1. Guys? I'm literally the only one who knows well enough to support Great Tiger as the best Punch-Out!! rep. :v To answer your question, King Hippo is popular and well-liked, but he's fairly boring. He could be a heavy character, but he lacks an interesting arsenal of attacks. Great Tiger meanwhile is lightning fast, super tall, can teleport, levitate, create after-images (which could be great for a moveset with a lot of fake-out attacks), and can utilize the elements for his attacks.

Sakurai probably decided who would be playable and who would be AT (even counting DLCs) like, 2 years ago at least.

While I've posted (jokingly) some ideas, I think the consensus was to keep tournament organisation to a minimum so we don't suddenly a gazillion of them occurring all at once.

1. I don't think ANYONE should be a second Punch Out rep, honestly xD I just thought King Hippo is the most recognizable from the bunch, what you said may be true but still doesn't count that much.

Pic of the day. The legendary hero Riki appears as an Assist Trophy and in Shulk's Final Smash!! As an Assist Trophy, he uses many arts like Happy Happy, Freezinate, and Yoink! He sounds a bit like Tingle…but don't worry, Tingle will make an appearance too.
By the way, a cursor will appear above Assist Trophies and Pokémon to indicate which fighter is its ally. Now you can tell right off the bat who it belongs to!!

Well we already know that Nintendo hats are available, the ones shown so far also being available in Streetpass Plaza so that can give you an idea of what other hat could potentially be available.

As for the rest of the outfits, I think we just have to wait and see. Personally, I posted two outfits I thought could be a nice reference to Wii Sports.

I don't think Knuckle's gloves would be a possibility since weapons (sword, buster and gloves) seem to be tied to the chosen outfit rather than separate, so for Knuckle's gloves to be available you'd need a Knuckle's body suit, which, quite frankly, would look awful.

1. Why not? Punch-Out!! is 30 years old! It's a classic Nintendo franchise.

2. Toon Link appears in the background of Spirit Tracks. As for changing ATs, what's so hard about Isabelle? Just make her playable and put Tom Nook in her place. She is, after all, basically a background character; you interact with her fruit. And then a character like Tingle could simply replaced by one of his brothers

A tiny bit disappointed that Sakurai doubled-up on Riki as a Final Smash and Assist Trophy. Would have loved to see any other party member take Riki's place in the Final Smash.

I agree but Heropon is very popular and sorta the mascot of the game. I know Monolith Soft had a plush of him that they would take photos of at various locations and post to their Facebook.

The Nopon are being g set up as the equivalent Fantasy's Moogles as they're also in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Ridley and Dixie never had any evidence to point to them being playable other than unreliable, Gamefaqs-calibre text leaks. Ridley will undoubtedly be nothing more than a stage hazard, and Dixie's only chance at a playable spot is DLC next year.

I even pointed out that if significance was a factor for Smash reps, like some argue, Isabelle would knock half this roster out. Still don't see her as DLC though.

Smash 5 (or is it 6 since Wii U is technically 5) is a different kettle of fish. Anything is possible. Who know, the next Animal Crossing may even expand her role so there'd be more material for moves as well.
