Pic of the day. Nightmare Wizard appears as an Assist Trophy! He will engulf the stage in darkness, and fighters will need to brawl blindly for a while. Look out for the effect before it goes dark, and play it to your advantage. Blinding and reversal effects even make the computer players mess up.
I'm loving a lot of the new Assist Trophies in the new Smash so far! An Assist Trophy that I would love to see would be the Elite Beat Agents!

Well, that is true, but NIDL is a remake. Plus, while his in-game sprite isn't very detailed (it is an NES game):
his artwork for Adventure is pretty much the same. Pretty much just minor changes to his helmet were made:
Overall I think Adventure looks more aesthetically pleasing than NiD. I don't think more detailed is necessarily the best look for Kirby and in some cases the remake is less detailed/lazier.
At least nobody is referencing the anime.

I don't like the idea of blacking out the screen. He'll definitely be an assist trophy nobody likes. It would have been better if he appeared on screen, then wrapped his cloak around himself and became the cloaked nightmare. Then he could fly around shooting stars at random people. Maybe he could also make the stage really dark but you can still see. He'd be like an evil smash ball.

Actually, I think this design is derived more from his appearance in the anime than from his Adventure/NiDL design. For reference:

Not that I'm complaining because I thought the anime design was pretty cool.

No, he's not. The NME Salesman - the person who sold Dedede monsters - was just a figurehead for Nightmare's evil corporation. The two have similar faces, though.
Nightmare as an Assist Trophy is so awesome, I am stoked. I was always kinda a fan of effects that obscure the screen as well, so I'm happy all around! And he looks so coooool.
Nightmare's design between the anime and Nightmare in Dream Land is nearly identical (as NiDL had the vast majority of all of its visual designs shared with the anime) so...

Just so you guys know, in light of today's little snag with the voting (and me not know who created NeoGAF -_-), I'm going to comb through the first poll's results to make sure everyone is properly validated. I honestly don't think the results will change much, as the majority of people who voted on the first poll have informed in some way since that they voted. However, to keep it fair, I'll dig through it tomorrow.

Very true regarding the artwork.
I actually happen to be comparing Nightmare in Dream Land to Adventure for my blog and I've found I always keep going back and forth on which aesthetic I prefer! They did indeed get lazy in certain cases (the floating platforms, ick) and a couple of the backgrounds don't really mesh with Kirby at all (wtf is with that volcanic shit in Yogurt Yard?), yet a good chunk of the backgrounds still give me the warm fuzzies (never tire of the scope of the grassland from the first level!).

Oh, I see, I was going to ask you for a link so I could check them out, but on second thought, that's probably not a good idea as we don't know how realistic they are and it could end up being more confusing to other guys here. I'll have to wait for the confirmed results then
Hmmm... well some would say the selection of games in best, the remixed stages have more mixed games and Super Luigi Bros is quite a nice bonus, however I found a lot of the challenges were basically just taking you through snapshots of the games rather than exploring their mechanics. That's what happens when they move away from single screen games to multi level games.
