Well, it was in the first poll before voting had to be verified by PM, so it may have been someone just putting that for shits and giggles. I'll PM to check, though!

Pretty much! When I initially put up the poll, there was no PM requirement, but that was only up for two days before I switched over to the verification. I still double checked most of the first poll if I didn't recognize the name or if they didn't vote in the second poll informing me they had already voted.

I voted ol' T. Yoshisaur Muchakoopas as my second pick. Glad to see he placed! Ever since Yoshi's Story, he's had childhood-related sentimental value to me, and he's my character of choice in every Mario Party and Mario Kart, and even the original Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo 64!

A couple months ago, RagnarokX was making gifs after every PotD documenting the trials and tribulations of perennial Smash reject Ridley. They were really funny, but there hasn't been one since OT 7 or 8, I think.

Anyway, back on topic, I really like Yoshi (though it's kinda sad he seems to have peaked at Yoshi's Island. It's hard not to call his other games mediocre.), but I really don't like how he plays in Smash Bros. he's just never been a character I've ever felt comfortable playing.

Yoshi was always the Smash character I cared about the least way back when I was nine years old playing Smash 64 and eleven playing Melee.
But I LOVED Yoshi's Island. I played so much of Yoshi's Island on my SNES. As a kid, games could take me a whole year to complete. But at the least, it took a few months. I remember spending a really long time on Yoshi's Island and loving every second of it.
But Yoshi as a Smash fighter just never worked for me. I would bet everyone has a character in Smash that does literally nothing for them and Yoshi is that character for me. If Yoshi was never in 64 I would never consider him viable either.
As a conversation point, who is YOUR fighter that you have absolutely no feelings for positivity or negativity? If they disappeared, who would not matter to you?
Other than Yoshi, mine is Wario. Which is also weird, because Wario outside of Smash is one of my favorite Nintendo characters. And yet...
