Welcome, and there's always the import thread.

Started SSD yesterday and played for a couple of hours. It's really fun so far, if a little overwhelming. Can't wait to play more later today.

Edit: By the way, I noticed that the original Soul Sacrifice is gone from the European store, while it's still up in the US Store. Weird but understandable.

I don't know how active was Kassatsu on the thread he ran before the merge (it was the PS+ one, I believe), but he only shows up here twice: once to create the thread, and then to say "new thread tonight". So yeah, the OP never gets updated, and now we have dedicated threads for upcoming Vita and PS4 games instead of just this one.
I don't get it, but I'm cool with it.
 
I wonder if Don't Starve for Vita is going to launch a PS+ game, it releases the first week of September and the PS4 version was already on PS+...

They confirmed it won't be cross-buy, I doubt they'll launch free again.

I know I'll be supporting it.

This is why I rarely post here. Anything I say would just get brushed over by people banging on about the SAO anime or whatever. It's been particulalry bad over the last few weeks. You guys are great, but I have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

Remember when there was a Vita community thread, and this "news" thread wasn't a complete clusterfuck? Good times.
 
does anyone know what limits there are on activating/deactivating PS4s as 'primary' consoles? Or can I just deactivate, walk over to another PS4, sign in and activate it - then switch back again after playing?

Have a UK account for playing but some US PSN purchases, and about to buy a second PS4..

To be fair SAO:HF was released last week which is why the anime was being discussed and from what I've seen most if not all of that discussion has since moved on to the game's OT.

used to be a Playstation Network thread, then it became a vita thread, and now it is an anime/vita anime game thread. It does make it difficult to recommend or ask questions about any other kinds of games..

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I posted something about Minecraft or whatever and it was swamped in about 5 minutes. People can talk about what they want to talk about but it's disappointing seeing really the only place on the board to discuss the Vita getting laden down with talk of games I will never have any interest in.

I think I am not the only one who thinks that it would be great if everything would return to that state again. Would be a win-win situation for both groups but I doubt it will happen at this point.

I am sure there will be much more Minecraft Vita discussion once it releases. Just because you aren't interested in the titles released recently that are being discussed doesn't mean others aren't.

The real problem is this. Due to how they've fused various threads and the most populated one has "remained", the minorities now have nothing left. Still, I think there are some new threads when a new sale starts.

But we could add a new section for sales and all that. If it's not too troublesome for the OP it could add those sales when they are announced.

Yes, we were talking about SAO for like 3 days or so, which I pretty much expect to happen when a new interesting games appears, just like now everything is Soul Sacrifice Delta due to the recent sale.

As I understand it, PS4 version entitles you to the vita version as cross buy which has the DLC. But the PS4 version DLC isn't free, and costs $4.99 if you only have the old version or PS+ version. And if you have nothing the cross buy game is $14.99

You get the DLC "free" with the vita version because there is no version on vita that doesn't have it I guess. So if you want to show your appreciation, buy the $5 DLC on PS4.

It's just a shame that this thread is inpenetrable to anybody who might not be interested in those games. Aren't OTs available a week before the games release? What if I actually want to know what's coming out on PSN this week in Europe? This thread barely serves its purpose as it is, without having to sift through pages of obscure moe references and Flandy in-jokes just to find the important information that thread is meant for.

I agree entirely that having this thread as the default 'community' thread for all PS systems means that any news chat gets quickly lost amongst the conversations about specific titles or promotions or PS+/SEN, making it a bit rubbish at both jobs.

It seems a bit harsh to pick out specific games just because you aren't interested in them though- I've got zero interest in Minecraft, anime, Sword Art or Soul Sacrifice being on sale, and I'm sure I'll have to wade through people 'banging on' about the former on release just as I did for the latter two recently. If you want to talk about something specific that isn't currently the focus of this thread, the OTs are usually a better bet. I do sympathise, but it's the same for everyone. I imagine as the PS4 library expands this Autumn, this thread will expand to match and I'll be scrolling past conversations about the AAA action game of the week too. To each their own!

I hope that doesn't come across as rude or anything- at least I didn't brush over your post to talk about anime! :-)

I think the Vita focus doesn't just come from the former Vitagaf community thread. It's a smaller, more focused group of people, because niche-interest games are being released on a niche portable, whereas the PS3/4 fanbase is more liberally spread amongst the major game OTs and the general gaming discussion threads. The Vita has also had a fairly constant run of decent releases/ports this year, that has probably contributed too. I bought a Vita back in February, and this thread has become my regular Gaf stop for news because of the amount of cool download-only stuff to keep track of, whereas for the 3DS I tend to spread my browsing amongst the OTs for specific games.

