Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

I bought all of my consoles from there and the majority of my games.

They are completely legitimate and you should buy from them.

They also used to be great for giving you pre orders a day or two early as well.

It was actually a joke about how that XBone price was anything but a deal (you can get the console+kinect+a launch game for less than that), wasn't referring to ShopTo (although you do know that they're banned here, right? And with good reason.)

You can?

I thought the console without kinect with a choice of Destiny, FIFA 15 or Sunset Overdrive (white console) were the best prices for it at the moment.

Yeahh, mate's selling his Ocarina 3D for £20, so definitely taking it given the prices this game goes for.

Thanks for the help and info about my options for it, guys. Oh, and the info on HMV, hah.

Its not a bad price - throwing some other options out there :

£10 cheaper for the same deal (at Zavvi)

£25 cheaper if you buy an American one

£50 cheaper without a game

ha, well I dunno it was their payment guys that messed up not actually shopto themselves I do think the ban was a little harsh though.

I used to use them a lot and think they're great. Only stopped as I went digital.

I can definitely see why people would be against going for an American console or pre owned. Each to their own of course!

American wouldn't be so bad but getting it shipped without the massive import taxes ect would be hard.

Preowned just wouldn't touch as for the what £20 you'll save you be losing some of the manufacturers warranty, Obviously depending on who you buy it from.

Circle pad pro XL is £9.85 on Amazon and various Shopto channels. The Amazon one is temporarily out of stock though.

This is a fairly niche product due to not supporting a great deal of games (the internet is terrible for finding lists as well, the best ones I can find are missing 3D Galaxy Force II at the very least) but in the game it does support it is usually useful to have but is the best price I've seen on the XL version.

Apparently if you are a Gold shopto member (see its not just GAF that has gold membership) you can get it for £8.95 though. Apparently it was £8.95 for all yearterday and rising prices shortly after a sale is a tactic shopto do deploy a lot of.

Wind Waker HD for £25 @ Tesco with code TDX-TNWT (£5 off £30+ in Entertainment)

I really want to get this at £20 but haven't seen it hit that price at all (for disc copy). Kinda tempted by this for £25 now...

Just realised you could get Hyrule Warriors for £29 this way too. They take the money at time of order. I have it pre-ordered at TGC for £29.95 so not a massive deal to me.

I think I just got screwed by some amazon marketplace dealer, I'm not entirely sure though...

I bought splinter cell blacklist (WiiU) and the shrink wrap is missing the Nintendo seal. Or is this normal for 3rd party games?

Yeah I picked one up for £9.85 at Shopto. It will come in handy for Resi:R, and of course MH4U.

Maybe Kid Icarus, but then I checked out a video on how the game controls with the Circle Pad, and it still looks....odd.

Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn't.
Splinter Cell Blacklist should have a Club Nintendo code included.

Gamestop are doing a trade in deal for a bunch of preorders (most notably probably Destiny, GTAV.V and Dragon Age) where if you trade in two games from their eclectic list of games you get £40 off.

I believe gaffers have had good luck with these deals in the past (like The Last Of Us one)?
Planning on trading in Lego Marvel and Persona 4 Arena towards Destiny myself.

Deal here
Via HotUKDeals

Does Yodel have no fucking humans working in their phone support. How do I get through. Just a loop of automated messages. Most call centres kick you into a human if they don't understand the tracking code or you need more info or some other fucking crap. Ugh,.

lol Yodel. I just cancel my order when they come up. It's easier.

Bug their social media guys politely but directly. They're usually pretty good and they'll give you a call.

What I am about to do since they just got on. I have deliveries through Yodel several times every week with zero problems. Then yesterday they say there is a problem with my address. The address on the tracking page is as it should be. Not like I live in the middle of fucking nowhere and this is the first time a parcel is coming to my house from them.

Nice one, I never replaced my standard CPP and was thinking of getting one for MH4.
Thanks

persona , beyblade , ninja gaiden are ten. where do you get the rest sub ten from

Read the Hotukdeals thread those 3 plus Lego Batman 2 are the 'cheapest'

Lego Batman 2 £9.99 : www.thegamecollection.net/lego-batman-2-dc-super-heroes-wii-u.html

or buy it used for £7.98 : http://www.play.com/Games/Wii/4-/31...urce=0&searchtype=allproducts&urlrefer=search

Remember you can pick the games up 2nd hand from other places to trade in - although some people have reported issues with similar deals in the past

** edit ** also it seems they change you full price on order (and then refund you later)

Just did the "Save £40 on a pre-order when you trade in two games at Gamestop" offer (This one. I bought LEGO Batman 2 on the Wii U, Persona 4 Arena on the 360, Ninja Gaiden on the Wii U, and Beyblade Evolution on the 3DS from TheGameCollection.net for £40 altogether, getting me £80 off AC Unity and Destiny on PS4.

