Better 3D? I hope that means a better screen (although no res increase is still a pisser).
Second stick is a good move, though I'm not sure that the nipple style was the right way to go. Guess I'd need to try it.
Disappointed that there's no spec bump. The machine's just too weak.
Who is going to develop 3DS games and ignore most of the userbase? The buttons will probably be useless in 99% of games.
Wait what the fuck. There are actually games that will be exclusive to the New 3DS? Is this a fucking joke?
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a subtle spec bump like the DSi had.
I don't understand how games are supposed to support this and the control scheme of the existing 3DS. You know, the one that will have the vast majority of the install base behind it. More than that, the 3DS is still so lo-fi that I'm not sure what there is to be gained from dual triggers. None of the announced software seems like it would require this new control scheme.
So this is basically an all new system? Games that are built for the New 3DS's faster processor will either be unsupported or massively gimped on the original 3DS. I'm kind of mad that they're essentially replacing the 3DS after only 3.5 years.
This also will serve as a test if a more powerful hardware revision actually splinters a userbase or do users just grumble and upgrade.
I honestly believe its the latter.
Very nice upgrade but rising the CPU and locking games behind is pretty shitty for consoles.
Well, again, even if, say, GBA, GBA SP & GBA Micro are all vastly different GBA models, I don't feel like they warrant a rebuy of the system. They were just those machines in a slightly different form. 3DS XL & now ~New~ 3DS XL are both vastly improved, so much so that holding on to the OG 3DS or OG 3DS XL feels like I'm not getting an experience that could be described even remotely optimal in comparison to the new, improved models.I don't see how this is different than any other handheld lifecycle.

It has a better CPU and will get exclusive games like Xenoblade 3DS
no...Xenoblade is exclusive to the new 3DS...and I am afraid this might just be the beginning.
This is a real megaton. It tells us a few things I think:
- There is no "real" 3DS successor in the foreseeable future
- Nintendo has been thinking long and hard about how to extend the 3DS generation
- They've decided that a stop-gap measure with an improved 3DS can buy them a few years
So what? It's a terrible thing to do.It has a stronger CPU
Erm WTF?
If there are going to be new3DS exclusive games I'm done with the handheld.
Hopefully somebody comes in to set the story straight.