Because people are talking about whatever had released/is releasing? They are talking about SSD because it's a good game that's on sale. People are talking about SAO because it's the game just got released recently. People are posting Neptunia screenshot because it's just released. I'm not sure your lack of interest of the upcoming releasing for PSN games is a good reason to blame on the Vita community. Embrace yourself for the next waifu war, a.k.a Danganronpa 2.

You don't expect to go to Xbox One firmware thread and have a heated discussion about the upcoming Halo Master Chief Collection, don't you?

The PS3 and PS4 always got thread dedicated to them no matter how small the news is. While Vita are mostly included into this thread or the other "upcoming 150 Vita games" thread, which the latter is mostly for news and less for discussion.

Same here. I own the game on PC, have it on PS4 through plus, plan to buy the DLC to support them and am planning to play almost exclusively on my Vita because the game seems absolutely perfect for that. If only I had it on my vita right now, I have a bunch of 15 minute breaks during my day and some Don't Starve would be ideal.

Also, don't want to get too involved with this whole "this thread should be different than it is" debate, but all I will say is this. People talk about what they want to talk about. Maybe if you post something that gets lost in the shuffle here it isn't that the world is against you, but just that no one wanted to talk about it right now. You can't force people to discuss things they don't want to. Similarly, you can't force someone to copy/paste the recent store additions from the PS Blog every week if no one wants to do it. We usually have it, sometimes we don't, that's just how it goes.
 
Don't see how the anime games talk is any more (or less) impenetrable than any talk about games one doesn't personally play, other than the fact it's more popular to hate on the anime stuff.

Just speak up, I've gotten and given plenty of info in this thread, but if you're just sitting back and hoping someone talks about what you want to talk about maybe it's not going to go as well. As someone who woke up at 2AM to preorder Neptunia Rebirth I'll gladly discuss most games coming to PS Vita or PS4 (indie especially)

BTW due to cross-buy having a separate Vita thread seems like it'd miss a lot of cross-talk about people talking about the same games. Someone playing Hohokum on PS4 is playing the same game as someone on Vita.

I mean, compare this thread to the Nintendo Downloads threads. Those threads are useful, and relevant information is readily available. This thread is a chatroom.

Anyway, what is coming out this week in Europe?

So I set an alarm last night for 2:50 AM to get the Neptunia LE from Amazon (I'm east coast).

My alarm never went off.

I'm writing it off as a sign it was never meant to be. :/

Do you have the PS4 version? If so, check your download list - cross-buy games don't let you purchase it for another plat when you already have it.
Or the store didn't update yet, of course.

I was hoping it wasn't coming, but sadly I expected this exact sentence. I personally don't find the Nintendo thread to be much different/any more "useful", there is a post every few pages with a list of things coming out on nintendo platforms, but other than that it is the same as this, but with a lower volume of talk (current nintendo thread is 1/4 the amount of pages as this one).

Anyway, I come to a discussion forum to discuss. I go to the Playstation Blog or news sites for information. You want to know what is out on PSN in europe this week? Some time tomorrow a post just like this one will show up on the blog listing everything that is new this week, all the discounts this week etc. Is it really "useful, relevant information" to copy and paste that list in this thread? In my mind, it is fairly useless unless paired with someone's opinions about each release. Admittedly I like the NA blog's layout more for new releases, but all the info is there.

Maybe nintendo doesn't have such a list readily available each week, so maybe it does make a lot of sense in that thread. But not so much here.

I'm not sure how much more useful you want it to be. Whatever people ask, there are always answer sooner or later. The release lists are readily available through out the thread, unless you want everyone to copy and paste it when they are at the top of the page. Every news are posted on PSN blog, so unless you want to know something that wasn't listed there, you would come here and ask. Otherwise people would just link you to the blog, which is just pointless on it own.

I don't know what's wrong with people talking about the game they are playing in PSN thread, honestly.

Well, it does, and all release dates and sales are listed in the OP. It's a great source of information.

I can't log into my PSN Account on the Web Store, either.

It keeps saying "Login failed" and then it reloads the page, hmm :/

EU PSN, btw.
