Pretty cool Duck Hunt Dog model, but this is probably fake. There's no way they put in two more clones but forgot Ice Climbers.

Is there any other such character 1st party or 3rd party that could go in with a franchise in that ESRB rating range? I know Leon back when brawl was coming out was brought up from time to time.

It seems to match up with the other cropped part from the original, doesn't it? If I'm following the thread correctly the faker of the leak has admitted to it but is only posting bits and pieces to mess around with everyone, right?

If Ice Climbers are cut, then its because of 3DS limitations as speculated. I highly doubt either Dark Pit or DMario were above IC in the priorty list.

Those two, were probably like Lucina, alts promoted to characters.

Well.. We got a character that Sakurai said that would not be in, one that can only punch, a Peach clone, a female Marth, two avatars with no "official" look (and one of them with 3 movesets), a disk that eats..

As much DHD looks absurd to me, you should not understimate Sakurai :p

There's no proof though they're the same.

The person saying he knew the leaker said he didn't have access to the original pics at the moment. And then someone posted this Duck Hunt Duck pic without a word. No clue if they're one in the same.

It's not like they couldn't have edited the renders. In fact, it's really easy to do convincingly, especially at that size and quality of image.

Honestly a bit surprised that people seem to be buying into this. We've seen much more convincing fakes at much higher quality.

My rule of thumb is that if the "leak" is withholding information they should have, like the full image of Bowser Jr or actual fucking shots/video of gameplay, it is very much reason for suspicion.

No, no, no. I mean, like, there's a difference between indifference / neutrality and outright negation. Sure, you can't jump as Olimar in his game, but neither can anyone else, really. Captain Toad hails from a franchise full of platforming where the playable characters have all been able to jump in some form or fashion, save for him.

I could definitely see a more generic Toad making it in like with Super Mario 3D World with tighter controls and jumps with a higher speed, though.

Interesting... can't say I'd be too disappointed by that. Lack of Ice Climbers and Chorus Kids is disappointing, but I'd love to see Doc return, and more newcomers are always fun.

Severely (SEVERELY) doubt it's real, but stranger things have happened.

The "3DS limitation" arguments should have ended as soon as Rosalina & Luma were revealed. If they're playable on 3DS then so are the Ice Climbers. People with game development experience have attested to the fact that the Ice Climbers are no more technically complex than Rosalina & Luma.

I have this weird feeling we're looking at a legit leak. And if so, it'll be interesting to see if Bowser Jr. rides in the Clown Car or whatever and has Koopa Kid alts... which would probably make that leak from awhile ago that no one believed for that very reason, well, legit.

It's true, though, that if this is legit, no one anywhere has said this is the full roster. So other rumored newcomers like the Chorus Kids could still have a chance... </wishful thinking>

If true, I want to understand the mind set of the following

Cutting: Lucas and Wolf

Keeping: Falco, Toon Link

Bringing Back from Melee: Dr Mario

Adding clones: Lucina, Dark Pit

I can get adding Lucina and Dark Pit as popular characters that would be easy clones, but why cut Lucas and Wolf while keeping Toon Link and Falco? If they started by porting up Brawl wouldn't finishing touches on Brawl's clones be easier then making all new clones?

And why oh why would you cut Lucas and Wolf who are both popular and actually original characters in their own franchise for Dr Mario the cloniest clone of all

No, the leak only listed DHD, Koopa Car, Dark Pit, and Dr. Mario. It was a similar leak that was posted that caused the "main" guy to post.

I wouldn't be shocked if this was fake but realtalk, I'm leaning towards believing it. Everything generally looks really professional and would be a lot of work to fake from the ground up. However I don't think it's complete, it sounds ridiculous to me that Ice Climbers and a RH rep wouldn't be in.
