I'm pretty sure he's pointing out that now not only are the letters switched around from the XBOX controller, but also the colours.
I'm talking about the JP model.
But Nintendo was first with the SNES controller which is the same colour and button layout as the New 3DS. Nothing is switched or changed.
The xbox controller took Nintendos button layout and altered it.
So if anyone have a XL and want's to see how would be the size of the regular n3DS, Ive made these images.

Just open them in the 3DS browser. (I recommend seeing them in the dark and to cover the lower screen with your hands or something else, it can be quite distracting)
If someone what to make one, just make a 400x240 image with a black bg and resize the screenshot to 318x191 (to center it, leave 41 pixels at either side). Mind you that because you are resizing and if your source is bad (like Miiverse) it's going to be blurry. Just imagine it sharp)
And I'm a little bit more sure I'll be getting the regular. The screen size is not bat at all, but I think 30~40% bigger would been a nice middle ground.

yeah I realize that but sometimes when I go from playing Xbox to 3DS or vice versa I get mixed up. And now we have the colours to tend with which might mess me up a bit more. That's why he said Nintendo is trolling Xbox USERS..

Releasing next year in NA and Europe is incredibly stupid. Christmas is a huge time for Nintendo. Hell November and December can double their console sales for the year. Now people will hold off until next year. I mean even your average 9 y/o will know to hold off until the next console.
Its not stupid at all. They need to clear stocks of the current model. Christmas is the best time. Besides, the only reason its coming out in japan this year is due to monster hunter, which does not sell here.
They will stop shipment of the old model within the next couple of months, sell as much as possible of the old model, reduce the price then introduce the new model with Xenoblade and Majoras Mask next year.

I am not. Those are the only colors shown of the new models (black and white for the new 3DS, black and blue for the new XL)

It's definitely a bitch move by Nintendo, but we have to cut them a little slack. They're relatively new to the gaming industry; they don't know what a faux pas it is to mess up previously established button layouts that were invented by older, more experienced companies.
smash bros. and amiibo are both launching in the us this year though. that would have been an extremely good time to push both. i assume they will be trying to push those with the wii u instead.

Yeah, but the 3DS is actually selling here in the west. It will continue to sell this year, so why introduce a new model and ruin that?
Next year is definitely the best decision.
I think people are gonna sell them cheap ONCE the new ones arrives, because they need their old system to do the system transfer.

Hope the improved 3D really works. One of my biggest gripe with the 3DS/3DS XL is if my face is slightly off, the whole 3D thing is blurred and become unplayable...and that really sucks when I'm say in the middle of playing MK7. So I never turn on the 3D anymore cuz of that. I am hoping I can really start playing the 3DS WITH the 3D.
Also, could the SNES button color scheme mean that we're finally getting SNES VC games????

It does from 3DS to 3DS, so there is no reason why it shouldn't with a one-way to New 3DS transfer.
in japan, the 3ds has outsold the gba. with these new models, it may end up outselling the psp (that's a good thing).
the same is only true of the latter in the us. it may end up outselling the psp in america. that's about 17m units, a far far cry from the 30-40m units a standard nintendo handheld has sold for the last two decades.
the 3ds should be their biggest money maker. it makes no sense to let sales sag in the us until some random time in the new year with software no one cares about.
i mean maybe majora's mask 3d is still waiting in the wings and we'll hear about it soon and it'll launch as a new 3ds game. that's about it. i'm scratching my head as to what's left.
Neither parents nor kids are willing to skip their Nintendo 3DS presents this year in favor of the revision next year.

It's not selling well. Nintendo probably thinks Smash and Pokemon will be able to drive sales in the west, but with no new model and no new price drop again in the west sales will probably be down. Not to mention they just revealed a new model and news travels fast these days. Next year should be up YoY in NA though.

2ds, OG 3ds,and OG 3ds xl could see a price drop this winter would still double sales. i dont think anyone would hold off. they would probably then upgrade winter of 2015 to a New system.

Hmm, I really don't know what exactly they could release that would be considered a huge game from them. They've tackled pretty much every big IP. They have S.T.E.A.M. that I know of. I'm sure a new Pokemon will release.

I would have when I was 9 lol, I may just be salty because I want one. Hopefully it works out well for Nintendo. At first I was down on the new trend, but now I kind of like it. Whether nintendo will incrementally upgrade their hardware or this is a stopgap to the next big thing I'm on board. Let's do this.
I still remember the day I first played Super Halo World on my Super Xbox. Good times. And the Legend of Marcus: A Gear to the War was the GOAT.
