them) then watch how they're fighting Kya and Bumi. No fucks given in the latter fight.Because 'I will never give up as long as I am conscious and able to fight and you guys don't gang up on me and slap me with small attacks' isn't nearly as powerful. It's like you think he's the only guy in the history of tv who has ever uttered these words.
It's not like he said "man after we evacuate the air benders I'm retiring"
Now THAT is a death sentence by western writing standards.
count me in on #teamalive
Cip from Episode 12 .
After re-watching the episode, i really dislike how Iroh being used again as to show Korra what is right in front of her.
Korra saying that Zuko knows Aang the best while Katara is still alive is -_-
