Two separate off screen photos don't line up down to the pixel. Well no shit, they weren't taken the same way, same distance, camera ect. That will make it almost impossible. Otherwise it looks perfect.

I can't deny that I'm not getting that same feeling right now. It's very similar to when the Brawl roster with Wolf leaked. So many people didn't believe it because they didn't want to, and then... well.

Eh, if this ends up being the actual roster, I'm still super happy because I have Mega Man and some others, but Chorus Kids being relegated to DLC and Dr. Mario getting added back in even as the Ice Climbers, Wolf, and Lucas are cut just hurts. Hurts badly.

I wouldn't say it sucks... well, okay, it kinda does I guess, but I find it easy to warm up to. Bowser Jr. and Duck Hunt Dog certainly weren't on my wishlist but I like them both a lot anyway, and while I'm sure most people would freak out about Doc returning I'd honestly think it was hilarious, wouldn't mind at all.

The amount of cuts is almost hard to believe though. Snake being cut would already hurt like a punch to the gut, but Ice Climbers, Wolf, and Lucas as well? Really? Unless that DLC list was from the same guy I find it very hard to believe that not one of those 6 characters made the cut. Surely one of them would out prioritize Toon Link.

the CSS looks so weird. Like it should be more organized in neat rows, the bottom two rows look incomplete.

Like there's 3 or 4 more characters and once they're unlocked everything shifts into a logical order.

Otherwise the order makes no sense at all.

Such a DLC list hurts its if anything! Why would you ever offer cut veterans from the last game as DLC over brand new newcomers? Someone like Bowser Jr. (Yuck) or Shulk makes more sense as a DC character than fucking Wolf.

Lots of little things. The UI looks a little different than the E3 demo. The placement of some of the characters and stages don't make sense: Yoshi is stuck in the middle of the Mario characters, and the stage screen is just a mess, with retro stages stuck in the midst of the new stages.

While I would be sad that some of the characters that I did like to play as were cut, I guess I'll be ok with it because most if not all the characters I've asked for are in the game.
You win some, you lose some. Though it still hurts to think like that. It'd be ideal if no one was cut but that's not happening.

Something else I just thought of that could potentially tip this back toward it being real: Brinstar is on that stage select screen, and we didn't even know Brinstar was in the 3DS version until literally last night. Of course, we don't know when these images were made, but if this is a fake, it's an incredibly elaborate one... seems like possibly having to add Brinstar in at the last second could mess the whole thing up.

While I'd be happy that there were no major cuts if you take into consideration how the the 'leak' on /v/ also claims Snake/Lucas/Wolf/Ice Climbers are DLC, I'd be disappointed Dr. Mario and Dark Pit were given priority over characters regulated to DLC and at the lack of a new DK/Metroid newcomer, along with Mewtwo staying gone. Not a huge bummer like some people are making out, but still a few awkward roster decisions. Duck Hunt Dog and the Koopaling Clown Car concept sound really fun

With Brawl it was more I was younger and stupid and thought the game would have a 50+ roster. In retrospect the only 'off' think about that game was ZSS being the closest thing to a newcomer Metroid got and Mewtwo getting cut.

The 'MOTHERFUCKING LEAKER' guy posted at least one of the pics (the 'full' shot of the roster with Bowser Jr. at the bottom before anyone else) and claimed to be the person posting the earlier shots which the person posting the earlier shots anonymously didn't dispute. Same person who talked about the DLC.

Not that it matters since this has way too many inconsistencies to be true and that stage selection looks horrible.

Nintendo sends the ESRB a direct feed video reel. They don't take blurry pictures of a 3DS device using a camera phone.

ESRB actually rates DLC if it's inconsistent with the original rating of the product. If Snake was considered too violent for E10+, they'd actually have to pass him by them.

But I don't know if Snake would actually warrant bumping it up a tier.

Thought of this as well. If I had to predict the returning Metroid stage on 3DS then my mind probably wouldn't jump straight to Brinstar since it already came back in Brawl (although the same could be said for Jungle Japes I suppose).

Well yeah, I guess that's true. So in the end, the roster would really be complete. The cuts are really the only thing that suck about it,I don't really need many more newcomers at this point, I just want the vets to return.

Good point. Like you said, this is very eerily similar to the pre-Brawl leaks, so at the very least I'm preparing to steel myself.

But for internal tracking purposes, to tell one build from one, they might've named it that for themselves. I do something similar with drafts of papers and videos I produce for work. And someone with a sense of humor at the Treehouse might've added the other flourish ("8008S").