OK guys, I'm planning on getting an Xbox One before or on the launch of Halo MCC in November. I'm going to Florida on holiday in a couple of weeks, and I've considered buying one over there as it works out quite a lot cheaper with the exchange rate as good as it is at the mo.

Not too sure if this is a good idea, or whether to just wait for a nice bundle and pay a bit more over here.

Will there be any extra costs involved for bringing this back into the UK? Would I have any support available to me should my console go faulty? Would I be expected to send it back to the US?

Any help would be greatly appreciated on this.

Can't you just bin the box and treat it as a personal item that you took there? I do not know about MS warranty, but i know Sony warranties only cover the region you bought it in.

I would personally just buy one here.

The console is region free for games - but the DVD / Blu ray drive is region locked so if you intended to use it for watching movies that might be an issue.

The plug will need an adapter to be used in the UK

And apart from that I think you've hit on the other possible problem which is warranty - I *think* you'd be okay as Microsoft are a global company and if you raised a problem they should deal with it but you might get a bit of a runaround if you did have to claim.

You also probably need to ditch all the paperwork / packaging for it to bring it back in (otherwise the difference in price would be offset by the customs charges) - if its stuff you want then parcel it up and mail it to yourself from the US

Depends if you're unlucky enough to be randomly picked up for a customs inspection at the aiport.

Stuff like warranty and support is the risk you take when you buy a console abroad. Sure, you're getting it cheaper but terms & condition may not apply if they're US based only. Not to say that MS are doing the same but my friend had problems trying to get a US bought and registered Iphone 5 repaired at a UK Apple store because it was all set up in the US. They wouldn't repair it under the warranty for whatever reason (they were willing to repair it if he paid). Carefully read your Xbox One's terms and conditions and know your rights.

Shame about needing a UK adaptor for the Xbox. For a PS4 all you need is a 2 Pin Figure 8 Mains power cable that you can easily pick up for less than a fiver.

That still doesn't mean that he absolutely has to pay tax or customs. That only happens when the product's value(/price) is high enough to be subject to tax and customs fees, which the Xbox One might not be. In Germany, the value must be under 430€, which the Xbox One would fit under (especially the Kinect-less version). Don't know how that works in the UK though.

Are you sure? Does the PS4 have a universal power adapter that adjusts to the voltage it gets? If so, thats pretty cool. Otherwise, by changing just the cable, you'd fry the 110V internal power adapter with 220V, and that's never nice.

The Xbox One uses an external power adapter, so you'd either have to change that for a UK one or buy a step down converter for the American cable. Either way, it will create extra cost.

yes ps4 does only need the 8 plug thing as i got that as my console is american nothing else is needed.. and it obviously wont play UK dvd/blurays

A mate wants to pre-order US version of Senran Kagura Shinovi to Austria from Play-Asia. Anyone know what their service is like? Any import tax to Austria? Thanks for any help.

Remember this is talking about you walking off the plane rather than ordering online:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/customs/arriving/arrivingnoneu.htm
£390 is the personal allowance for goods from my reading of that. So shouldn't matter if it has packaging anyway. But please read it yourself in case I am wrong.

WUT. Since when? Please explain.
Remember duty/=/tax. I found on a non-HMRC site it saying the duty rate was 0% (tax will still apply though, unless you are walking off a plane and using your allowance) but HMRCs site does not yield a clear answer in the minute of looking.

If you're ordering from Play Asia you are almost guaranteed to have to pay import tax, unless the item is under $20 or so.
A much better idea would be to order from https://www.videogamesplus.ca in Canada as they tend to mark down packages.
So far I haven't been hit with tax from one of their orders.

This man speaks the truth. Customs likes Play-Asia packages.

Also their delivery is really slow. Like 2-3 weeks.

VGP on the other hand is fast (under a week for me) and I've also never been hit. Their shipping will cost you(r) friend CAD$7.49 though.

Wild goose chase alert. Bravely Default 3DS £16.99 in Argos. In store only and you have to enter code 142/8117.

Any stores it has been found in there was only one copy. Please do not waste time going to Argos for this as it is 99% chance of being a wild goose chase but if you walking past one anyway, go ahead and try.

Nice just had a look and can get the camo xb1 controller for 35 + 4 shipping.

I'm very interested...

The ps4 for 275 is also ridiculous.

I'm no expert on UK customs cost but - from your reasoning - if an online bought item priced over £18 is charged customs tax when it's mailed to this country do you honestly believe an Xbox One purchased overseas would not be subjected to customs tax if it was imported into the country via hand/checked luggage at an airport?

As far as I'm aware the power supply is rated 100-240v and I haven't had problems with my one.

I have had no import tax to Vienna so far but it seems my last order was lost on the way. I'll contact PA soon, let's see how things turn out.

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't know if I can be bothered with the hassle, plus I'd hate for it to go faulty and have to pay a fortune for it to be repaired. I think I'll just look out for a deal in the UK. Might pick up a second controller whilst I'm over there though!
