The lack of visible identification on officers on the stream is troubling. Many reports/questions on Twitter about whether that's confined to those officers.

Let's be honest. Most white people outside of GAF didn't really care about black protestors being tear gassed until it happened to Al Jazeera and those two reporters getting assaulted and detained.

I think you are wrong. The white people who didn't give a shit about a black kid being killed and then black protestors getting tear gassed probably aren't going to give a single fuck about a network they associate with Arab terrorists.

Objectivity of prosecutor in Missouri shooting of Michael Brown is questioned

That's...interesting. I'm not sure how to internalize that.

On one hand it seems very unfair to question people who suffered a traumatic event for having suffered a traumatic event, but on the other hand I can't imagine anyone would be able to be objective in a situation like that.

Just looked up the Murray and Beasley case that this article talks about.

If this guy remains the guy handling the case, the officer will not be convicted.

The media zone is in blue. The area in red is about one mile long and has been the center of most activity.

It's really upsetting that there are people who think all of those in Ferguson are thugs. Why is it so difficult for people to understand that among the small amount of troublemakers, there are by a significant majority, protesters and by standers.

Why is it that in protests such as the G20 in Toronto and the post Vancouver hockey game riot, people are easily able to identify that there are a few troublemakers in the crowd. The same situation happened there where people stayed at night to see what the police would do. What makes Ferguson any different?

Is this how it has come to? In 2014?

I'm not black nor American but seeing how people are perceived these days is really scary and I'm worried for what's to come in the future.

Edit: re watched g20 and realised ferguson hasnt come to that level of police abuse yet.

Toronto and Vancouver are in Canada though...

Tinfoil hat time?

Just after I read your comment I saw this on the stream:
Nah, last time a lot of people streaming were knocked off temporarily.

I assume they used a jammer because SWAT in most PDs have jamming equipment usually reserved for EOD. To jam signals of any cellphones when there is a bomb. When they were all tear gas throwing and firing rubber bullets it's when it was possibly used.

Seemed like a bunch of disaster rubberneckers with no stake in this community filming to the tune of a racist chorus. Realized that by watching I was part of the problem and turned that shit off. I feel bad for the people who actually live there.

Seriously?

I don't think protestors are that bothered by the fact the media is covering them. Hell, media attention is about the only weapon they have.

They are about to set them folks up. The media can only see the bottom half of the hill.

The protesters defying the curfew are on the northern part of the strip, where there is zero media presence.
