I don't think anyone needs to go out of their way to find evidence or whatever, if this is fake it'll disprove itself pretty quickly just via POTD updates.

Duck Hunt was one of the original games bundled with the NES and people have asked for him since Melee, that's enough of a reason for his inclusion.
Ice Climbers might have been lower on the priority list than the Koopa Kids character and Dr. Mario and Dark Pit will have started out as alternate costumes but moved to character slots, that doesn't require the same amount of effort as a new character.
And no, R&L and doesn't debunk Ice Climbers being too much, it debunks the fact that the 3DS might no be able to handle the polycount on the models, but the AI for Nana is still more advanced than Luma's is, it's like having 4 players and 4 level 3 CPU's on screen at the same time, whereas Luma just floats around sporadically.

Yeah any non-returning stage will do, because even if it's on the list, it may look different.
That or showing a different menu, confirming something from what is shown is a Wii U exclusive (stage etc.) and I'm sure there's more. We'll probably have something to confirm by the end of next week.

It is. Tools like Photoshop allow you to make alterations to things like hair. The reef placement, and chin's appear to be identical however.

Who are these people? All five of them? The amount of bandwagoning going on in the Smash community is embarrassing. As soon as one characters gets rumored, everybody starts putting it on their hypothetical roster even if nobody suggested it beforehand. Nobody gave a shit about the Duck Hunt Dog until the Ninka leak. Nobody gave a shit about the Chorus Kids until the second Gematsu leak. All of these "leaks" just keep piggybacking off of each other for attention, yet I'm still waiting for concrete proof. Maybe if this was posted before the Meta Knight reveal.

Nintendo would never charge money for characters in a smash Bros game.
Very likely they are adding them post launch and wanted to ship the game. It's also a way to build some hype for the Wii U version by slowly announcing those characters.

There are videos that show the thick black line thing can be reproduced on the 3DS demo version from E3/etc. It happens when a NPC is being highlighted/selected. So, crazy amounts of attention or simply coincidence if the leak is fake.

Again what YOU think about Yoshi's games and their relation to Mario's doesn't matter. It's what the Smash Bros. series defines them as. And they define Yoshi as a unique series from Mario, with its own trophy category in Brawl, it's own stages, it's own music, and it's own logo.
Even on the character selects Yoshi has never been directly paired up with Mario's stuff ever since Smash 64. To illustrate:
Red = Mario characters
Blue = Characters from the extended Mario universe (Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Wario).
There's no real concrete proof for or against the leak though.
Believe it or don't, it's not as if it matters, DHD is a good choice for a retro rep, I mean it's not my most wanted retro rep, probably my 2nd or 3rd, but it's a good choice.
As other have said, some mods have backed 'leaks' that turned out to be completely false before. There was also something mentioned a few weeks ago to the effect of mods circulating fake leaks on purpose that they would then 'vouch for'

Those aren't CPUs, we don't know what they are but they're meant to be something different, CPUs are shown further on in the image so I don't think if it was a faker he'd forget what he'd just done and then try to pass it off as real.
What is the concrete proof then?
Other than "Sakurai wouldn't do that", "This looks like edited official artwork even though there are plenty of differences", "Why doesn't this character who's never been shown to have fur have fur?".
Because none of them are "facts" that disprove it.
