Ferguson: Police Kill 18yo Black Male; Fire Gas/Rubber Bullets Into Protesting Crowds

My head. My fucking head. I was in the thread where that perverted jerk posted pictures of the ISIS beheading without warning and this somehow manages to elicit a headache from me.

What thread did this happen in?! That's fucked in the head

Is Tim Howard there???

Ferguson, Missouri

Fake Edit: Top of the page! So I'll add this.

It didn't end well for the cops that beat the shit out of Rodney king did it?
At bare minimum, they were charged. Also, 2 of them ended up in jail.
I'm also curious as to how people on that jury felt, knowing that their decision indirectly (or directly in some people's eyes) led to the death of 53 people via the LA Riots

Conflict of interest is one of those "better safe than sorry" things in pretty much every single career there is.

And even the suggestion of one kills credibility.

Why is it a conflict of interest though? As the prosecuting attorney for St Louis, I can guarantee that he has likely been involved in cases involving the members of all races. If he has been cited for unfair treatment towards black defendants previously or some sort of conspiracy to with hold or manipulate evidence towards black defendants, I could see where there may be a point here. But from my understanding, someone hasn't been able to point out a specific part of his case history that indicates he may be holding some sort of bias.

If I'm wrong, I'd love to be corrected.

To be honest though I am not surprised at any accusation of him rushing at the officer still be talked about or even possibly being used in the court. There are people that are going to keep bringing that narrative up.

I don't see why ANYONE would run FULL SPEED at an officer AFTER a shot had already been fired.

They'll probably claim that Mike Brown called him a cracker.

In regards to the robbery thing...I've always felt that regardless of what the officer actually knew, that he would bring that defense up. It's pretty obvious that even if he didn't know, one of the other officers surely would have coached him on it.

Unless someone has a smoking gun of him recorded saying "What? He was involved in a robbery?" or it's not written like that in his report or something (And I've heard that he didn't write a report), it's going to be in play.

Of course, the main issue is whether Mike Brown surrendered. If this goes to trial, I really hope the judge/prosecutor nails this point to the jury.

Small crowd, perhaps many did take the request of the police to stay inside tonight. It would be nice if there is one night of no near full escalation.

It's weird because isn't a jury chosen by selecting people who don't have a conflict of interest or personal bias towards the people involved? Why would the judge be any different?

Why are we even accepting this guys tweets as evidence of anything, by the way? How can he possibly know what the prosecution is going to present as their case? And again, saying the prosecution will present a case that precludes a trial in the first place is...dumb. He just sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Its entirely possible that he's wrong.

But in a thread moving this fast, unfortunately people take lots of things as fact when they are not. Just like when people kept posting that racist website with a 7 year old file photo.

But, it is unfortunately not hard for me to imagine DA corruption defending the cop, I wish it were, but its really not for me.

I'd hold back on posting stuff from him in the future. He mentioned stuff earlier that ended up being completely false. Those posts riled people up for no reason.

As a whole, I think the Twitter stuff needs at least two-three sources before it should be posted here. Too much misinformation in the guise of being first and fitting a certain narrative is being spread that way.

Okay. I'll be skeptical and wait before doing that again. Sorry everyone.

It's not even corruption. Characterizing a set of arguments as the prosecution's case doesn't make any sense if they would result in a situation where no case is necessary because there is no trial. It's a nonsensical position!

This is easily the biggest case he's ever have. No comparison.

This is easily the biggest case he's ever have. No comparison.

Which would mean that it would be under greater scrutiny, and as a result, would likely be much more difficult to act on bias (and this is if we disregard the fact that he is not even going to be making the arguments tomorrow). Previous case histories of other crimes, under a smaller observing lens, would be a more suitable test to see if his family history has biased his position as the prosecuting attorney. And if so, he should be removed. Plain and simple. But not just from this case, but as position as prosecuting attorney, because if it is impossible for him to prosecute a case involving a black defendant or a black victim he should not hold that position in St. Louis.

Did I hear Tim say police had to shoot someone with a knife? Is that BS or not?

If they're talking about the shooting I'm thinking of, then yeah. Dude was crazy though. I'll let others argue over how justified it was.

I genuinely do fear what will happen if Wilson, fairly or unfairly, gets to walk away from this free as can be.

He will never be able to live on that side of the United States again, for one. It's too risky.

Also, we'd get a hell of a lot more of this, especially if they straight up don't charge him. If they have a trial and he's acquitted, I could see the blow being softened due to time.

Reports that they are about to start tear gassing soon. #ferguson

The police must've had a training class today. They're so personable before they shoot tear gas at you today. So nice. #STL #ferguson
