Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Lockout 1080p/60fps footage

Ok, I'm sold (not like I wasn't already). Watched the first few seconds of the footage - Halo 2 multiplayer 60fps, oh man, drool.

That's a nice lookin' game.

I've never played Halo multiplayer so forgive my ignorance but has the announcer always sounded like a sneering asshole?

Oh, only 6 maps for Halo 2 MCC? I thought it was a full remake. They look like they have most the best maps so far, but still. I also have good memories of both Headlong and Containment, and it looks like only 1 or none will make it in. They will probably go with Beaver Creek, my guess.

In my circle of friends I know at least 7 persons. So ... Yes. There are so damn much "Halo is back!!" feelings around. It's just amazing.

Is that really a reason to get into a new console though? A frame rate/resolution bump for a game we all played to death back in the day. Feels lazy as hell from MS. If I was still on the XBOX train I'd be as insulted as hell if they had shook that in front of me and said 'look what we've got for you!" Like I'm supposed to sit up on my hind legs and pant. Nah, fuck that, they're not gonna exploit my nostalgia with their cynical business model.

Ridiculous. Halo 1-4 at 1080p/60fps complete with over 100 multiplayer maps, all in one package.
Its the best game package ever put out in terms of value.

You must try harder.

Eh, I grown out of the everyone starts with one bum weapon, fight for the rocket launcher, only aim from the hip style of play

Looks sweet though, Lord knows I put way too many hours into halo 2 in the past, but when it comes to nostalgia, imo, best to be remembered in memory
yeah, we need-

- left trigger aim down sights
- sniper shotgun starts so everyone can sit in their holes
- perks
- killstreaks
- and numbers flying at my face to know I'm doing good

I wouldn't call this a exploitation of nostalgia. It's a very clever, well done remaster. Halo 2 in particular is getting a face-lift two generations in the making.

Looks good. I'm not a MP guy, but will likely pick this up at some point to play through the games in coop with my son again, always fun to be had there.

It is crazy that this is my most anticipated game right now. A re-master of previous gen games. Just so many good Halo related memories. It is still the ultimate FPS franchise in my eyes.

Nine posts, most of which are favourable to Sony. You guys fell for the trap.

If you feel so insulted just don't buy it lol. Myself and other spaniard friends I know will be making the next-gen jump to play some glorioud 1080/60 fps halo.

Can't wait. Plus we're getting H5's beta access!

This is looking sooooo goooooood. This whole collection is such a damn good value. The anniversary footage has all looked fantastic so far. I don't wanna jump the gun, but this looks better than Reach and 4 to me. Can't judge it until i play it but i'm betting money this Anny playlist will be as fun as 3.

I didn't say it wasn't good value for money, but it's not what they should be using to push a newly-launched next-gen console: "come join the next-gen guys, all the games you already played to death back in your teens, only now better looking."

You're fighting a losing battle here, bud.

So, is there anyone who feels like HMCC will make them make the jump to next-gen?

Everyone's saying this'll be a system seller, but is this really a good reason to get into the 8th gen? To play 6th and 7th gen games with a frame-rate and resolution bump?

Don't get me wrong, I love Halo - played it to death back in the golden age (1,2 & 3) - but this feels like some kind of 'nostalgia reach-around' from MS: it might make you feel all fuzzy, but you're still getting fucked in the ass.

If getting 100 mp maps, four campaigns and beta access to Halo 5 is getting screwed, then gaming must be dead to you.

There are new games coming out as well. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be celebrating their biggest franchise and giving fans what many of them want. There is no downside to this.

Of all the remasters we currently have out already and all the future ones coming, you decide to criticize the one remaster that is an amazing package for both single player gamers and multiplayer gamers.
I'm sorry but you're talking bullshit. There is no way you can criticize this package unless you have some kind of agenda which you obviously do.

Absolutely not. It's my most anticipated game as well. The reason being that I get to re-experience one of my all time favorite games in an all new light. Not only do I get to replay my favorite Halo campaign with updated graphics and cutscenes, but I also get to play Halo 2 online for the first time. I lived overseas when H2 first came out so I never got the chance to play online multiplayer. This game is a big deal for me and I know that it's a big deal for a lot of other people. It's more than a simple remaster. It's a return to one our best experiences as gamers and lovers of Halo.

4 games all brought to 1080p/60fps, All maps in these games...ever. Halo 2 given the anniversary treatment (which cost people $40 for Halo 1). Halo digital series. Halo 5 beta running for like a month. $60. Such lazy.

It's no The Last of Us: Remastered. That's for sure.

There is enough new content in the likes of Sunset Overdrive, Ori, Forza Horizon 2 and more. MCC being their gateway drug or justification to buy it isn't too surprising, besides it being also a huge value package.

If you have the ability to watch the 60fps / 1080p footage, even if you have to wait till you get home to watch it, do NOT ruin it for yourself and watch it on Youtube.

I watched it on Youtube and then the 60fps / 1080p clip, and the clip pushed me hardcore get the XB1 as soon as the MCC comes out. I'm still remaining strong and only going for an XB1 once I finish my gigantic backlog on the 360, but damn that looks so smooth. I really can not wait to play all of those maps at 60fps. I just hope that the players online will at least be somewhat good, unlike the typical trash players you find online right now.

At least in the Halo 2 days whenever I actually played solo, there was always a chance to get great teammates and have challenging battles. Hope that will be the case with this too.

Wow this truly brings back HS memories :') . Can't wait to play it online with all of my OG H2 friends tgat are getting an XB1 when this comes out.

Everything you'll ever need in a modern shooter.

Same position as you but with different circumstances. I never got Xbox LIVE until 2008, and when I did, the population of players in Halo 2 MP was small due to Halo 3. It was only during the day before they shut down Xbox LIVE on OG Xbox that I got to play with lots of people.

This remaster is my opportunity to play Halo 2 Multiplayer in it's glory. If the remastered version doesn't appeal to me, I can always have the original version to play in it. ;)
