About militarization, Obama has stated that the increase in more advanced policing equipment started since after 9/11 and has since provided useful tools for extremely under-equipped department. However, he says, he believes there will be some scrutinizing after this of how the grants are being used and how they use that money and what they get. He doesn't say that he specifically would push for this, but he believes it will happen.
In a way I think he agrees that this incident has shown the militarization is going too far and that there needs to be a step back. Photographs about these protests shouldn't look like Tienanmen Square.

Sarcasm quotes aside, that's 100% correct. The President is making the safest fucking responses ever, and that's unfortunate.
I understand why it's happening, but it doesn't change the fact that I'd like to hear a stronger condemnation on the police, especially these Ferguson toolbags. This entire thing has been scummy well before the riots and looting started.

im certainly not buying Wilson was in a positive minset. you dont let of six shots at another unarmed human being without some amount of anger. that six shots, thats a decent amount of bullets intended for one human being. Wilson had to be pissed in some capacity .
I honestly believe even if term limits didn't exist most Presidents would not want to go longer in the Oval Office.

I think I agree with what Obama is saying right now. He can't speak freely right now because he'll be accused of tipping the scales in his favor when it comes to the DoJ investigation, considering they work under him.
Yeah, it's unfortunate he's not making bold statements based on his own investigation that hasn't been completed yet.

If Brown was running towards the cop when shot, wouldn't that be really easy to prove based on blood splatter? Likewise, if he was standing still, wouldn't that be really easy to prove as well?
Of course. However people have a hard time understanding that for some reason.

As soon as Obama hit office, his policy became appeasement to both left and right. Not sure who in his cabinet told him to keep that direction. He's a lame duck and could at the very least make his last few years have some lasting impact for the nation.
It's so frustrating to hear him speak and try not to rile feathers. His campaign prior to becoming president was all about shaking things up.

He can't force congress to make laws man. Separation of powers and all that. You have one party who wants to see him fail at all costs it's surprising and depressing some people still don't understand this.
