I don't agree honestly. Look at the big picture man.

NSA is collecting data on all of us and the only person in trouble is the one who told us, hiding in Russia. It sends a message that trickles out from the top down. It's open season on people, journalists, protesters. 4th amendment doesn't count, 1st amendment doesn't count.

There are tons of different examples of just raw abuse of authority, all across the country. This same thing happened to Occupy Wall Street too.

And yeah, it's not a coincidence that we're wrapping up 10 years of urban, house to house war in the middle east. Many of those veterans take up jobs in police and private security. They get gifted military gear. They get training now to raid houses for minor drug offenses in the exact same style they raided houses in Iraq.

None of this is isolated. Alex Jones is crazy at times, but you know what? He got this shit 100% right, before everyone.

This has been happening overseas to Muslims, and domestically to a lesser extent for 10 years. Then it was happening to journalists. Then whistleblowers. Then political protesters. Next it'll just be anyone; minorities first.

There have been plenty of people talking about the the militarization at home that aren't Alex Jones and have far more insightful shit to say.

See, you just want to believe in the conspiracy silliness, it's about making the world far more exciting than it actually is. If you want to believe that stuff, that's up to you. I respect your right to believe in what you like. But... before NSA, America was collecting data through the mail they got in the system. They had alarmingly precise cataloging systems which spied on millions of Americans. Now, that sort of data collection is simply digital and through our smart devices. There is no device, the delivery and method of capturing the data has simply evolved for modern lives.

Every city that has existed has had systems in place like this, from Ancient Rome right on down to the most totalitarian states today and even relatively freedom loving countries like the USA. Every country compromises their values on some level, and it's all about what the people are willing to accept once they find out. Nothing is happening to journalists now that hasn't happened for decades. First amendment counts now precisely the same amount as it counted before.

This is the same generalized wide eyed irrationality that makes people fear out of proportion with the reality around them.

Yes, we need to be skeptical about the countries in which we live. Yes, we should be cognizant that they do not always follow the law of the land, and sometimes they overstep their authority. Yes, we absolutely should fight against the times that occur

But there is no emerging police state. The constitution is not at risk, and is no more being encroached on now then when Jefferson was busy expanding the presidency far beyond the bounds of constitutional law. This is an internal debate as old as time, and sensationalizing it just makes the whole subject a cartoon when it is real life.

I'm just trying to learn here, so pardon my direct question, is anarchist a general term or are you guys insinuating there are actual anarchists among the crowd?

There's an actual group of white anarchists in the crowd, they're pretty well known for showing up to protests and then trying to start all kinds of shit.

Anarchists are not new to any large protest scene. Downtown oakland saw alot of out of towners cause trouble during occupy and the Oscar grant protests for example

There have been actual anarchists in the crowd. There have also been RCP (Revolutionary Communist Party) among them wearing Bob Avakian T-shirts.

Was he Black? I pray he wasn't cause unfortunately, that is a Fox News gold mine.

:(
He was. Hard to say what he said, a lot of what he said got caught by Fox News' 5 second delay, though they still missed at least one "shit" that slipped by them.

What did the police expect? They escalated the situation by firing off tear gas aggressively, simply because protesters were standing on the street.

I'm all for protesting, properly. But when you enter a buffer zone, one that's set for both side's protection, you can expect to get a response. That's not how to protest. If you think that the police were aggressive with smoke, gas, and flash bangs, you're wrong. There was no call for gun fire, period. That's not how to protest and in the end it muck's up your voice.

Now, if it's some anarchist groups, then they need to get those scumbags snatched up fast, and it's in the best interest of both sides to stop them and fast.

Another lady on Vice speaking truth.

But you know, we can't have a conversation about this, because reasons. Stop whining, lady!

...Holy shit, Viceception. This woman helped the other Vice reporters the other night.

All of the main media outlets covering this now. Some idiot is going to want to make himself famous and make this even worse.

The idea of America and other 1st world countries gradually transitioning into police states is not anything new, or worthy of being mentioned as if it is some sort of amazing insight. The amount of stuff Alex Jones gets wrong far, far outweighs this case of him getting it right. Thousands and thousands of other people have predicted this to occur.

And getting it right before anyone else? No, not by a long shot.

Agreed, in fact the book which introduced us to the term "Big Brother" (Nineteen Eighty-Four) was released in 1949.

So it's confirmed they're there?

There's a woman on the VICE stream saying a lot of the young protestors truly believe they're at war with police.

I guess that's what happens when statistically police target minorities like they have for a while now.
