Slightly off topic, but I got my dad hooked on Avatar: The Last Airbender. He's 66. We've been watching a few episodes a night. We just started book 3.

Iroh is his favorite character. In the tales from Ba Sing Se episode when Iroh is singing to his dead son, my Dad started to tear up. Actually, so did I. I can't wait to show him the episodes in which Zuko changes his ways and when he finally reunites with his uncle in Sozin's Comet. It'll be great to see his reactions.
I'll probably tell him about Legend of Korra sometime after we finish the series.

Yeah, its a great show for anyone to watch. My dad and I have been watching Korra since season 2. Now that season 3 of Korra is over, I might try to get him to watch the original series.
Man, you're lucky. My family refuses to watch it due to being a cartoon.

Yeah, when he put it in the ponytail in the first two episodes it was pretty kickass. Then he went bald. Easier to animate when flying I suppose.

My family is pretty cool. My mom is actually addicted to Anime. But I have to always filter it, since so many of it has terrible fanservice and other bizarre shit. But yeah, they absolutely loved ATLA and Korra (well my mom hated Book 2 of Korra. She was actually ready to give up. But I convinced her to push past the second half. And she ended up loving Book 3).
Zaheer definitely looked better with long hair. Looked more badass and more menacing with it. Also as weird as this sounds, I kind of think his voice matched better with the long/hair beard. When you shave someone's head, it really changes the way they look and their age. Granted, a lot of people hated Henry Rollins voice regardless of hair vs no hair. I understand the criticisms and think it's valid.
But that's another subject. Yes to the hair!
My family doesn't have the attention span for Avatar. In a normal television series they'll usually talk through everything, then when the conversation ends they'll start asking questions. My dad used to watch Gargoyles with me when I was a kid, though.
I want to know which members of original team avatar they'll reveal in the coming season. I'd like to know what happened to Sokka and Suki, and especially what happened to Azula after The Search. It would be something if it turns out that Azula is actually the forerunner behind the Red Lotus and driving the world into chaos was her way of getting back at her brother for usurping the Fire Nation from her and the world from her father.

It drives me nuts when people talk or do other things when watching a movie or show. I have a sister that will be on her ipad or will play on her 3ds when watching stuff. I get doing this if you've seen it before and are just relaxing. But not when it's your first time and you asked to watch it. My god this irritates me. Then when they have to ask because they missed something. You dont say.
They didn't mind having Korra jump around, though.
This is probably why. It works better with his evil monk look, too.
My sisters 46 and her sons (my nephews) are 13 and 18 respectively. That whole family is cucu for coco korras.
The rage and jealousy when I had the hardbook covers for the Promise and Search and artbook for Korra book 1 was so delicious to watch. And we all started watching S3 together and adored it.

It irritates me when it's a show/anime I'm trying to make my friends watch and I consider it really good and they're glued to their phones. Missing all the good stuff.
I mean, I don't believe in forcing people to watch something. I make sure it's I. Something they are interested in watching and II. It's something they have the time to watch. I just don't get how someone can WATCH something, when they are starting at their tablet/phone for 5 min at a time. You just look over, and see them never even glance up at the screen.
How the fuck is that watching something. SOOOO annoying. I actually just refuse to show these kind of people things. Even if they ask. Like I already know they will do it, so I just don't bother anymore.
I don't really care if other people are just in the room watching the same thing that I'm watching and they're glued to their phones. That's fine if they want to sit there while I watch my show, but don't look up and ask me questions because you weren't paying attention. That's where I get annoyed. Either that or if I'm actively trying to show them something and they aren't paying attention.

I don't force them, it's usually when it's mutually agreed upon that the show is good or we'll give it a try, or when one of us really praises a show and says we should watch it. My friend trusts my taste in anime, and I trust him to recommend me shows he knows I'll enjoy (assuming we aren't watching it together). What bothers me with anime is that so much of the enjoyment is looking at the animation and/or it's in japanese so the excuse of being able to hear what's going on is bull.
Regardless I've gotten friends to watch plenty of good shows, ATLA being one of them. They would never watch these shows if I wasn't there, not because they don't like them but they don't have the incentive/drive.

That's an interesting one they really haven't said anything yet about what spirits such as Koh have done now that the spirit portals are open again.

I had to google her. Didn't read "The Search" yet. I only have bought "The Promise" as of now. Gnarf, should buy it fast.
Which still doesn't mean that she can keep her emotions. Her personality isn't exactly convincing that she could.
She didn't emote much during her giant fight that's for sure.

The guy was on ONE episode and people still talk about him. I can't believe they haven't gotten the hint to bring him back. The rest of the spirits are so meh in design.

Honestly, I like that they haven't done anything with him. Having him in that one episode makes him more worthy of a legend than Korra.
I'm afraid him returning would ruin him, even if Book 3's writing improved dramatically.

If they really wanted it to be more fan service they could've had Zuko somehow meditate and meet with his uncle. Dat family love.
I'm expecting it in the next season
Since in some way each season has had a nation as the backdrop. Book 2 had Water Tribes, Book 3 had Ba Sing Se and 4 will probably show the fire nation capital and probably his daughter in charge
You know it'll happen now that Zuko has found out about Iroh.
Unless Zuko dies saving his daughter from the new villain.
